Rude receptionist. My doctor called in a lab kit for my c-diff and they acted like I was a criminal for asking them for the kit. I had been there before and knew the routine. This lady wouldn't acknowledge me while I was standing there for 2 minutes and then acted like I didn't know what I was going. Finally she looked up my name and found the order and gave me my kit. My doctor gave me orders for a blood test and told me I could go to Labcorp without an appointment. It is located just two buildings down from the doctor's office on the Medstar Montgomery campus so we walked over. The waiting room was airy and roomy. There were check-in computers lined up near the reception desk. You typed in your name, information, etc, but I had never seen one feature before. There was a slot under the computer and you put your photo ID on it and pressed a button and it snapped a picture. You repeat the process with your health insurance card(s) front and back. After completing the check-in I took my orders to the reception desk. We apparently had come at a good time and I had no wait at all. The phlebotomist called me back and she found a vein right away. The blood drawing was painless and I was out of there in just a few minutes. My only comment is that staff could be a little more personable, but since I only spent a few minutes with there it was a minor complaint. read more

Ugh. Went for another yearly blood draw. Phlebotomist stuck me three times! Finally went to get her coworker claiming she had to leave to go somewhere & she did. Second phlebotomist used vein in my forearm. Yikes. I must not have been very hydrated. But I've never been stuck four times! A former Phlebotomist there never stuck me more than once & nailed it every time - no rummaging around inside with the needle. Wish that Southern-drawled gentleman expert was still there! read more

More than 2 weeks ago I needed routine bloodwork and I was closest to the Olney operation. The reception area was large, clean, and mostly empty. A few Express check in machines were in one area, so I attempted to use one. I use a cane because of a crooked back and found them inaccessible. No table or chair to organize/juggle materials. Driver's license, insurance, order. In any event it failed scanning my DL, so I went over to the customer service booth where one person behind the counter with poor English skills motioned me to use the Express station. I explained that I had a problem and asked for assistance. They instructed me to take a seat, Time passed by. I went to the customer booth when another person showed up back stage. Eventually, Laurel and Hardy took my materials and went to the same failed Express machine and when a scan failed for them entered relevant information manually. I was summoned by the marginal English speaker (who turned out to be the phlebotomist) back to have my blood drawn. She did a good job with a first time draw. On leaving I asked and was told to expect results in 2-3 days. A week later nothing. Called the Olney office. Nobody picks up the phone. "Please leave a message and we will call you back." Repeated the process 3 times over two weeks. Still no pick up or response. Still no results. I suspect the staff who manually entered my details got something wrong so that the results are not associated with my account. But there is no way to fix it and they are unresponsive. Things to fix? Staff attitude, Accessible-friendly check in. read more

Extremely rude and unfriendly staff. Difficult to understand. You are pretty much dismissed if you ask a question. Both receptionists/techs were wearing masks not covering anything (not that I find them necessary but if you are going to wear one, do it correctly!) Lastly, my arm is black and blue. If it is 15 mins to closing time at this location, apparently, you must have some nerve to come in to a facility that is OPEN for business. Staff was rude, appeared annoyed and rushed my 90 year old mother before drawing blood ordered by her physician. If you're able, go elsewhere for these services. read more

I haven't posted on Yelp in a while - my Covid life is boring - but my experience at Labcorp Olney today was so great I had to check in. Had an appointment - I hope never to go to Quest or Labcorp ever again without a reservation. Got there 10 minutes early by accident. Had pre-registered on the website - another great move - so iPad check in was easy. Sat for a few minutes, did the walkup at the window, watched my name be #2 in line for a minute or two, went back, quick and friendly draw, and out the door!I think it was 18-20 minutes from leaving the car to getting back in the car. And free parking. Will always come here until something bad happens here. 5 stars! read more

I have been to this location twice and both times had a good experience. The waiting area is clean and bright. At today's visit, I registered on the machine and took a seat. There were 4 people already there and I was a walk-in so expected to wait a bit. After 30 min I was called to the window, processed the paperwork, was brought back to a room. Less than 10 min later I was on my way. The staff were all professional, but all seemed understandably tired - I think they're being run through the wringer like all health care professionals. read more

I was dreading this trip to LabCorp in Olney because it always seems like such a hassle going to these clinical lab networks. Fortunately i don't have a huge amount of experience with any of them. Recently i needed some simple blood work done and made my reservation online for 10 am with LabCorp. I went and due to lack of caffeine from fasting, was in a particularly cranky mood. ugh. I opened the door to the place and saw at least 10 customers in the waiting area. double ugh. I walked over to MrRoboCheckIn machine and from there on out, everything went perfectly. The machine took like 30 seconds, i was called up to the desk less than 5 minutes later and was taken directly back to a room where a very pleasant young lady drew my blood and out the door i went....ten minutes after i walked in. Appointment was for 10, i was in my car at 10:12, done. Awesome. read more

I paid $2,000 for a CF-RNA to check for potential birth defects in my pregnancy and learn the baby's gender in the first trimester. The lab forgot to fill in all of the paperwork, and we thus did not learn the gender. In addition, the tech who took my blood grilled me for 5 minutes on why my doctor's office filled out the requisition form the way they did. I am not sure why she couldn't call the office to ask clarifying questions but asking that didn't come to me in the moment. My husband took a different requisition form from the same OBGYN doctor to the same Labcorp location to ensure he was not a carrier for certain genetic diseases. According to my doctor's office, the lab location forgot to send in the results, and implied typically the lab does return the father's test results to the OBGYN to inform the decisions made for the care of the fetus even if the father is not the OB doc's patient. I'm not sure whether this is correct but it seemed like strike two. Since they made mistakes with both of our labs, and since everything came at a steep price, it's worth flagging this location is problematic. My partner and I have had no issues getting lab results from other Labcorp sites. I highly recommend going elsewhere. read more

This place is an absolute clown show. We made an appointment which was completely futile because apparently the system you can make an appointment on (https://www.labcorp.com/labs-and-appointments) doesn't "talk to their system." We showed up four times to try and have a pediatric phlebotomist draw blood and were told (see: lied to) that the one person was in various states of not being on campus, including at lunch and then finally, on PTO. We asked when she would be back and showed up the following week when specified only to be told that she wasn't there and wouldn't be there again. They do not allow you to make an appointment in person, so if you need a pediatric phlebotomist, go literally anywhere else. read more

My wife and I just returned home from a pair of early morning appointments at LabCorp on the grounds of Montgomery General Hospital. The service we received was so dramatically better than the service at other LabCorp facilities, I am prompted to post this review. Arriving fifteen minutes before our appointments, we found the waiting room lightly occupied, and we were instructed to sign in and wait to be called. Within minutes, a VERY PLEASANT lady called us up to the desk and collected our information. Returning again to our seats in the waiting area, we were called again a few minutes later for the blood draws. Maybe the favorable experience was helped by the early morning hour, or by the cold weather, but the most important factor was the pleasant lady at the desk. I have come to expect sullen, angry people to greet me wherever I go for service now days, but this LabCorp employee really favorably impressed me. read more

I've been coming to this one for years due to needing routine bloodwork every 3 months. Over all, it's the best one I've been to. I've had a few run ins with ruder receptionists but I've noticed they don't last long in this location. The past several times has been great. The only time it takes awhile or is a bit of a hassle is when the systems are down. Other than that, this is the place to go. Receptionist wins awards for most ways to be rude. Not smiling, not making eye contact, issuing orders "Sign in there and Sit Down" instead of requesting politely, I went there because the ordering physician said that their work was more accurate than Quest Lab's but I don't think it matters. Will be finding another lab before I go back to this office with the rude, disinterested, unfriendly staff that cannot cover their dislike of their job. I don't need that kind of crap from anyone in the medical establishment, there are always plenty of options. Just for the record, most Labcorps I have been to have been slightly lacking in customer service skills, but this one set a new height bar for bad service and attitude. Lastly, they demand your credit card information in advance so they can bill you for whatever they want whenever they want. If THEY make an error, it doesn't matter. They just bill you for their mistake and make sure they get all the money they think they deserve. read more

You walk in and they tell you to sign your name on a form and they'll call you back up when they're ready for you. Really long wait just to be called back up to give my insurance card and ID. Over an hour. So frustrating there was only one receptionist working a full waiting room. Where is your staff?! Plus side- the phlebotomist was outstanding. Super quick and painless. I can't even see where she took the blood from. That's the reason for the 3 stars. read more

I thought maybe I could sneak in a visit without an appointment before going to pick my daughter up from daycare. I signed in and waited approximately 10 minutes before deciding I should ask how long they thought it would take. A lady at the reception desk said to me you've already signed in, right? I responded that I had but had a quick question. She told me that I would have to wait to be called in order to ask my quick question. I had bloodwork done here recently , and while others complain of long waits , I had no problem. I came in right after their lunch break , and was seen within minutes. The woman that drew my blood , Leslie I believe , was extremely quick and polite. I faint easy around needles , and she was extremely understanding and kept me super calm. read more

I made an appointment for 10:30 and ended up waiting almost an hour. Don't waste your time making an appointment, it doesn't matter. Very disappointed. Will use Quest from now on. The receptionist is nice though. And very patient. read more

The most unfriendly staff that I have ever seen at a doctors office. No smile no thank you no have a nice day. The check in staff seem as they hate their jobs and the staff that calls you back don't even say hello they just say go to room "such and such" you'd think they would be more friendly to move helpful. My son had to leave a sample and the receptionist pretty much was "tell him to go to this room and leave a sample" the areas aren't clearly marked at all and they just sat there and couldn't point to get up to show him where. The service at this lab is absolutely the worst! I went in person and inquired the day before if appointment was needed and was told that appointments start at 7:30am and they open at 7am so it is best to come at 7am and just sign in as there are a few people there. So I came at 7am, there were a few people there, and we signed in. It took two receptionists over 45 minutes just to call us to the window to take the insurance card and the paper from Dr! 45 minutes! And it wasn't like they were calling tons of people. They were not calling people for over 10 to 15 minutes just to the window between one person to another on the list! After that it took additional 45 minutes to be called in inside to get the blood work done. People were complaining before us, as well, about how long will it take. When I, after being done, expressed my dismay at the slow service I was greeted with blank stares and no explanation because there isn't any! They just don't want to work! It is obvious that nobody cared at all. I have been at Quest and many other labs and I have never experienced anything like this, just the opposite, labs work at a fast pace and even if there are many people waiting you never truly wait that long.
