We accepted a bid from Herbert in August of 2025 because of their quality reputation. Unfortunately the crew that installed our roof was subcontracted to a company that Herbert contracted to install our roof. To the best of our knowledge only one actual Herbert employee actually was ever on our roof. We were never told that the job would be subcontracted and to this day they have yet to disclose this. When you pay a premium price you expect a premium product. That's certainly not what we received. Our roof ended up having leaks around skylights. Over a two month period had to bother Herbert to get them to come back 5-6 times. They blamed the leaks on the sky lights, there were no issues with leaks prior to the roof being replaced. I sealed the skylights in plastic and the roof still leaked at a tremendous rate. When they finally pulled shingles around the skylights it was found that no weather shield had been installed. While they finally fixed that issue, I wonder what else the sub-contracted roofing crew hired by the contracted company missed. Remember, your roof is only as good as the company that put it on. Herbert Roofing was contracted to install our roof and they subcontracted the job to an entity that had (we have been told) never provided roof installation services to them and also the crew that was subcontracted to install the roof. We were the ginny-pig and they never disclosed this to us. Because of other issues I have reached out to Herbert Roofing twice in the last week sending messages thru their website. No response. While the quality of the majority of the installation appears to be good, there are issues and Herbert Roofing does not seem very motivated to even respond. Because of hail damage in our neighborhood this spring, there have been multiple roofing companies installing roofs. The neighbors all seem very happy with the services of these other roofing companies at approximately a 30% less fee.
