I scheduled weeks in advance and showed up and the person took my blood for one test and then…read moreremoved the needle. I said, "I have multiple tests; you should be able to see them in the system." She checked and saw them. She said, "well I'll have to poke you again." Maybe if you had reviewed the list in advance, you wouldn't have to. She went on to say I would owe over $80 for the tests and to give her a credit card. I told her that was an error, as these are standard tests I've received for three decades and also I had met my insurance out of pocket maximum for the year. She would not do the draw without payment. I asked her which tests were showing charges. She said she didn't know and would have to print it out to find out. Okay, so do that... I continued to tell her that was wrong but she would not move forward without payment up front. I refused and did half the tests. I then contacted my insurer and ordering provider to verify all CPT codes and associated diagnoses, and they said everything *IS* covered 100%, but that "Quest does this to a lot of patients and then you have to fight for reimbursement from them." Knowing I have confirmation that nothing on my insurer's or provider's end is misaligned, I set another Quest appointment--at a cost to my PTO--and tried to call Quest to verify they will not have the same story next time, but it was impossible to get anyone on the phone. So, am I satisfied with my last appointment? No. I historically use LabCorp and only used Quest because I work for UPMC and they are the partner that can "see" all the labs. But if this happens again when I go next week, I will no longer use Quest -- and probably will advise patients against it as well given this is apparently common.

i've gone to quest for routine bloodwork. Their offices are always dirty. The waiting rooms are…read moredirty, dingy and depressing. They have an incessant TV commercials running over and over and over again. This becomes a especially aggravating because they constantly overbook and understaff. They request that you make an appointment and provide all your information before your appointment time as the guys to speed things up. Reality is you will wait for over an hour per your appointment. They will give you no notification of delays even though they send texts. I waited 65 minutes my last appointment when I walked in there were 20 people in the waiting room with only two people drawing blood. this is their business model. I spoke with a phlebotomist and she assured me that everybody in the company is aware of that and I've complained to management but management only concern is to maximize profit. They do not care for their patients or their employees. The turnover rate is very high because of their horrific environment. the phlebotomist also shared with me that most patients are so tense from waiting so long that she has difficulty in drawing blood. Avoid this place at all costs.
