I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and speed of service I received this afternoon at #3013 Auto Zone in Kenner. Mr Clinton [I forgot his last name!] checked my battery found that at least one of the cells was dead; showed me the selection of batteries for my vehicle and their warranties & costs; promptly installed it; verified that it was working; checked the alternator, starter and voltage; and recycled my old battery. By far the most horrible Auto Zone I have ever been to. Firstly, I placed an order online to make sure items would be ready when I arrived. I received my email notification saying my items were ready for pickup. I arrive at location, walk in to find about 15 people standing in line. Okay, I understand, it's a busy day. So I stand in line for 20 minutes. I get up to counter and tell the associate that I have an online pickup order. She pulls up my order and proceeds to aimlessly walk around store looking for items that I purchased. After an additional 10 minutes the associate returns with 1 item and informs me the other items that I PURCHASED are not in stock. We have a stare down that seemed to last another 10 minutes when I finally composed myself and told her to just cancel my order. I walked out empty handed and my blood boiling. I will NEVER return to this location again. Associates are incompetent and they have no idea what is in stock and was isn't. Go to another location to save time and a headache!! read more

Located on the east side of Williams BLVD, north of the I-10, there is a large parking lot in this strip mall, and the Auto Zone is located at the end of the strip. Sooooooooooooooo.....my check engine light had been on for about 24 hours, I had just gotten done working out nearby, and since the Auto Zone advertises they do free scans to determine why the light is on, I decided to stop on in here, despite this not being the location closes to my home. I get in line to wait for a customer service representative, and am 3rd in line. 3 clerks working at the registers, all with customers. I finally get to a clerk and explain what is going on and ask for him to do the scan. He gives me a blank look and just stares at me for a long minute, then goes to grab the scanner thingy. We go out to my car, get scanned, go back in. He runs the codes which indicated that the thermostat was the issue. He then goes on a long man-splaining lecture about how I should be good for the summer as I will not need to use the heater. Listen. Dude. Even I know that the thermometer is not needed just for the heater, it is needed for the engine to determine, and your car overheating in the summer can be bad. In the end, just nod your head and get the paper with the codes for YOU to determine the next steps that are needed. These folks are NOT mechanics. But, I am glad to have come in and gotten the codes read. All 3 stars for the ability to do the minimum. I will say that the interior of the store is neat, clean and well organized. I am sure they will have whatever you need in stock for all of your needs. read more

I'm vowing to never shop this Autozone again! I usually do my own repairs. I would especially do something as simple as installing a new battery but since I'm nursing a broken collarbone and a broken Tibia, I decided to take advantage of the advertised Autozone free battery installation service. The original girl that was helping me out was very helpful and kind while testing my old battery and finding the correct replacement, but I'm sorry that I can't say the same for the the manager on duty. Just as she went to ring up the new battery, the manager looks up and sees her with the installation tools and then he shouts out in a not so professional or nice tone, "Make sure that he pays for the installation kit". At that point I'm now scratching my head while thinking.... "What's an installation kit to install a battery in a 2003 F-150"? Then I ask the manager, "Do you mean those thick pieces of felt that you sometimes try to sell with the battery?" If so, I don't need or want those. I explained to him that I've tried to use those in the past, but they usually don't allow the cable ends to sit flush on the terminals which makes it impossible to properly tighten the cable ends, not to mention that they don't come on the vehicle from the factory. Now the manager gets even more unprofessional with his approach and tone and says..."well, if you don't purchase the "kit" of dielectric grease and felt pads then we won't install the battery". At this point, my bones are hurting and I'm irritated at this guy trying to extract more money from me just to pad his sales. I then decide that it's best for me to take my $200 battery purchase somewhere else. read more

From the moment I walked in, the cashier was very nice. She quickly located the type of break light bulb needed for my van and offered to install it free of charge. In just a few moments, I was in my way. Don't let the long pink fingernails and eyelashes fool you. She was every bit as knowledgeable, capable and efficient as any man could be when it came to knowing what bulb I needed for my van and installing it quickly and correctly. Way to go Auto Zone. I believe that just because the fellas starter only lasted 26 days is because his engine is starting to seize and that's the reason he's gone through to his 3rd starter, without Autozones starter his car wouldn't even crank for even one day and out of his 26 days of starting with Autozones starter he probably got to take his children to McDonald's 2 or 3 times and to and from school and even to work to afford the starter in the 1st place so I don't think it is right for him to expect a refund for a starter that his raggedy car has killed, maybe he actually needs new bearings at the rod and mains, I totally believe the guy disrespected the AutoZone employee and owes them an apology with that loud voice he spoke of in his 2 star review and should change his review, one more thing if he's so proud of the stupid flag he added in his review, he should go live there and try buying a new starter. His kind don't ever see the big picture and he's Very lucky to be allowed to live in the US and anybody else that wants to fly those flags of places that don't even want them there, go home and stop whining in our society and either be proud to have AutoZone or walk, we don't need his spread of whining, we need people who think before they yell at people as the counterman that was only doing his job.
