He pointed out the good and the bad about the gutters, which we appreciated as we bought the house during the winter while there was significant snow on the roof so the home inspector could not do a complete inspection. Cost was fair and work completed as described. ** Door ** While we were scheduling the gutters we saw that they also did doors. We decided that working with a single contractor was preferred to two as we are often traveling. They came out and while measuring the gutters also measured the door. We ordered the custom door and waited...and waited...then the below: First Visit - Door comes and it is the wrong size Second Visit - Door comes and it will not fit due to sizing again. They decide they need a new frame (same frame they measured on estimate) and put the old door on. Incorrectly as the striker was on backwards and handle loose. Third Visit - Attempt to build a frame onsite, but have to leave to get parts throughout the day. Mess-up the wall during install. Fourth Visit - Door finally installed Fifth Visit - Came to paint and fix wall, but didn't bring the needed parts Sixth Visit - Finished the paint around the wall. Now peppered throughout this process starting on Third Visit I told them thanks, but no thanks and to take the door back. I had a broken door and had wasted over 3 months. Over and over again in written communications they ignored my request to put me out of my misery with this process. I figured they were going to do the right thing, but alas at the end of this process they charged me the full amount for this ordeal. Not counting the number of days (thank goodness my wife works from home) and hours wasted, the work was piss poor. In the end we have a nice looking door. Had I known they would be like this I would skip. Now you know and can decide to not do what we did.

We moved into our house a few months ago and noticed a downspout over our driveway was creating puddles above our basement during heavy rains and snow melt. I reached out to several companies that were highly-rated on Yelp. Only one company returned my voicemail -- a month later. Someone came by to give an estimate and promised to send it the next day, but I never heard from them. When reached out after a week , they told me it would cost $510 to remove the downspout, plug the hole in the gutter, and redirect that gutter to another downspout. I was willing to move forward with this work, but I was really discouraged by their lack of communication. I thought there had to be at least one company with good reviews who would respond in a timely way, so I decided to check the companies advertising to us by mail. Of those, only one company had consistently positive reviews online -- J.R. England. My experiences working with J.R. England could not have been more different than the negative and confusing interactions I had or read about with other companies. Kate and Ryan are a husband and wife team. Kate responded to me in under an hour, visited our home the next morning, and completed a series of estimates for me before the end of business hours that day. I was impressed by her responsiveness, knowledge, generosity, and demeanor. Similarly, Ryan completed the repair a day after I approved the estimate, and he was friendly and forthcoming with his expertise -- never intimidating, condescending, or pushy. On top of all that, the repair turned out great, and unlike the previous company, he was willing to install an all new gutter, without any need to plug a hole, for just $350! I can't imagine hiring anyone else for gutter repairs or cleanings, let alone for a more expensive job, like installing gutter guards. I strongly encourage you give them a call.
