no zero star as an option so here we go: I went to the Labcorp in Gambrills and had yet another extremely unprofessional experience. When I walked in, there were no other patients waiting and no receptionist at the desk. I said "hello" because no one was in sight, and instead of being greeted, I was yelled at from the back to "sit down," in the same tone you would use to command a dog. Only later did I realize that the person yelling at me was not only the receptionist but also the one who would draw my blood. She was rude from the beginning and even admitted she hadn't had a chance to go to the bathroom, but she took that out on me by raising her voice and snapping at me simply because I said hello loudly enough for someone to hear. When my phone died and I needed help contacting my doctor, she refused to call, refused to even look up the doctor's number, and offered no support at all. This came right after a horrible experience at the Labcorp in Bowie, and although the dynamics were slightly different, the level of poor professionalism at the Gambrills office was just as shocking. Between being yelled at for just trying to get someone's attention, treated like an inconvenience instead of a patient, and denied basic help with contacting my doctor, I left feeling disrespected and unsafe. I also called Labcorp corporate about these issues and discovered that, just like with the Bowie location, nothing meaningful is done to address the problem. At this point, it is clear to me that there is a serious culture and training issue, not just "one bad day" or "one bad employee." As someone with experience in business consulting and professional development, I know this location can do much better. With the right training in empathy, communication, and patient care, you could dramatically reduce complaints like mine and rebuild patient trust. Gambrills Labcorp Fails Location: 2401 Brandermill Blvd, Ste 160, Gambrills, MD 21054 Visit date: 9/17/25 I was slapped by the phlebotomist when attempting to assist her with holding the gauze while she attempted to tape it to my arm. As a result, the bruising post-puncture was worse than usual. Healthcare in the US has become so rude and unkind. Labcorp staff is consistently guilty of bad care. Why do these people work in a business whose customers/patients irritate them? I don't need to be subjected to such bad behavior. read more

Took my daughter here yesterday. She needs bloodwork on a monthly basis, but she has a phobia and vasovagal reaction almost every time she has to get it done. From the moment we walked in she was greeted rudely when asked if she could have the room with the exam table to lie down. She was told no. (Shorter woman,should've gotten her name? But it was a 12:30 appt ) My daughter fainted TWICE while sitting up, and the tech just kept moving the needle around IN HER ARM. I was furious. We have not had anyone have trouble accessing her veins in the past year. When she came to, I demanded should be brought to the room where she could lie down. She almost vomited. I asked for this accommodation to be put into her chart and she did not respond to me. I'm not sure if the tech didn't believe us or she is just an unhappy person taking out her frustrations on patients but this is not OK. Do better Lab Corp!!!!!!!! or find somewhere else for her to work where she doesn't have to deal with patients. read more

The last few times I've been here for a blood draw (with an appointment- and it's easy to make one), they've been pretty much on time and the techs were great - no pain at all and very courteous. My last appointment was on 9/17/24 at 7:30 am. I was taken back to a room at 7:33 am and waited only 7 minutes. I was outta there by 7:12 am. They've stepped up their game. read more

I came in for a urine screening. I checked in at 8:25 the nurse calls me to the desk and tells me screening doesn't start until 9. So I sit in my car until about 845 I'm sitting in the lobby for another 15 mins. I go to the window and say "excuse me" and the nurse gets an attitude with me. Ive been to this location three times over the last year, and I'm always impressed at how kind every single person I interact with is, from the front staff to the phlebotomists. They are always right on time when I have an appointment made, which makes my life so much easier! Great care all the way around. read more

It appeared that the Brandermill location was short of staff on Friday 2/14/2025. The technician didn't greet me as previous times before. She searched for a vein and stuck me with the needle but missed the vein. She then proceeded to wiggle the needle around which caused pain and discomfort to me. She continued even after I asked her to stop. Because of my husband, I stayed but I so desperately wanted to run out of there. Needless to say I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Btw, their bathroom was dirty too. BEWARE!! If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

I went to the clinic for blood work. I had a pre-filled form from my doctor and had already provided all my information online the night before. Upon arriving at the office, I signed in via my cell phone. However, to my surprise, I had to repeat the entire process at the front desk, where the staff seemed unmotivated and unfriendly. It was hard to determine who was less responsive and communicative between the two ladies sitting there, one of whom seemed almost invisible. I inquired if I could add "Magnesium" testing to the form by marking it on the document I received from my doctor. At first, the lady assured me it wouldn't be an issue. However, After being casually directed to room X and prepared for the blood draw, I asked again if the magnesium test had been added. This time, I was told it couldn't be done, and that I needed to have my referring doctor contact them for the addition. Realizing it would be impractical to handle this after the blood work was completed, I promptly went to my doctor's office and asked them to call LabCorp before my blood samples were processed. Despite the receptionist/assistant being on her lunch break, she kindly promised to make the call right away. On my way home, she phoned me to inform me that she had spoken with LabCorp, but they hadn't assigned a case number yet and couldn't take the request. She assured me she would follow up in the morning. The next day, around noon, I received an email from LabCorp stating that my results were ready!!!! WTF, it was all an unnecessary hassle without the desired result! If the staff had been courteous and approachable, I might have considered giving a 2 or 3-star rating, instead of feeling like my appointment was a bother to them. I have no intention of returning to this facility in the future. read more

The phlebotomist who was to take my blood was a Dallas Cowboys fan... ZERO STARS!!! LOL I'm kidding... not about her being a Cowboys fan, though. That's just inexcusable. But, the staff here are still awesome. I've had a couple of blood draws here already and I've never had a long wait or problem with the experience. The staff is very good about finding a good draw spot, quickly retrieving the sanguine offerings, and patching me up afterwards. They have a lot of people coming in and out all the time, but they keep things safe with COVID concerns still. I took advantage of the online check-in and let them know via phone that I was there for my appointment. I was about 10 minutes early, but I got the text that they were ready only about 5 minutes later, so they were able to get me in before my appointment time. Everything was pretty smooth overall. My appointment was at 11:45 and I was back in my car by 11:53. Very efficient! I've always been a Quest guy, but after this latest experience, that might have to change. They weren't sticklers about the written form and they were communicative, friendly, and efficient. No complaints at all! read more

I had an appointment but when I arrived I was told they did not have my order. I asked them to check again because this has happened to me before when they actually had it. I checked to make sure they had the correct spelling of my last name. I called the doctor's office to ask them to resend it. I was told at LabCorp they had it twice but it came a few days apart. They had the order on the first day. Lesson learned is do not let the doctor email it but take a hard copy from the doctor and bring it in with me. read more

Absolutely awful service today. Although, I've been to this location without issue before. There is a lab tech who I must advise the public to avoid. She is disrespectful and rude. She had no regard for anyone with an appointment or time sensitive testing. After fasting for 48hrs, with a requisition for a time sensitive blood draw, an appointment and having been here before for the same tests, they showed a complete lack of regard for the physicians orders. She deliberately delayed the test causing me to have to begin my fast all over again. Avoid this tech (Liz) if you have time sensitive labs or if you expect professionalism. All other technicians deliver superior service and work hard to serve patients. read more

Friday evening I received a lab order from my physician who requested I complete blood work prior to my telehealth appointment this coming Wednesday. Saturday was my only available day so I went on the LabCorp website and saw there were no available appointments but walk-in's were welcomed. I arrived around 9:00 and was instantly greeted then informed if I didn't have an appointment the wait would be approximately an hour. I was fine with that so I checked in on the kiosk and waited outside in my car. I received a text to come inside a little after one hour and everything afterward was smooth. Customer service was great even with them being extremely busy and with only two technicians. I applaud this location and appreciated the workers. read more

I was just at Lapcorps Gambrills location (April 28, 2022) and was told i have to wear a mask or i couldn't get service. I had checked LabCorps website prior to my visit and saw NO rule or indication a mask was required. And since Maryland has NO mask mandate anymore I did not have a mask with me. I asked the clerk if they had a mask i could use and was told no. I traveled 30 minutes to this facility and was denied service over a non-existent rule that masks are mandated. Please respond to me and confirm there is a mask mandate at ALL your facilities in the US and that a mask is mandated for service. read more

I have vasovagol syncope which is a symptom from blood pressure dropping suddenly due to extreme emotional distress. I have anxiety and have had a fear of needles since I was a child so it's never gone away or gotten any better. I faint every time I go to get bloodwork done. I had visited this location at the end of last year and I had let staff know I was a fainter. The woman who administered the procedure was rude and didn't monitor me after the procedure was done and left me there lying on the table trying to recompose myself. I tried to wait and be slow as possible getting up but I fainted shortly after. I woke up on the floor of the room and no one had even noticed or cared to see if I was alright. The door was also open and I could visibly be seen so I was dumbfounded there was no one there to even see if I was okay after even seeing people pass by. This is not okay once so ever and leaving a code red patient unmonitored is a huge no no in the medical care system. Not a good look and I don't want to come back. read more

There's a sign-in sheet at the front which I'm pretty sure is a hipaa violation bc they simply highlight the patient's name once called and not black it out. Incredibly long wait to be checked in. I signed in at 8:20 and it's 8:40...still haven't been checked-in. I'd comment on the lab experience, but it doesn't look like I will be experiencing the lab today as I do not have all day to wait to be checked in, so I'm leaving. read more

INCREDIBLY rude! Deliberately, meanly, rude. And so, so, filthy - scary. This was our first time here at this Gambrills, Md labcorps; and we're thinking we'd better not trust this lab, such unprofessional behavior, and SO dirty. Bathroom (where you're sent to give urine sample) was so nasty we wonder what contaminants are being passed from one patient to another via filthy surfaces and foul-smelling air. This place looks and feels like some impoverished part of the world, not our "modern medicine" United States where we practice advanced sanitation. Our recommendation: FIND YOURSELF A DIFFERNT LAB! I made an appointment at Labcorp for 8 a.m. for basic blood work after my annual physical. I saw on the sign-in sheet that only one other person had an appointment-- everyone else was a walk-in-- yet three people were called back before me so no one called me until 8:15. I got the feeling that the employee that finally called my name either hated working there or hated me because she was so super unfriendly and rude. 15 minutes late seeing me, she tells me to sit back down after scanning my insurance card. I politely ask, "Do you know how much longer it will be because I had an appointment for 8" and she responded coldly that it wouldn't be long. Finally, I hear a voice from somewhere yell my name and tell me to go to room 2. From the waiting room of an office I've never been in, I found this to be unhelpful and rude as I wandered around to the back, looking for Room 2 with no hello, no guidance. I've attached a photo of why it's apparently a bad idea to question how much longer it will be until you're seen. The same front desk employee that had that attitude with me is the same one who took my blood-- and it hurt! She literally slapped some gauze and tape on my arm (which fell off 5 minutes later). When she was done, without even facing me or looking at me, she said "have a good day" in tone that told me she truly did not mean that statement. read more

This was my first visit at this location and it's very convenient - it's on the same floor as my primary care physician! I have a tough time taking off work so it's awesome the location is open on Saturday's and walk ins are welcome. I was a walk in at 8:30am and I was out by 8:50am. Brittany was my checked me in and she also was my phlebotomist. She had no problem finding my vein, which was shocking because no one ever successfully gets my arm they always have to find a vein in my hand. Thank you Brittany for a positive, easy experience!! read more

The only good thing about this place was no wait. However im livid at the fact they kept pricking my daughter in the wrong place and couldn't get blood! She was only 1 and I had to hold her down for 5 minutes as they kept sticking the needle in and moving it around in both arms. Went back twice to get it done and still couldn't get any! read more

Arrived at 7:00 am on a Thursday for blood work, left by 7:25. The check-in was quick and easy. I had to have A LOT of blood drawn and Victoria did an excellent job! She kept me calm and made me laugh. Victoria was also very gentle and quick. She made my visit more pleasurable than I expected. read more

Went here on a Saturday at 10:00 expecting a full noisy waiting room and a long wait. However I was in and out in 20 minutes! Maybe I was lucky, but it seems like this location may not be as crazy busy as some of the ones closer to me in DC. Very clean facility with a comfortable waiting area as well. Even though it's a half hour drive I will come back here again (doesn't hurt that it's in a shopping center that has all my favorite stores in one spot!) read more
