Made the executive decision to try an urgent care instead of a local emergency room. Emergency room's on a Friday in NYC., can be a gamble. Summit Health and CityMD are now part of VillageMD.  VillageMD provides high quality, accessible healthcare services for individuals and communities across the United States, with primary, multispecialty, and urgent care providers serving patients in traditional clinic settings, and in patients' homes which is a service I love, reminds me of concierge medicine, and through virtual appointments. You can easily find this location on West 14th street, 2 blocks away from Union Square. Upon arriving you're greeted by a very pleasant receptionist that will ask if you have an appointment or, are a walk in. I was a walk in, therefore I scanned the QR code at check in, which gives you electronic consent forms to fill out. The waiting area is very clean, no crowds, and esthetically pleasing to the eyes. The atmosphere and service gives you a comfortable, and relaxed feeling, especially with the beautiful art. After electronically filling out the forms, I was given an immediate appointment. My wait was barely five minutes. Went to the back, had my vitals taken. Doctor came in, within another 5 minutes. Had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Ira Owen whom was a kind Doctor, with excellent bedside manners. Felt like he was Superman, just needed a cape. After examining my hand, wrist, and elbow, the Doctor felt it was a terrible sprain. My thumb was put in brace, and I was given instructions on how to care for the sprain. My entire visit was probably under 35 minutes. Could not ask for a better medical experience. Definitely recommend City MD West 14th street location. Tip: If you need x-rays, call ahead to confirm which location has the mobile x-ray technician. To ensure you are not left inconvenienced.

have been coming to CityMD for a long time, and overall my experience has almost always been good…read more Yes, there are sometimes long waits, and occasionally small misunderstandings happen, but nothing critical. In general, the doctors I've seen before were professional, kind, and genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, my visit on December 14, 2025 was very different. I was seen by a female provider whose name I was unable to get -- the front desk did not provide it, and she did not introduce herself. From the beginning, her attitude felt cold and dismissive. I clearly explained my situation and asked if it would be possible to prescribe medication in a slightly larger quantity, as I come to CityMD regularly and currently do not have insurance. I paid out of pocket for this visit. Instead of calmly explaining medical or policy limitations, the provider responded with visible irritation and a negative attitude, which made an already stressful situation worse. She could see that I was anxious and in a rush, yet the interaction felt unnecessarily tense. At the end of the visit, I was told that two medications would be prescribed. However, when I went to the pharmacy, I received only one tablet of one medication, and the antibiotic that was promised was not prescribed at all. This was extremely frustrating and confusing, especially since the clinic was already closing and I could not clarify the issue the same day. What upset me the most was not even the prescription mistake itself, but the lack of professionalism and empathy. In all my previous visits to CityMD, providers were respectful, patient, and supportive. This experience felt like an exception, and unfortunately a very unpleasant one. I truly hope this feedback is taken seriously, because CityMD has always been a place I trusted -- and I would hate to see that trust affected by interactions like this.

The MD provider was compassionate and competent as was the medical assistant. They did a culture for step, diagnosed my daughter, and sent RX to CVS down the street. He's usually open every day until around 7, but due to one of the Jewish holidays, he was closed. I say all this because I've had bad experiences at other urgent cares before. They'd tell me to grab something over the counter or "follow up with your PCP," and I'd end up wasting a $30-$40 copay for advice I'd already tried. This visit was completely different. The check-in process was quick, the wait time was reasonable, and the front desk staff was genuinely kind and attentive. NP Tammy was incredible she made me feel seen, heard, and cared for. Her bedside manner was so comforting, and the level of care felt just like seeing my regular PCP. If you're looking for an urgent care that actually listens, provides real treatment, and won't make you feel rushed, I highly recommend this location!

More Like CityPA: Disappointing, Incomplete, and a Waste of Time…read more I went to CityMD Park Slope and checked in using the QR code. That part was smooth and efficient. Unfortunately, everything after that fell short. The Medical Assistant who brought me in barely engaged with me--no warmth, no empathy, and just completely dead in tone and demeanor. She said, "The doctor will be right in," but instead a Physician Assistant came in, with no explanation or clarification. That was misleading. The PA, a male provider, was courteous but not thorough. He quickly flashed a light in my mouth, didn't use a tongue depressor, and didn't perform a proper examination. He didn't check my ears, eyes, or mouth properly. Despite that, he prescribed antibiotics without verifying whether my illness was bacterial. They swabbed me for strep which was negative and sent out a throat culture. What would have also been helpful is to rule out a viral infection, so a respiratory PCR panel should have also been ordered. That way if it came back positive, I would not needlessly start antibiotics that would not work. My illness turned out to be viral, so the antibiotics were not only unnecessary but also completely ineffective. That decision showed a lack of clinical diligence and wasted valuable time. I ended up following up with my primary care physician today who took the time to do a full evaluation and immediately noticed an issue in my throat that the PA had missed. My PCP was able to give me a proper diagnosis and appropriate care--something that should have happened at CityMD. It's incredibly frustrating to go to a facility expecting medical expertise and leave with poor care and more questions than answers. If there are no MDs available to review or confirm treatment decisions, then calling it CityMD is misleading. Be transparent and call it CityPA if that's who patients are going to see. Just a reminder to folks, your insurance likely pays for you to be seen by the MD so insist on it. In my experience, PA's are valuable team members for patient care but they often miss the mark when they assess you alone so you're better off seeing the MD to follow up after them. I won't be returning. Next time, I'll go straight to my own doctor from the start and I suggest everyone try to do the same.

The clinic is spotless and comfortable, which immediately puts you at ease. But what truly sets MedRite apart is the staff's empathy and professionalism. Every time I've come in, especially when I've felt my worst, I've been met with genuine care. Samantha is an absolute standout. Her bedside manner is flawless--she's kind, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and incredibly compassionate. In a field as demanding as healthcare, having someone like her makes all the difference. I hope her journey continues to be fulfilling, because patients deserve to experience the kind of care she provides. My sister had a similarly wonderful experience with Alicia, who was just as attentive and kind. It's clear that both of them are in this profession for the right reasons--putting patients first. And although we didn't catch the receptionist's name, she was phenomenal. I had a lot of questions, and her patience and helpfulness were truly next-level. MedRite is a place where you feel seen, heard, and cared for. Huge kudos to the entire team for making healthcare feel human again.

When i tried to talk to the manager after my 5 second appointment i could not believe how condescending and unprofessional he was. I said i was in pain and didn't think i was given the proper care. Still in shock as i have never been spoken to in this manner by a medical professional like this in my whole life, genuinely cannot express how poor of an experience it was. I will say the other girl at the front desk was so nice and kind, the only positive interaction i had there. i feel sorry she has to work with that misogynistic asshole.
