We've been to salons that claim to specialize in natural hair before, they usually don't know what they're doing. This was not the case at Lavish Beauty. I made an appointment for my daughter's picture day photos for school the next day. I made the appointment here on Yelp, the lovely owner responded with a confirmation within minutes. We showed up for our appointment on time, and the previous client was on their way out. We were the only customers in the shop and we were given immediate full attention and care. I can't remember the last time a hair appointment started on time, and was completed uninterrupted. In fact, that has never happened before. At other salons they may wash you, stick you under the dryer meanwhile tending to another client, but not here my daughter was given full undivided attention. I must say it was a Tuesday, somewhat of a slower day, which may have had something to do with our good luck. The owner also did have someone come in who was moving out some of their things, but it didn't impact the service negatively at all. My daughter had her hair washed, treated, trimmed and styled. The owner/stylist Damita was very sweet, professional, and uses her own line of organic products which smell heavenly, and not at all too strong. For days after getting her hair done my daughter received compliments on not only the style but how nice her hair smelled. Her style looks good at almost three weeks, normally she wouldn't keep a style that long but it still looks fresh. I was so pleased with the results, and the price was quite fair. I cannot think of one negative aspect of our experience, there was none. The salon is immaculate, designed beautifully, and fully functional. The owner Damita takes her business very seriously and the hard work she's put in shows! I'm off to make an appointment for myself, I deserve some pampering too.

The energy it holds... precious. The skills it provides... exceptional. The vibe... calm, cool, considerate, confident and creative. They have such a friendly team, and they are Hispanic so communication tends to be a little limited but they always try. I got my hair cut here and I absolute loved it, i got it wash and blow dry and it always looks shiny and bouncy. Their shampoo and conditioner smells really good too. I met Kalilah at an event and i was talking to her about my hair and how i was struggling to find a natural hair salon that can handle very coarse 4C hair. She assured me that she had girls in the shop who could handle my texture. She was right. She pointed me in Emmas direction. ( forgive me if i spell her name wrong, it drives me nuts when people dont spell my name right) I love the products that were used on my hair. My hair feels so light and airy. It even has a little bounce to it. Im amazed!! Not to mention, my hair smells divine. As you can see in the picture, my hair had a lot of split ends. She cut all that out. The women there were all warm and welcoming(not mean mugging as if they hate their choice in life) That was so refreshing.
