My arm near the draw site was fully swollen, double the size of the other arm for two days. I urge you to avoid this place at all cost. read more

Tried again to go over there to find out ONLY from the building's doorman that they are closed today. Again, WTF?!? HOURS are NOT UPDATED & WRONG ON WEBSITE & are different + ALSO WRONG ON your BUSINESS RECORDING, which states that they are OPEN Mon, Thur & Fri 8am-4:30pm / Tue & Wed 9am-6pm. TODAY IS A MONDAY & THEY ARE CLOSED! This must be a normal occurrence, since the building lobby doorman actually laughed & simply said they decided not to show up today. OMG. SMH. Attn Labcorp HQ: are your sites individually run? If not, you may want to care enough to hire a new manager to shape up the site, the staff + ALL the issues I've covered. This LabCorp office frequently violates HIPAA and privacy laws, repeatedly. The man who works at the front desk yells at customers constantly, divulges personal HIPAA-protected information LOUDLY in front of other guests, and purposefully delays customers with confirmed appointments. I had to walk out of the appointment today after waiting 45 minutes because he was yelling loudly that my doctor did not write down the unique-to-Labcorp codes on my requisition and that I was going to "hold up" all the other guests. He purposefully delayed me being seen because he did not want to do his job, which is to match the LabCorp codes to the notes on my Physician's requisition. He divulged patient names, specific medical conditions, drug tests and other things that other patients were at the center to do, and other protected information. I sat, with an appointment, for 45 minutes waiting to be served, and he farmed out my requisition to a telephone person he was yelling at on the phone. She never entered the LabCorp codes. I walked out. I am a cancer patient with a compromised immune system. Sitting in a LabCorp for 45 minutes is dangerous for me because no one wears masks anymore, including the rude yelling man at the front desk today at 830 AM. Please note this is the SECOND time in a row that I have been denied service or had severely delayed service by this same person at this exact location. They are severely understaffed, and they need retraining in customer service. I am now delayed even further on getting life-saving diagnostics because of your incompetency and this man's disregard for patient privacy, serving patients in the order they had booked and confirmed appointments, and the general rudeness and shortness of the lack of customer service at this location. It is deplorable. I want an investigation by the New York City Comptrollers' Office and the Department of Consumer Affairs as well as all regulatory bodies that enforce HIPAA laws. Earlier in December, he attached another man's requisition to my lab requisition (same first name) and handed it to me instead of the phlebotomist. This is a HIPAA violation. I saw the other guy's protected information, and I nearly got HIS labs drawn on me! He also verbally yelled my tests (some of which are not things patients want to divulge willy-nilly) with very easy to hear earshot of all in the tiny waiting room. Also a violation. The office is understaffed and this poor angry man who works the front desk is doing all the jobs of multiple people, but it does not excuse repeated HIPAA violations. Today he was yelling out names, dates of birth, diagnosis codes, etc, in addition to denying me service after rattling off many of my ICD codes in front of an office full of patients. LabCorp needs to train its employees better, have them do their jobs, and hire more people in the largest city in the United States. read more

So if you're not aware, LabCorp is kind of a crappy company. In order to save money, they've decided that their locations don't need front desk people. Instead, you'll be expected to sign in on your own with a computer, and for everything else, the phlebotomist handles it. It's a bit obnoxious of a business model, but as much as I dislike the company they're in-network for my insurance, so I usually end up having to go there. As much as the company itself sucks, the employees are generally really great. The guy that was working this morning (who was the sole employee at the location - and expected to do it all, from entering data into the computer, administering urine tests, drawing blood, sending out specimens, cleaning up, etc.) was really great. I barely felt the pinch of the needle and ended up with no bruise afterward, so I'd have to say he was pretty skilled at drawing blood, which I greatly appreciate (come on, nobody actually enjoys getting their blood taken!). With all that being said, don't expect anything to move fast, because they are short staffed. It is doubtful that you're ever going to get anyone on the phone, because they are short staffed. My recommendation would be to go in early - I had scheduled an appointment for 8:30 online (earliest available), but showed up closer to 8 when they opened, and was actually out before 8:30, and I was the only patient in the office. Don't go during lunch time, because the phlebotomist takes lunch, and since he or she is usually the sole employee present, it means that the place is closed down at that time. read more

The receptionist was no where to be found for over 20 minutes. Once she did come back into the office she was rude and short with me. No customer service skills whatsoever and acts like she hates her job. I also came in for a urine test for employment and apparently they only do that certain times of the day even though the website fails to mention that. Appointments for urine testing were aloud to be made for any time the office was open. Terrible organization and customer service all around. I do NOT recommend this particular location. read more

Called them to check office hours. The automatic recording said 9-4. We arrived at 1203pm and the place was closed for lunch until 1230. The lights were off and a handwritten note scribbled at elevator bank. This is very inconvenient for people who take time to come here only to find that their actual hours differ from their stated hours. read more

The phlebotomist at this LabCorp is probably the most technically proficient I've ever seen. However, she is also the front desk staff and all the other staff at this facility so she is extremely overwhelmed. I went mid morning and the place wasn't particularly busy, but because she was there alone I waited for an hour before being seen. I imagine it's worst it peak times like before work, lunchtime or after work. read more
