You check-in at the kiosk but there are many pages to enter information. I'm hoping since this was the first time that I used a Minute Clinic, I would not have to enter my information again when I return for another visit. Please note that the online appointments do not ask what vaccine you are getting unless you are getting a Covid-19 vaccine. I called the day before my appointment to verify that the vaccine that I wanted was actually available. The pharmacist was very helpful (though it was a rather long wait on the phone for someone to answer). You should also note that CVS and Minute Clinic are two different entities. The pharmacist wanted me to make sure that my insurance covers either CVS and/or Minute Clinic. It's been a while since I visited this particular CVS on Rockville Pike but it has changed. The back of the store has both the pharmacy and now an optical center. I was very impressed with the openness of the area. The store just looked bright with lots of good lighting.

I accepted to receive an ordinary prescription without knowing the exactly result and the pharmacy does not have the antibiotic prescribed. Looks like they don't check it with the pharmacy. Thank you, Sarah for being such an angel. She helped me fill in the pertinent forms and take pictures of my id and insurance cards. Then, she took my medical background and I waited for an X-Ray. She was a saint. My provider, Dr. Tanya examined my foot. She was really fabulous and told me to wait until they could get it x-rayed. They X-rayed my foot and I broke it. : ( I now have a boot and a cane. Oh, not the look I was hoping for. I have to follow up with an orthopedic doctor. But, Dr. Tanya and Sarah were the best! Thank you, urgent care for making my visit a little easier and more comfortable.

BUT, THE CLINCHER WAS: the radiologist who took a few pictures and told me to get off the table and WAIT in another room to make sure the images were "ok". Wow, such stupidity and I told him " NOT MOVING!" Too much pain and knowing that I had a severe fracture ( just knew it). Not being disrespectful or difficult, HE ( the radiologist) already SAW THE PICTURES/XRAYS, and asking me to move! WOW! Ended up with 12 screws and a plate in my knee cap! For a Radiologist and MAYBE A PHYSICIAN to see these X-ray, I got a severe problem here as to how EVERYTHING was handled, being a recent retired surgical nurse!

Getting my first MPX vaccine dose in D.C. was like flying standby for a basic economy seat on…read moreSpirit Airlines at the Newark Liberty International Airport. Getting my second MPX vaccine dose at the Dennis Avenue Health Center was like flying first class with preferred flyer status on Qatar Airways leaving directly from the the Mandarin Oriental. The "DC Health Clinic" at 7530 Georgia Ave is reminiscent of a dark dystopian zombie apocalypse novel. The "clinic" is set up in what appears to be an old gas station or maybe used car showroom from the 70's. There is non-dedicated street parking only. A security guard had me scan a QR code at the door to fill out a form that asks you a number of personal questions before I was let in, and he instructs you to not save your responses. He lets you into the space where there is approximately 10 rows of 4 metal folding chairs set up socially distanced, and you find a chair and wait to be called to the front of the room where there are three registration officials. I asked to use the restroom and a man pointed me up the stairs towards a single tight cramped poorly lit restroom that reminds me of a bathroom you might encounter at an express oil change shop. After waiting for registration for about 30-40 minutes past my appointment-time I was shuffled to a room where 4 techs are giving shots and waited amongst another sea of chairs for about 30-40 minutes until my shot was given. The space had a concrete floor, garage doors on the back, and is adjacent to a number of large storage pallets that are stacked high with white square boxes. The nurse who administers my shot has so many masks and pieces of headgear on that what she says to me is unintelligible. The entirety of the ordeal took me about an hour and 20 minutes. Albeit, the customer service I encountered throughout the "clinic" was friendly, the space does not scream the image of health or cleanliness in any facet of the word. The Dennis Avenue Health Center (no quotes) is a modernly designed beautiful glass sided building with ample parking and is a newer addition to the county. I walk into the building (freely I might add), and see an information window, a table that says "Covid 19" vaccines, and a table that says "vaccine clinic." I walk over to the vaccine clinic and say that I was there for my MPX vaccine. The woman immediately gets up and guides me next door to the room where the shots are happening. I ask to use the restroom before I get my shot and she points me to a restroom right across the hall and tells me that she'll wait for me outside to guide me in when I'm ready. I use the restroom which is a beautiful large well lit and clean bathroom that has those fancy sinks where it has the soap, water, and dryer all touch-less and built into the basin. I come out and she escorts me into a room where there are 4 tables with both techs and tech assistants waiting for me -all available to administer shots. I choose my tech and she administers my shot while asking about prior side effects to my first dose, what I can expect from my second, and preps my arm and talks through each step of administering the vaccine as she does it. She then points me to the other side of the room (for a waiting period) where there are soft padded rolling chairs with arm rests that are set up in rows facing a TV that is playing CNN which is currently streaming the Queen's funeral. After 15 minutes I leave, she thanks me for coming, and the total time it took from me walking in the door to me leaving was 25 minutes. I mean... wow. The funny thing is, I was sort of chuckling as I sat down in a mild state of shock of the dichotomy of the experience I had in DC to the experience I was having at that current moment. The tech thought it was nervous laughter and assured me that there was nothing to be afraid of and that it would be quick and quite painless. Bedside manner to boot! Man... what a stark stark contrast.

It takes a turn or two to get to the elevator (someone walked me there) - take it to the 6th floor. In the elevator, it states what is on level 6 (among other levels in the building). Level 6 destinations include: Breast Surgery, MedStar Radiology Network, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. As you get off the elevator, you will immediately see Suite 6100. As you walk in, you will see a sign with an arrow telling you where to go. The Radiology Desk was to the left. Seats are in this area. Two employees were available to help - both were pleasant. I checked in with one of them. I liked the fact that the waiting area was almost empty. After my name was called, that employee I dealt with was also pleasant as well. My appointment didn't take long. Once I left, it was not hard for me to find my way back to the main lobby of the building. Parking in the area is free.

On my second attempt to have an open MRI, I checked in, was presented my completed online paperwork for signature, and was told everything was in order. After waiting, I was unexpectedly informed that my appointment had been canceled for what I felt was an unjustified reason. I had driven more than 30 minutes and taken time off work, only to leave without receiving the imaging I needed. This experience caused unnecessary frustration, wasted my time, and delayed my medical care. Based on my experience, I would recommend choosing a different imaging facility if you have other options.

This place does so many…read morethings right, including: (1) the ease of making a same-day online appointment; (2) a convenient location with adequate parking; (3) a modern and clean facility with a friendly receptionist, a water bottle filling station, and complementary tissues / masks / water / snacks; and (4) competent medical staff and doctors who really do seem like they enjoy their job. They really seem to go above and beyond at this place. For example, after the medical assistant took my vitals and exited the room, I started coughing / hacking uncontrollably. She heard me and came back in and proactively offered me one of their free bottled waters, which I very much appreciated. Also, when the PA/doctor later came in and I told her my symptoms and how I had tried to self-treat with some old Rx meds I had on hand (on the recommendation of my mom, who is also a nurse), she actually commended me for doing that, re-upped my Rx, and told me to keep going. Although it was no fun to be sick right before the December holidays, this place made treating that sickness less stressful than the typical urgent care. I give this place 5 stars -- maybe even 6!

On the morning of the appointment, the front desk staff was friendly and efficient. The wait to be seen was reasonable, and wasn't very long at all. Both the nurse as well as the doctor were fantastic. The doctor didn't rush, and instead took an appropriate amount of time to discuss and perform an exam. I'd definitely visit this practice again. It was such a better experience than other urgent care providers I've had to use in the area. Everything was clean and appeared well maintained.
