Labcorp @9850 Genessee Ave.: The front desk to the lab personnels were so rude & hostile. The working environment was hostile among themselves and mostly to patients who came in. The management has to create a better environment than this ongoing rudeness and hostile attitude. It's not my 1st visit that I felt and treated badly but the following visits are the same. Customer service skills are great. Left two phone messages to ask if Kab could even RUN specialized test - nobody bothered to return call. Thus, had to drive to facility to ask a question. Arrive: THEY HAVE THEIR PHLEBOTOMISTS doing quasi-check-in. Quasi-Check in: Phlebotomist points to a computer screen and says "DoThat." When I DARE TO ASK how long the wait is I'm told 30 min to 1 hour (waiting room had two bodies in it) and "You should have made an appointment!" Welcome to the poorly staffed, rude Circle Lab. When I asked about returning phone calls, both Phlebotomists kinda shrugged, one half laughed, and said nothing. Why have a "Leave a message" option?" Just be truthful: "Here at LabCorp we view the patient not as a human, but as a means to an end to get money from insurance companies, patients in need, and Employers!" I have gone to this labcorp 3 times over the last few months. This location is always so chaotic. Parking spots can be tight but plenty of open spaces. The building is very old and it shows. The staff at this location are always frazzled. It wasn't even super busy as I made an appointment. They also never quote my insurance correctly saying I owe when I truly don't. The phlebotomist did a good job but the franticness of the front desk area and staff; I will go out my way to the Encinitas Labcorps. read more

Made an appointment for a simple blood draw. Upon arrival, the employee at reception was obviously sick, sniffling and coughing the entire time. Worse was that they hadn't bothered to verify my insurance coverage so they presented me with a very large bill for the labs, promising only to charge me what my insurance wouldn't cover. I requested that they contact my insurance company to verify coverage and they refused. I would give them zero stars if I could. PS: LabCorp presented me with a bill for over $213.00. I spent way too much time today running around town with my frozen crap specimen. What happened was... I wanted to get my specimen to the nearest LabCorp to me... the Activity Rd one. I checked their hours on Yelp to make sure I avoided their lunch hour (to prevent making that mistake this time). I show up and the front desk is empty and DARK. I look at the sign...it simply gives a standard list of the hours they're open. It says lunch 12-1. It's 1:20. I ask one of the people sitting in the patient area if she knows what's going on. She says "lunch time." So then I go downstairs and ask another company if they know what's going on. The guy says it's weird, they've been closed a couple of weeks, "and people are showing up for lab appointments." I go back home with my frozen crap specimen, put it back in the freezer, and call the manager-type headquarters-located LabCorp rep whose number I practically know by heart. She looks up that LabCorp and says "oh, they're temporarily closed." I tell her there are people sitting there waiting, thinking they're just late back from lunch; there's no Closed sign. I have her call another LabCorp to confirm that location is open. She says no one is answering at the Pomerado location but she's sure they're open. Luckily they were. Glad that's over. LabCorp, if you're reading this -- I suggest you do a serious re-visit of your practices. As a minimum: If an emergency LabCorp location closure is needed: - Display a sign saying Closed from xx date to xx date and, ideally some form of explanation. - Blast an email/text to your customers with appointments to notify them of the closure. And including an apology would be appropriate, too. These steps, including the details of the job title of the employee required to do these tasks should be in your personnel procedures. That's assuming you *have* procedures. If you don't, please write them. read more

I prefer this location because it's not busy like the Poway one. The staff are very nice and attentive. One review on here said that there was no one at 3pm for her drug test. Well that specific testing ends at 3pm but the rest of lab work is still available to get done. So she probably should of called to get the specific hours. read more

Every 8 weeks, my home health nurse hand delivers my blood samples to LABCORP. EACH TIME, SOMETHING IS INCORRECT. The sample is hemolyzed, they are confused on lab orders, they can't read the lab orders, etc. I am calling BS on the entire organization. Fix it. read more

Super friendly front office/phlebotomist. In fact, my 17 year veteran phlebotomist is so good, she actually teaches phlebotomy on the weekends. The process was super easy here, I waited in my car, and then I received a text and walked in and up the stairs to the Labcorp office. They were super helpful, and found my order, and gave me instructions to walk to room number one and have a seat. The tech came in in less than a minute, and asked me a couple of questions, do I get lightheaded when giving blood, etc. I started getting a little nervous, honestly, because last time I had blood drawn it was super easy. I think what made me even more nervous was when he went out to find a smaller needle LOL. In the end, he was great at his job, because he found the van on the first try, and I barely felt a thing. One thing I would recommend for them, I'm not sure if they can do it in such a corporate setting, but one place I go to get blood drawn they have funny sayings all over the wall and it really distracts you and you don't even think about the needle or the blood being drawn or anything. A tip for people coming here for the first time, bring the paperwork from your lab order. For some reason I assumed everything would be electronic, but for me it was fine in the end, because I had put the order in through their website. I was here to get an antibodies test for Covid. So, since I wasn't going through a primary care physician, I paid $10 online for the order itself, and then when I got to the office, I didn't have to pay anything. I double checked before I left at the front desk, and they informed me that if my insurance didn't cover it for some reason, the government would pay for it. I guess technically in the end my taxes will pay for it, but at least there was no upfront cost lol. read more

They are IMPOSSIBLE to get on the phone. I've left so many voicemails, no one responds. They LOST my last sample. I have to go in for a third screening now because of this. They are currently directly impacting my employment. They also do not check temperatures or do any kind of COVID screening when you get there. They are completely non communicative. Three months ago, I went for my blood work appointment and ended up waiting over an hour past my scheduled time before I was seen by anyone. There was no one at the front desk, and no one ever answered the phone when I tried calling. Fast forward to today, I showed up for my follow-up appointment only to discover that the location was temporarily closed. Awful service! Needed a urine drug screen for work. Came here right as they opened to see a clipboard with "drug test 10-1130." I ask the lady at the desk about it who said "if we are not busy with blood work, we will take you." I wait 20 minutes as people keep rolling in. I then ask the guy at the desk who blew me off and told me to read the sign. He then proceeded to laugh about my situation with the woman behind the counter. Shitty customer service. I love this LabCorp location.. Every other LabCorp I have been to is ridiculously a long wait.. and when I mean long wait I'm taking about 1 plus hour!!! I live in paradise hills and I drive all the way up to Mira Mesa to go to this location. This location is great because it isn't overly packed if you go right when they open or early in the morning.. no apt needed if you go early! I always walk in and get out within 10-20 min depending how many people is there. But compared to waiting for 1 to 2 hours.. this is by far the best location. Parking is big so that is never a problem. Customer service is great! They are all nice here and try to get you in and out as quick as possible and make everything easy for you. I have never had a problem with this LabCorp location. They used to be located in a different location in Mira Mesa and I'm actually happy they moved to this location! It's a lot more easier to find parking and very spacious and nice on the inside. Whenever I come here for blood work it's done so fast! Makes me not so scared of getting blood work done.
