This office is infinitely better than the Quest lab I used last year in Pennsylvania. Seamless! I made an appointment online. I needed to change it. No sweat. With time to kill I walked in almost an hour early. They took me within minutes. The automated check- in process is easy. (It wasn't in PA.) Slide your ID and insurance cards in the kiosk -- and that's it. The phlebotomist was professional and pleasant, alerting me to a test my doctor ordered that may not be covered .... and how to proceed if it's not. Ten minutes in-and-out. After the appointment I received an email with instructions to receive results directly from Quest. Sure, why not?! A day later, the results arrived both from the lab and my doctor's office. I made an appointment for 3:20 which did not register with the office so I walked over and they said no problem and gave me a number. which meant nothing. I brought my teenaged daughter in for a blood test. We did not have an appointment and waited only about ten minutes. My daughter was terrified. She's always had a fear of needles. Fortunately, we got the most caring and kind nurse, Renata. She was so sweet and understanding, chatting away about this that, suggesting positive things to think about, asking what my daughter was going to have for breakfast when she leaves... and just like that, boom, she was done! We had a great experience with Renata and Quest Diagnostics today. read more

My aunt had an exceptionally troubling experience at this Quest Diagnostics location and never wants to come here again. Before I continue, I will say that our experience at this location had been very positive until recently. The phlebotomists we've seen have been very skilled and friendly and service was always relatively quick as long as we made appointments beforehand. However, this morning, when my aunt had gone in to have her routine bloodwork done, the staff here attempted to charge her a $100 co-pay, despite the fact that she has gotten her bloodwork done here at least a dozen times and has never been charged ANY co-pay and that Quest Diagnostics is in-network with her insurance. On top of that, my aunt stayed at the lab to call someone from her insurance company to assist her and talk to the staff at this Quest Diagnostics. The insurance rep themselves said that she shouldn't be charged anything and even offered to speak to a staff member. But then, the staff member told my aunt they weren't allowed to speak with her insurance company? What could possibly be going on here? If that was true (which I highly doubt, given that staff probably needs to speak to insurance companies all the time so that the lab can BILL THEM), who is managing this lab that gave this directive to their staff members? Why didn't they come out to speak to my aunt to attempt to troubleshoot the issue or speak with my aunt's insurance company if their staff couldn't do so in their stead? My aunt--who is elderly, prone to fainting, and had made as early an appointment as possible because she was fasting for the bloodwork--waited to speak with someone for over an hour before she left out of frustration. Until/unless we get answers, my aunt and I will only be going to the Quest Diagnostics location at 57th and Lex or LabCorp going forward. This is appalling and beyond disappointing. read more

The Quest web site and app are pretty good, but this location doesn't get any credit for that. I've been here twice now, and had the same nurse, though I didn't get her name. They were efficient - I had the first appointment of the day and I was taken on time. But for the 2nd time, I requested the blood draw from my left arm and she insisted she draw it from the right. Visually, I could see that the vein was better in the right. I could understand her making a recommendation, but she's very strident. And both times, my arm hurt and was bruised for a couple of days. I've not had that happen anywhere else - not at my doctor's, nor the walk in lab at NY Presbyterian K9. I'm going to make an effort not to go back here. read more

This review is for the technician named Elena. We all know getting your blood drawn is never fun, however- she made it as enjoyable as possible with her jokes, demeanor and was therefore the best experience I had ever had at any quest diagnostics location (I've been to MANY). At one point I swear I felt like my own mother was drawing my blood! That's how painless and comfortable Elena made me feel. This was a 10 out of 10 experience and even when the waiting room got a bit crowded today you could hear the calm in her voice how sweet she was to every single person AND may I add that she works with haste yet doesn't miss all the small important details. So please someone needs to give her a raise. Or have her training all new employees for your company because I'm certain this location is a well oiled machine because of her. read more

I had the phlebotomist, Letieia, who was super friendly, apologized for the wait and quickly, painlessly and efficiently took my blood. I had such a great experience at this Quest location. Check-in was fast and efficient using a simple touch screen interface that captured my ID and insurance information. I was seen very promptly at my appointment time. The staff was great. I have to say a special thanks to Renata, the phlebotomist who worked with me. I told her that I am not good at giving blood (I'm a fainter!) and she was so warm, kind and understanding. I requested to lay down and she did not belittle me for that request. She looked for the better arm that she felt like she could work with faster. And she went so fast and kept me laughing and smiling through the entire draw. When I went a little pale she found me a piece of candy and a glass of cold water and let me relax until I felt good enough to leave. I have been to many medical locations where my strong response to needles/blood draws is not taken seriously. I'm told to just "sit in the chair, it will be fast" and I inevitably pass out. It was so nice to feel seen and heard at this location and to be seen by such a compassionate staff. Thank you! read more

It's important to note that my experience at this Quest was first thing the morning after Hurricane Ida gave us tornado warnings because that timing had the potential to tip the scales of total experience both in my favor and against. Overall, I left feeling that teeter totter balanced out to where I trust this to be a solid location during normal and peak times. I walked in to an empty waiting room. So, yes; I don't have a sense of how they manage a full or overrun waiting room, and was already set up to receive quickest possible service. But how many times have you been in a medical office where you're the only one there and still wait half an hour? In my case, one of the technicians was crossing the lobby, saw me, waited for me to hit submit on my check in, and took me directly back. He could have easily walked past me, gone in the back, did his thing, and called me when he was good and ready. He didn't, which speaks to the level of customer service and patient care they're working to achieve at this Quest. He was friendly, super thorough (if a little difficult to understand at times and quite rushed in nature), made sure I knew how long each test would take, and he is the one who informed me that I could sign up for an account to be notified when my labs were in rather than wait for my doc to call. This was the second Quest location I'd been to that week, but first time I was given this information. And back to Ida. We're talking folks having experienced 2-3+ hours to commute within the boroughs in order to get to work...and some having to say "bump it" and walk 3+ miles to make sure they go in. So I could easily have arrived to a locked door because of no staff. But they powered through to make it in. All that = solid in my book, folks. read more

The two women I encountered at this location were absurdly rude and uncaring. Sent me away because it was somewhat near (20 mins! I needed a CBC only) their lunchtime (there was no one waiting to be seen, it was empty). There are many other competitors out there. If quest supports this type of behavior, I will gladly take my business elsewhere. I will also be sure to send my patients elsewhere. read more

I am a difficult prick patient - veins too deep and too thin plus I get lightheaded. I have been sent back by other phlebotomists 6 times over the last few years. Elena somehow managed to draw blood from me easily and painlessly! No bruising at all. She was also very pleasant. Thanks a million!!!! read more

RESPONSE: You have some nerve telling me to EMAIL you. Have some REAL customer service and provide a phone number for patients to ask questions. You should be SHUT DOWN! ‐------- Terrible. Just terrible. There is absolutely no way to reach a human via phone at Quest unless you select the prompt that you are a doctor. Even then, they barely give you any info. I went on a Friday AM to pick up containers for samples my doctor wanted. My doctor faxed the rx three times and Quest never had it. Turns out this location is closing end of day 03-27-2020 due to covid. I went back in the afternoon to drop off the samples before they closed bc I don't want to travel via public transit to another location during covid pandemic. They tell me the one of the samples can only be dropped off between Monday and Thursday. Really?! Would have been nice if I could have SPOKEN to an actual human to get this info. Instead, they said, too bad, so sad, you'll have to do it again TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY QUEST! THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! Oh- and to add to my bad experience, when ai returned in the afternoon there was an old man there asking for a covid test because he thinks he has it. Meanwhile the signs on the front door clearly tell people who think they have it to not come inside. Wtf?! So pissed I was potentially exposed to this when I've literally been confining myself for three weeks to avoid any chance of being exposed since I have a compromised immune system. I went in to drop off a sample, per my doctors instructions. There is no drop off box, no receptionist desk or human in this office! It was insane. We tried calling but you cannot get a person on the phone. It is very frustrating as I cannot get the samples dropped off or a person to speak to about how to drop off. Spent one hour on the phone waiting for someone to pick up. Please think about staffing your reception area or hiring a call center. Anything to help your clients!!! Worst experience ever. read more

I was able to make an appointment during the time span I needed online. I got there as they opened and they took me early. Sign-in was a breeze via a self serve computer at the front. Location was clean and easy to find. Very organized and pleasant office space. Staff was was wonderful. I have deep veins that collapse easily, making it difficult to take blood from sometimes (even after drinking plenty of water mind you) and not all phlebotomists have good "bed side manner" at handling this. Sometimes phlebotomists would get flustered in front of me, say inappropriate things or prick me in such a way (sometimes several times) that I would get huge bruises lasting for a few weeks, but the phlebotomist at this location was careful and calm, she was no nonsense and confident, thus I felt safe and calm. She answered my questions concisely and respectfully. No fuss. In and out with zero drama. When I got home, my Quest portal email came through immediately. Smooth sailing. I recommend this location and Quest in general. read more

Do not take little children to this testing center. I took my 1 year old for bloodwork to get his mandatory city lead test and they couldn't find a vein and sent me away immediately. They were extremely rude and said my child had "chubby arms" which is why they couldn't find a vein. This was a horrible experience and I am appalled by the staff here. read more

I went in for a gestational diabetes appointment and the whole process was was quick, smooth, and pleasant. I made an appointment online, which was easy and fast (especially since I already had a Quest account online). My appointment was 9:15 on a Tuesday, empty at this time (there was only 1 person in the waiting room, who was called in right away). I checked in on the iPad using the QR code from the confirmation email (you can also use a code or your name I believe) and was called in within a couple of minutes of my arrival. There were two women working the office, and I think 3 rooms, and 2 bathrooms. I had an hour between drinking the glucose drink and the blood drawing, so I appreciated that the facility is clean, quiet, and has hand sanitizer, tissues, and a water dispenser. The woman taking care of me was very friendly, the glucose drink was nice and cold and actually pretty good tasting. The blood drawing went just fine. Couldn't have been better! Note: While I waited, I saw many patients called within minutes and even seconds after their arrival. It did get suddenly get busier by 10:30, with the room filling up to 4 patients waiting, so I can imagine the wait gets longer and longer as the day progresses. Come before 10 on a weekday and you should be good! read more

I have literally the deepest smallest veins, with phlebotomists telling me I have the most difficult veins they've ever encountered. Elena at this location got my vein in one try, zero pain, zero bruising, no flow issues. She didn't even need to tie the tourniquet all that tightly, which was shocking to me, since ever other previous semi-okay blood draw I've had involved a tourniquet that felt like it was going to garrote my arm off. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had giving blood. I'm pretty used to general pain and grossness not to mention multiple sticks, since I'm disabled and also have such nightmare veins. Just thought those who are phobic or also have deep veins should know that you can have a good, painless experience here! read more

This is for THIS specific location; Total headache; awful. Messed up two VERY important things and had to go to another location. After my DR. appt, this was the closest quest. I walked in to pick up 3 containers for 24 HR urine tests. The woman who helped me not only commented on how "strange it was" that I needed 3, and that she'd "remember me" because of how weird it was. So, so inappropriate. She kept my paperwork. I assumed this was because she'd key it in the system, but this wasn't the case. Long story short, I go to my local Quest near my house (which was great), and they told me that the woman should have absolutely given back my paperwork, and they couldn't do anything with my sample until I got the papers. It was the weekend, so I had to take my sample back home and come Monday when I could get the papers. Monday rolls around, and I go to my local Sunnyside quest with the papers from my Doctor. Turns out, the location on 76th not only kept my papers, but gave me the WRONG CONTROL CONTAINERS. So my test was completely void. I have to complete this test now, again. Also, if the Sunnyside location wasn't as thorough as they are (this is a great location), they could have easily tested it. Gotten false or alarming results since it was the wrong control substance/container, and it could have completely thrown off my testing. This location is terrible. Screwed up two major things, and now I have to carry around my pee for another 24 hours tomorrow. Do not go here. read more

I was seen promptly by Renata, who is wonderful. She was so sweet and kind, and genuinely made me laugh (to distract me from the blood test, I imagine). No pain and relatively quick. My doctor had asked for a few tests to be run so all in all, it took about 30mins. read more

Avoid this location. With an appointment I still waited for 15 minutes in an empty waiting room (no receptionist, just a sign to seat oneself and wait). The phlebotomist never made eye contact during the entire procedure (routine blood test for primary care doc) and the draw was painful. I still have the hematoma (bruise) from the less-than-skillful draw. There are multiple locations for this business, and I won't be returning to this location. read more
