Getting my second MPX vaccine dose at the Dennis Avenue Health Center was like flying first class with preferred flyer status on Qatar Airways leaving directly from the the Mandarin Oriental. The "DC Health Clinic" at 7530 Georgia Ave is reminiscent of a dark dystopian zombie apocalypse novel. The "clinic" is set up in what appears to be an old gas station or maybe used car showroom from the 70's. There is non-dedicated street parking only. A security guard had me scan a QR code at the door to fill out a form that asks you a number of personal questions before I was let in, and he instructs you to not save your responses. He lets you into the space where there is approximately 10 rows of 4 metal folding chairs set up socially distanced, and you find a chair and wait to be called to the front of the room where there are three registration officials. I asked to use the restroom and a man pointed me up the stairs towards a single tight cramped poorly lit restroom that reminds me of a bathroom you might encounter at an express oil change shop. After waiting for registration for about 30-40 minutes past my appointment-time I was shuffled to a room where 4 techs are giving shots and waited amongst another sea of chairs for about 30-40 minutes until my shot was given. The space had a concrete floor, garage doors on the back, and is adjacent to a number of large storage pallets that are stacked high with white square boxes. The nurse who administers my shot has so many masks and pieces of headgear on that what she says to me is unintelligible. The entirety of the ordeal took me about an hour and 20 minutes. Albeit, the customer service I encountered throughout the "clinic" was friendly, the space does not scream the image of health or cleanliness in any facet of the word. The Dennis Avenue Health Center (no quotes) is a modernly designed beautiful glass sided building with ample parking and is a newer addition to the county. I walk into the building (freely I might add), and see an information window, a table that says "Covid 19" vaccines, and a table that says "vaccine clinic." I walk over to the vaccine clinic and say that I was there for my MPX vaccine. The woman immediately gets up and guides me next door to the room where the shots are happening. I ask to use the restroom before I get my shot and she points me to a restroom right across the hall and tells me that she'll wait for me outside to guide me in when I'm ready. I use the restroom which is a beautiful large well lit and clean bathroom that has those fancy sinks where it has the soap, water, and dryer all touch-less and built into the basin. I come out and she escorts me into a room where there are 4 tables with both techs and tech assistants waiting for me -all available to administer shots. I choose my tech and she administers my shot while asking about prior side effects to my first dose, what I can expect from my second, and preps my arm and talks through each step of administering the vaccine as she does it. She then points me to the other side of the room (for a waiting period) where there are soft padded rolling chairs with arm rests that are set up in rows facing a TV that is playing CNN which is currently streaming the Queen's funeral. After 15 minutes I leave, she thanks me for coming, and the total time it took from me walking in the door to me leaving was 25 minutes. I mean... wow. The funny thing is, I was sort of chuckling as I sat down in a mild state of shock of the dichotomy of the experience I had in DC to the experience I was having at that current moment. The tech thought it was nervous laughter and assured me that there was nothing to be afraid of and that it would be quick and quite painless. Bedside manner to boot! Man... what a stark stark contrast.

There is a LabCorp location within this office building. It does not have its own entrance, so you…read moremust wait for the main doors to open to the building before making your way to the location within. LabCorp hours are 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, but they are closed between 12pm to 1pm daily. This is a walk-in service. Once at the entrance of the room they are in, you must grab the hanging pen and clipboard to state your name and cell number. Your time to be called is already listed on the line you just completed your information (the times are in 10-minute increments). When someone is ready for you, you will receive a phone call at the number you listed. Great service always. Note: Per the information on the sign-in sheet, each patient gets 15 minutes per visit and if you feel your wait time is too long, there is another service center just a few minutes away on the vicinity of the hospital grounds around the corner (they do provide the address for that location).

You check-in at the kiosk but there are many pages to enter information. I'm hoping since this was the first time that I used a Minute Clinic, I would not have to enter my information again when I return for another visit. Please note that the online appointments do not ask what vaccine you are getting unless you are getting a Covid-19 vaccine. I called the day before my appointment to verify that the vaccine that I wanted was actually available. The pharmacist was very helpful (though it was a rather long wait on the phone for someone to answer). You should also note that CVS and Minute Clinic are two different entities. The pharmacist wanted me to make sure that my insurance covers either CVS and/or Minute Clinic. It's been a while since I visited this particular CVS on Rockville Pike but it has changed. The back of the store has both the pharmacy and now an optical center. I was very impressed with the openness of the area. The store just looked bright with lots of good lighting.

Had passed already 6 days after my visit I am still waiting for the results to take the correct…read moreantibiotic. I believe they lost the sample and don't want to admit it. I accepted to receive an ordinary prescription without knowing the exactly result and the pharmacy does not have the antibiotic prescribed. Looks like they don't check it with the pharmacy. I ended up in the hospital because the infection and pain had increased.

I arrived around 11:30am on a Wednesday hoping that it wouldn't take too long. Welp, two or so hours later I was finally seen by the one doctor working that day. They did X-rays and were able to get back to me with the results maybe 10 minutes later (it was good news, woohoo!). I got out around 2:45 pm, three hours later. They really need more doctors!

The administrative and medical staff are friendly and helpful. When I waited longer than usual at a visit, I received an emailed apology! I was particularly impressed with the degree of care I received from the physician assistants. I saw Ms. Vardanyan, who correctly identified a mysterious health issue I was struggling with...the diagnosis was nothing I thought it would be and I was quickly prescribed the correct doseage of medication. My various symptoms cleared up and the quality of my life has improved so much since then. It wasn't a complicated health issue but it was nothing I would have thought of and Ms. Vardanyan was able to pinpoint the cause...for which I'm grateful! Patient First will require you have a credit card on file to pay for extra charges related to visits and such, so that is one thing to keep in mind. But I think this clinic is one of the best and well worth the hassle.

But thought I should now have it checked to ensure it's healing Properly. *I scheduled by appointment online * via CVS website. *appointment confirmations/reminders are available Via email and/or text message. I arrived for my appointment 20 minutes early. The clinic is located in the back of CVS. *No person checks you in. *A red kiosk located in the far left of Clinic area Is where you check in. (See Photo) I received both a reminder email/text while awaiting The doctor. During my wait one the red doors in clinic area opened & out Came the Doctor. She walked over to the kiosk, reviewed something; Then she called my name. I answered. The Dr. invited me in the examination room. The room: is furnished same as a traditional examination room. The Dr. asked about/I described my symptoms. The Dr. cleaned, applied medicated ointment & dressed/wrapped my hand w/fresh bandage. (See Photo) She checked my blood pressure & temperature. Dr. Documents her findings, (I was provided a printed copy); she explained my Hand would heal naturally in a week or so. She also provided me some samples to aid My healing process. * Payment due at conclusion of service. *Insurance is accepted. The clinic area/examination room clean. Of course, it was a Sunday once they became unbearable, so my primary care doctor was closed. I tried Minute Clinic because it got better reviews than the other urgent care near me. The PA took me promptly for my appointment (you wait in your car and they will call when it's your turn). She did an exam and confirmed my suspicions - sinus infection. She called in my prescription and I was home with meds within the hour. I will have no hesitation to use Minute Clinic again if I need quick care in a pinch.

This place does so many…read morethings right, including: (1) the ease of making a same-day online appointment; (2) a convenient location with adequate parking; (3) a modern and clean facility with a friendly receptionist, a water bottle filling station, and complementary tissues / masks / water / snacks; and (4) competent medical staff and doctors who really do seem like they enjoy their job. They really seem to go above and beyond at this place. For example, after the medical assistant took my vitals and exited the room, I started coughing / hacking uncontrollably. She heard me and came back in and proactively offered me one of their free bottled waters, which I very much appreciated. Also, when the PA/doctor later came in and I told her my symptoms and how I had tried to self-treat with some old Rx meds I had on hand (on the recommendation of my mom, who is also a nurse), she actually commended me for doing that, re-upped my Rx, and told me to keep going. Although it was no fun to be sick right before the December holidays, this place made treating that sickness less stressful than the typical urgent care. I give this place 5 stars -- maybe even 6!

I gave my license, drivers license and credit card. They said since I had never been there I had to fill out the 17 page item on their IPad. My INFORMATION shows up on the IPAD. Nothing is different. I WALKED OUT since they STILL didn't know what to do!!! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!!!! Don't go there. If they cant get the front desk straight then they will mess up everything else.
