This had happened to us several years ago on a double-pane glass door, also with just one pane shattered, ruling out an object hitting the window. The remaining likely causes are sudden temperature change or settling of the house. I checked Yelp and picked out a few window-replacement companies that were highly rated. I called each of them to ask for ballpark estimates. Howie Glass was one of my top choices because they responded immediately but, as I closed in on making a decision, our governor closed almost everything down because of Covid-19, including window companies, unless it was a board-up situation. Slow-forward a couple of months, and window companies were allowed to go back to work. So I dusted off my previous list and called several companies again, including Howie Glass. Since the other company I was considering was slow to return my call (the only negative review was for this), I scheduled Howie Glass to come out for an exact quote. They were available to come out within a few days. Chris showed up, put on his own shoe covers, and checked out our problem window. He quickly determined that the type of wooden-casement windows that we have are not ones they could work on. But he was able to refer us by phone on the spot to another company that could handle the type of windows that we have, and we set up an appointment with them. He then cleaned up all the broken-glass pieces, tidied up everything, and gave us written notes about the other company. Chris was a great representative for Howie Glass, especially for all that he did during the free-quote visit. I will definitely keep them at the top of my list for the future!

My damaged mirror still remains damaged and my complaint is ignored without any thought or admission that they damaged my mirror. I expected honesty from this company owned by Mr. Brigham and I have gotten no where. I wonder if he feels satisfied that he continues to ignore and deceive the elderly. Shame on him. He knows who I am talking about. They can receive all the nice comments and stars they want, but he knows that he damaged my mirror .

When I bought my home, I had 3 windows with bad seals that I had repaired as part of the purchase…read more(done by a different shop). Within 6 months, one of the replaced panes developed a crack that was fairly minor. The other shop refused to warranty or assist on cost for a repair that was clearly related to their material or installation quality (installer also left a suction cup mark on inside of window!). The crack propagated to a fairly large one, so I contacted Glass Doctor to try a different installer for (hopefully) better luck. The assessment appointment was a typical "10-2 window" but they showed up early in the window (unlike the cable company). The technician was very polite and pointed out some things that could make the repair better than the previous companies repair. The glass order took longer than I'd have hoped, but that was a function of their supplier, so I can't ding them. Just like the assessment, the repair happened early in the availability window. Turned out great. Time will tell if this is better than the last repair, but I anything changes I will update, but I don't expect any issues based on the level of service we received.

We email, we call with no answer, we leave messages...nothing. Finally they email us back and tell us sept 24th. They actually DO show up on the 24th. No assessment. They were here about 10 minutes, take only the sun room window, tell my husband it has to be repaired not replaced and leave. They STILL have our window. My husband sent emails and called them to finally receive an email saying they will be back with our window on the 5th of October. Might I mind you our basement window hasn't been assessed, looked at or even considered at this point. We have been dragged along for a month and a half about our windows. This is incredibly unprofessional and I do indeed have proof of everything and the original receipt and work date. PLEASE, if you are looking to get work done for your windows or repairs for your glass DO NOT CONTACT THIS COMPANY! They do not respond, they do not do the work and they will drag their feet every second of every day. If it were up to us we'd have never used this company based on other reviews of similar things happening but it wasn't up to us, it was up to the seller. Over a month for one window is absurd and the fact they haven't even come to asses the other window is even more absurd.
