Was driving to work this morning when my car just died - in the middle of the road - tying up…read moretraffic at rush hour. Had Steve's need and phone in my address book as a friend had recently recommended the shop. Called AAA and had the car towed there - having never been there before. Talked to Steve on the phone and explained what had happened just prior to the car dying. He said he would take a look at it - but off the top of his head it could be a fan belt, the battery or the alternator. Early afternoon - call from Steve - car fixed - it was the alternator $303 (the part was $185). Went to pick it up at the end of the day...couldn't have been nicer - answered a few questions I had, gave me an estimate on additional work I need done in the future (which I requested - he did not suggest it) Bottom line - great service, honesty, integrity and fair prices. These are a lost art in car repair. The shop is a true working shop- don't expect a cutesie waiting area and crap like that - this is a place where real mechanics work. Grease, grime, parts, cars and tools - and the shop dog too :) Home run for this place.

Long story short, I went to Intensive Care. I met with Alex and left feeling confident I was dealing with a knowledgeable place. They run a clean shop and hey, they were working on a Bentley. I was prepared to hear I needed a new engine. All of the engine problems were fixed. Completely; for $320.00. Here is the funny part. I could not help but notice that the dealer had a few cars parked in front of the shop. Maybe they are now taking their inventory to Intensive Care. I brought it to them on a busy day and the older man said he can probably get into it sometime that evening and call me with the issues. After four days there and numerous phone calls back and forth, and him bringing it to the Jeep dealership himself to help figure out the problem, he calls me back and says its been fixed. I go there expecting a $5,000 bill and end up paying $150.00 for "the labor" because he didnt have to change any parts, etc. Long story short -- a mechanic can easily steal $5k from you for labor and parts, etc, especially if you don't know much about cars (I don't, and he knew that). But this guy sat down, explained parts to me and explained what was wrong and how he fixed it. I walked out of there, never being more impressed about a mechanic in my life.
