I visited the Mountain View LabCorp site over the summer for a blood draw. I had ordered the test through Ulta and I was very confused as to why LabCorp's Phlebotomist was drawing blood for Ulta? Inside the blood draw room, there were over 100 vials of patient's blood in sealed test tubes sitting upright in racks. Hmm. I wondered why these weren't in a refrigerator. I also was surprised that there were metal Lab Specimen pick up boxes bolted to the outside wall of the building. It was very hot the day I visited the lab and the sun was beating down on the Lab Specimen pick up boxes. One said LabCorp and the other said Quest. The Phlebotomist was very prompt and came out to get me in the lobby on time. She was very sweet. I did not have a good experience with the draw, however. She used a large gauge needle without a Butterfly. It felt like she hit a nerve, or tendon when she inserted the needle. Right after the draw, I had pain right below where she inserted the needle. When I opened an closed my arm it hurt. This continued for a month. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue disease and my tissues are very fragile. I should have asked the Phlebotomist to use a smaller gauge needle, but I had forgotten. I share my experience with a UCSF Phlebotomist who told me that it sounded like the LabCorp Phlebotomist was in training, because it it standard procedure to use a smaller gauge needle on a very thin arm and a butterfly is always used, as well. When I think about the 100 + test tubes of patient's blood sitting on the counter, I wondered, if the way specimens are stored at this lab location, may have something to do with all of my tests be negative. Went for a quick blood draw early in the morning with no one there. Was turned away due to no appointment, which I've never needed so radiation any other location. Explained to the receptionist I was from out of town, and on foot, that of Ubered there. Her response was to make me walk, without checking my condition or any details, 15 minutes to another location. There was no one there, no line, no appointments waiting. I am asking my doctor to use a different lab when I get home. read more

My previous visits to LabCorp have been relatively smooth, but after today I can no longer recommend this location. There's a self-checkin kiosk here now, so you'd think that wait times would be shorter than before. But the opposite is true. Self-checkin is pretty basic, and a person still has to process your request form and verify your insurance. There used to be a receptionist plus a lab technician, but now a single person has to alternate between both roles. This slows things down significantly for everyone. Looking at other reviews, such has been the situation for a while. Despite having an appointment, I had to wait over half an hour to be seen. Some people who arrived before me, presumably without an appointment, had to wait even longer. What a miserable experience for all. My guess is that some corporate exec got a nice bonus for replacing one of the workers with the self-checkin kiosk, under the guise of cutting costs and increasing "efficiency", the latter which has backfired. Profits over people. To her credit, the gal working here is doing an amazing job having to hustle non-stop. SHE is the one who deserves a bonus. I don't know if this situation is the norm at all LabCorp locations now, but I'm going to think twice before returning to this one. read more

Extremely convenient and swift. I highly recommend making an appointment online; I grabbed an early AM slot. I was lucky, they were not busy, only one other person in the waiting room. The phlebotomist that drew my blood was skilled. I barely felt anything and we had a great conversation that helped distract me from what was happening (lately, I have not been enjoying blood draws, so that was very helpful). Went to this LabCorp location in Feb 2019. The receptionist was nice and friendly, the phlebotomist was awful. She calls your name and doesn't say anything else. She misses a vein and goes on DIGGING for another without saying anything. Turns the needle while inside my arm then makes another stab. Worst pain experienced, extremely dizzy afterwards. After my draw I was the only person in the waiting area, I felt faint and weak. The phlebotomist thought no one was around and started complaining about customers to the receptionist. She stated how annoying it was when people want to tell her about their health, that she could care less, that she doesn't have time to make small talk..... etc. Unprofessional, rude, just an awful human being. The huge dark painful bruise she caused took 3 weeks to go away. Lastly if you do go to this location, look at the layers of dust and white film all over chairs & furniture. zero stars if possible. read more

Please just be cautious when you choose this LabCorp, especially the one at Grand Road ( Close to El Camino Hospital ). I recently had a wellness examination test here. I couldn't get the test the report after two weeks from the portal. I wrote 3 times through the "Contact Us" webform. Every time the response was just a short sentence "I can't locate your record", even I had provided all the appointment confirmation info. I then thought it could be good to check the lab office where I did the test instead of wasting time with online support. They must be able to find my record and be able to help. That later turned out the worst experience I had. The reception madam told me coldly that it was not her job to provide the report. I need to contact customer support. I explained I had done that but couldn't get it. She then told me that she couldn't help. If I want to do another test, she needed the order first. Good thing was that she gave me a number to call. After 20minutes the agent finally found my record and told me someone will contact me later. Then I got another email from the same Online support agent, again with one sentence asked me to update my online profile. I didn't know why but I tried to follow it to get my report. However, that was no way to edit my profile ( I guess I was asked to change the name to a legal name ). I replied then get no further response, the same as what happened in the past 3 times. After the 5th contact, I finally get the report by email, this time she was even not bothered to say anything in her email but just the report I am fighting for two weeks. If you are curious about what kind of support from LabCorp, I am attaching the replies, consistently each time. So far I hear no sorry from them. read more

The lab tech was handling all sorts of things with her gloves on; doors, drawers, keyboard, etc. I asked her to change gloves before opening the sterile needle. She told me that I was making her uncomfortable and refused to draw my blood. All I did was ask her to do her job correctly in a professional manor. Now I have to fast again and find another lab. What? On top of that, the check-in machine is a pain because all the stuff it asked for they asked for again at the desk. Then they wanted a credit card because they "didn't know what the charges will be". How can they not know what the charges will be? They might not know what the insurance will cover, but they surely should know what they will charge! This place is to be avoided. read more

Made an appointment on line for a Monday morning. Came here & the doors were locked. Hardly anyone in the parking lot & thought they were closed; maybe a holiday or something. After 10 minutes, someone from inside their office saw me standing outside came & unlocked the door. Went to the correct suite where the lab was located. Small little hole-in-the-wall place that did not look much like a medical facility. No one else was there. When inquired about whether people were coming in, the gal at the desk said yes. Informed her that the doors were locked & couldn't get in, she said that "maybe someone accidentally locked doors while exiting". You can't "accidentally" lock the doors b/c these doors open up automatically when you approach them & the switch to lock the doors is well above the average person's height. The same person at the front desk doing the paperwork is the same person drawing the blood in the lab. The blood drawing room is one small, dingy room with one chair. It did not look very sanitary cleaned. The gal who drew my blood did not change gloves. She wore the same glove taking my paperwork & drawing my blood. Even though I was late for the appointment because I couldn't get in, there was no waiting. Got in & out of there in 5 minutes. No other issues encountered. Order blood tests & paid for them on-line thru Direct Labs. Got my results within 24 hours. Fast , quick and easy and reasonable as well. Glad I did not get the blood work done at the hospital or through QUEST Diagnostic (which is another story). read more

Like several other reviewers, I came here for the employer wellness check -- a fasted blood test (aka kill me now). I had an 8:30am appointment, showed up around 8:15, and I was seen and back in my car before my original appointment time. If that isn't impressive, I don't know what is. The cherry on top was that my blood test actually was painless. Sometimes they say, "Now you're going to feel a little poke" and it's a brutal, insanely painful attack on your arm. Not this time. The actual blood draw was smooth and the woman who drew my blood was so chill. I was wriggling and panicky but she is such a pro. Pros: Self Check-in was great, phlebotomist was skilled and very nice, had a separate lab room with a bed for fainters so that you can recover without interrupting their workflow. Cons: Only one employee means that even if you have an appointment and they're operating efficiently, you're still waiting 15+ minutes to be seen. The phlebotomist playing receptionist too slows things down considerably (yes, self check-in helps but there's still paperwork and patients to interact with). Also corporate apparently doesn't care enough to get a hand exercise ball to make blood draw easier, which sucks when you end up getting stuck multiple times for an easily avoidable issue. read more

Save time and make an online appointment on the LabCorp web site. They will ask you to upload your photo ID, and insurance cards, into their system and it will auto-complete your form. Nicky at the front desk is also a LabCorp phlebotomist, and she was fast, efficient, and gentle. Painless in every way--and remember to make your appointment. read more

I went in at 8:02 AM two minutes after it's open. There were four people before me. The "express" check in machine is very slow and people took a lot of time figuring out how to use it. There was only one staff for the first 30 min doing paperwork and lab work. One guy before me gave up on waiting at around 8:30AM. I gave up at 8:45AM. Only one person was able to finish lab work the entire 43 minutes I was there! I told the front desk staff I had to cancel because I'm already late for another appointment. I have to do some regular blood test recently and I was happy I found this place; as it's close to both home and work. However my experience has been constantly awful. The staff (one particular guy I wish I knew the name) is so rude and indifferent! They always have delay in their service and they have attitude as well! Every time I go there in the morning I've seen half an hour to 45 minutes after my appointment! Once I told the guys I have a meeting and I can only wait up to 30 minutes, and he sent me back right away without getting my test. What's the point of appointment when they cannot stick to it? I used to love that I had a good place for routine blood draws nearby, but they seem to have changed phlebotomists and the new guy is nice but NOT GOOD. The first time I went he actually tore skin when he took the needle out, and had to keep me there until it stopped bleeding, which it did not do for a long while. It was extremely painful for the rest of the day as well. I gave it another chance, and while it wasn't AS bad the next visit, it certainly was not painless as it has been all of the other times I've been in the past. Beware! read more

Worst experience! I was fasting, didn't take an appointment and I went there around 8:30am. I saw four people ahead of me, so I thought would make it by 9:10am. Only one person working, she takes care of insurance and goes to the lab and takes the test, on an average 15 mins per patient (no complaints about her, she is doing her best). After 2 patients, another comes from outside and says he has an appointment. So, no wait time for him, she immediately takes him.. I just couldn't take it, with this speed I'll not be done by 9:30am as well. Felt very bad and left. I cannot believe the fact that even Dr's appointment takes 5 mins and just for blood test, you have to wait for an hour..... there's huge flaw in the system. read more

I had just seen my cardiologist today in Mountain, View. He wrote me a requisition for many blood test. So I left and went to Lab Corp on Grant road. My wait wasn't bad at all. I expected to wait for a long time so I brought a magazine..I was pleased to be seen by the receptionist who also happened to be my lab technician as well. She was so kind and gentle. I will definitely be coming back again. Anyone who can handle the front desk and do the lab work too and still smile is ok in my book. read more

This has become my go-to place for blood work. I've been on three separate occasions and have worked with two different technicians. I am a hard draw and really appreciated that the techs were adept and left me with no bruising. There was little to no wait each time. Plus, the blood draw room and adjacent bathroom (sample time!) were both well-organized and clean. read more
