We'd never heard of it, but we were up for an adventure and decided to try it out. I made reservations online through their website where they request a deposit and the balance is due upon checking in to their facility. Ricky was our host and he was great! He was very accommodating and encouraging because, let's face it, we aren't as young and agile as we used to be! I'm so glad I wore comfy clothes because I was SWEATING! Wasn't expecting quite the workout from immersive gaming, but there we were! Ricky had the air conditioning cranking for us and it was very much appreciated! You have to wear grippy socks, which you can either bring your own or purchase a branded pair from Pixel Rooms. Cool little souvenir! You're given 20 minutes in 3 rooms. The first room has 3 different games, which we tried each one. The second room is a laser maze which changes at each level. That was interesting! Wasn't expecting to have to army crawl across the room! The last room is a "floor is lava" challenge and that was exhausting! There was one that was set up as pacers and I thought we were gonna die! The place is GREAT! I think we should come back and bring our kids! Don't hesitate to try this place out!

There are 3 rooms that you get to do. By the end of it, It got a good sweat going for me. Make sure to bring a bottle of water and a towel. They have a water cooler too in case you run out. The rooms are all unique, and challenging, I especially liked the laser maze and the floor is lava room. Oh yes and they do have a small parking lot which is a massive help Will def return

Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room - May 2016 - my obligatory, albeit blurry, pic :)

This installation of Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirror Room - "The Souls of Millions of Light Years…read moreAway" is located at The Broad in Los Angeles. Tickets are FREE. To visit, you will need to reserve tickets to The Broad's general admission AND the Infinity Mirrored Room exhibit. I feel like if you're already going to The Broad you should also visit the Infinity Mirrored Room. I might be biased since I enjoy taking photos. The tricky thing is that the reservations for the Infinity Mirrored Room are released on the last Wednesdays of each month at 10am for the following month OR you have to keep an eye out for openings the day prior. They are currently not taking same day reservations. The reservations are time specific, but there will still be a 15-20 minute line. You can get in line 10-15 minute prior to your window slot and staff will probably not give you too hard of a time. You are expected to go in together with your group, unless you make reservations separately. If you want to go in alone for that selfie, you should make your own reservation. The maximum group size to enter together is 4 people. Any children under 13 must enter with an adult. Obviously, my boyfriend was dragged to go with me. Before our visit, I was researching what poses to do since the time is so limited. And then when we were in line I gave him a quick run down of the plan. It worked out nicely and we were able to take a few photos, a quick video and still had a few seconds to actually enjoy the art installation beyond the selfie taking purposes. This experience was very special for me. I think the careful planning and taking feedback from others allowed me to enjoy my visit. One minute can go by quick if you wait to get inside the room to coordinate your poses. And coming with someone I care about makes it even more memorable.

No complaints about the actual experience itself, it's beautiful and definitely Instagram-worthy. BUT. That wait vs. payoff ratio? Wild. You're standing there forever, building up the moment, just to get ushered in and out in what feels like 60 seconds flat. By the time you're adjusting your camera and telling your family where to stand, it's already "okay time's up." Like... we just got here?? Honestly, I'd rather they charge more and give people a few extra minutes. Let us actually take it in, enjoy it, and get decent photos without feeling rushed like we're on some kind of aesthetic speed run. That said, it is a must-see at least once. Just go in knowing it's more of a quick visual experience than something you can really sit with.

The DTLA skyline views are incredible--watching the sunset turn into city lights while the movie started made everything feel so romantic and magical. We snagged a loveseat, which was super comfy for cuddling up, and the wireless headphones gave us crystal-clear sound without any outside noise interrupting the classic lines and soundtrack. The vibe on the rooftop is relaxed but lively--great drinks and snacks to enjoy before the film starts. Pretty Woman felt even more special in this open-air setting; we were both smiling and quoting lines the whole time. My girlfriend absolutely loved it, and so did I. If you're looking for a fun, memorable way to watch a movie (especially a rom-com on a date), this is it. Highly recommend-- we'll definitely be back for more screenings!

Enter the hotel through the garage and you'll see signage for the Rooftop Cinema Club. About halfway down the garage, there'll be an attendant helping people up the elevator. It's a little bit of a maze but there's tons of signage and people to help along the way! I got the loveseat fire package and was able to choose either a complimentary hot chocolate or popcorn. Our seat was next to a real wood fire which was great for the cold LA night! There's also a bar - beers, wine, and canned cocktails available. There weren't any entree type of meals but there were tons of snacks like candy, chips, popcorn, hot dogs, and pretzels. They gave us Bluetooth headphones for the movie. The sound wasn't great - definitely not full frequency but it did the job. The headphone's clamp force was also quite tight. The seating is all first come first serve no matter what package you get. We came early to get good seats but honestly it didn't look like there was a bad seat in the house. The screen is up high and large so you could really sit anywhere and still have a good view. They also had games laid out to play while you waited for the movie to start. The whole staff was super friendly and helpful. Definitely a great experience! The only thing I would change is getting better quality headphones. Or allowing movie goers to bring their own headphones and connect via Bluetooth.

(And at the time my friend and I went, on a Saturday around 2pm, the stand-by line was only a few minutes' wait. That may change if people read about it in the media.) Once you're in, you take off your shoes and store them in cubby holes. Then you head into a short orientation. (No jumping. No bouncing against walls. This is not a bounce house, even though it looks like one. Etc...) And then they open the plastic door and let you into a magical world of color. At times, the colors seem to change the longer you are in a "room," as your eyes get adjusted. You can sit or lay on the floor to get a better look or to take pictures. On a hot day, the air conditioning vents are welcome. (Some parts of the attraction can get quite warm, so stopping at an a/c vent now and then sort of offsets that.) It's hard to explain what Exxopolis is. It's as if you are Alice in Wonderland and you've just fallen down the rabbit hole, but instead of a new land, you land in magical ribbons of light. And to make the exhibit even better, every few minutes, a different sort of singing/musical group comes through. In the few minutes we were there, we hit an opera singer and a New Orleans-style jazz band. Highly entertaining exhibit. And this Los Angeles stop is totally free! Definitely recommend it. If you have kids, it'd be a great event to bring them to, as long as they're old enough to understand they can't jump on the walls like a bounce house and that this is more of a "relax and check out the colors" kind of activity.
