Unilab Quest Diagnostics - Broken toilet lid

Unilab Quest Diagnostics

There was a dirty swifter and toilet brush and plunger next to the toilet. The main waiting room had piles if boxes stashed all over. The floor was not clean. It was 8 :15 when I arrived and the trash bins were very full. This is the San Ramon Valley drive site. Two weeks ago I was at the Bollinger Safeway site it was in the same condition.

Sadly, Muir lab was so busy, they had no chairs left available in the waiting room, so I decided to come to this one where there were only 2 people in the waiting room. When it was my turn to get blood taken, the woman who took my blood lined up 24 vials, insisting that the order I had from the doctor indicated that all were needed. Since I am a fast and good bleeder, I cowboyed up while she stuck my arm. As she was going for the first vial, her scrub rubbed the needle out of my arm and needless to say, blood started flying EVERYWHERE! Blood dripping down my arm, onto the floor, onto her outfit, etc. It was like a bad movie and luckily, I gave birth to a 10 pound baby 13 1/2 years ago and am not afraid of pain or blood. She apologized profusely, cleaned me up a bit (I did the rest) and stuck the other arm (good veins I have) and one by one filled up (yes I said filled up) each and every one of those 24 vials. When I went to see my doctor 2 weeks later and asked why he insisted on taking so much blood, he shuddered and said that no one should ever have reason to take more than 17 vials maximum. Luckily, I am a good bleeder and that she didn't bruise me in either arm, but seriously-not sure of the sterility of this lab or the professionalism of the people working here. Survey says.....FAIL!

The lab corp locations that were on Camino Ramon in the…read morebusiness park has been consolidated and moved to the Alcosta business park with the other offices. There used to be 2 Lab Corp in that business park, but now there's just 1 Lab Corp in San Ramon. I have only been to the Alcosta location a couple times, and I find it very busy. I will probably return to it because it is the closest to me. The wait can be very long. I find it is best to schedule an appointment ahead of time, but early morning appointments seem to fill up fast. Even with an appointment, there can still be a wait. The waiting room is definitely very small and it feels very crowded too. You check in via the kiosk and wait for your name to be called. I find even if I have an appointment, I am not called within the time frame and can wait a bit. Parking here is pretty easy. As for the phlebotomists, I haven't had good luck with them but they are okay. I really like the ones at the older location who did a better job. I had to be poked more than once here and they had trouble with my vein. At the previous location, they were really good with everything and I felt very comfortable. They are still very competent here but I suppose it could be better.

Maybe have phlebotomist do blood and insurance specialist check in???

Tell me I had gout in my knee and after a month of meds and diet, she had me come in for a blood test for gout. Then I call for my results and she doesn't know why I thought I had gout. Finally, she opens my chart and says that since the medicine didn't work, as I don't have gout, I need to see an orthopedist. I'm so disappointed in the lack of knowledge and response.

They told me to come 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Okie dokie. I arrive early and talk to a bored and inattentive receptionist. I fill out my paperwork, and shortly afterwards I meet my doctor, Juliana Wong. I picked her because I figure an Asian American female would be the most comfortable for me; plus, I was planning on having a pap smear and blood work done, and a man simply wouldn't do. She quickly went over my paperwork and checked everything she could. I was on my (woman's time) so we couldn't do a pap smear and rescheduled for a month later. She asked me if I had eaten in the last 12 hours; of course... no one told me not to, so I had breakfast. So bloodwork was going to be added onto my next visit. I asked if my coming again would result in another visitation payment, and she said yes. Throughout the whole visit, she was rushing and seemed like she was in a hurry to get to the next patient. I was explaining my digestion problems and she was looking around, rushing my answers and was eager to leave. She wrote a hasty prescription of probiotics, quickly shook my hand and left. I went to the counter again where a different but equally indifferent and rude girl was sitting. I talked to her for a little bit and then left. I get it. It's in the middle of downtown Danville, where everyone is white and rich. I'm not saying they're racist (because, well, they have an Asian-American doctor, who, to my defense, is a banana). But if weath = rudeness, I'd rather go to a less snooty neighborhood to get the kind of attention I want from a healthcare provider, not as cattle.

Whenever she is the one helping me, the experience is always a positive one. Whether she is drawing my blood or handling my paperwork, she is consistently kind, patient, professional, and excellent at what she does. That means a lot to me, especially because I often have a lot of tests, which can feel overwhelming. She always handles everything with so much care and understanding, and it truly makes a difference. Also, for anyone concerned about wait times, having an appointment usually makes the process much smoother than walking in.

LABCORP * 1 star. PATRICE ***** 5 stars…read more I wish there were a separate page on which to give a review for a staff person. My two stars are just two of the five and more stars deserved by the hard working, patient staff members working this last Saturday, March 14 morning at this way understaffed location. They deserve five stars for their courage and courtesy. The gentleman at the front desk was, you could sense, way overworked, but holding up well despite all that, and maintaining his courteous, patient self. Thank you, sir! I want to ESPECIALLY commend PATRICE, my technician (I so hope I remembered her name correctly), for her professionalism and her caring interest in her patients. While drawing my blood, Patrice inquired about my amount of daily water intake, I think because my veins are small and difficult to see well. And she proceeded to discuss with me ways to get enough water each day. She was kind, cheerful and interested in me as her patient. This kind of caring is rare. Her draw was also painless. Now back to Labcorp issues. My husband and I have been using this lab for a long time, starting with its location within the hospital building. We have watched it fall off a cliff as the corporation has become way understaffed. Last year, with an appointment, I waited forty five minutes on a Saturday morning for my fasting labs. Yesterday I had a 9:30 a.m. appointment. I got there at 9:15, did my sign in from the car by their new texting sign in system, and got texted right away to come up to the desk inside . My heart rose! The lab lobby was just jammed with patients. My heart sank. But I got called for desk sign in immediately! My heart rose! I did about five more minutes of sign in at the desk, and then got called for my draws within only about five minutes (interestingly, along with several other patients.) My heart sang! I was hopeful! BUT THEN, I waited for a full half hour in the blood draw room. My heart and my hopes for a Labcorp revival plummeted! My husband had a 9:35 a.m. appointment, and waited in total, about 40 minutes to get tested. It would appear that Labcorp is trying to streamline patient processing time by putting in new, automated patient sign in methods, and perhaps changing their patient call in process (8 patients called in at once?) But without enough staff it's pretty useless, besides adding to our overly robotic life experience. There have been many signs of employee burnout over the past year or two at the desk, as well. I truly feel for anyone trying to work for Labcorp these days. One would think that somehow Labcorp could lower their profit goals just enough to provide the kind of quality service that people need. John Muir, WHERE ARE YOU in this matter that is affecting so many lives? We at least need other lab company options. Has Labcorp become a monopoly? We are genuinely puzzled. But again, PATRICE, YOU ARE AN ANGEL! YOU ARE THE ORIGINAL REASON FOR MY WANTING TO WRITE A REVIEW! I hope you can see it through to where Labcorp and John Muir get their act together and can once again provide good service and a really good work experience to worthy employees like you! Thank you for being there!

From viewing their website, there's 2-labs, 10101 or 10103 building. No signs on the 10101 building indicating there's a lab. Supposedly this lab opens at 7am, but with no signage, I couldn't figure out where it is. The 10103 building is the main hospital. When I went to the main desk, the security guard was sound asleep (seriously, sound asleep). After waking him, he tells me to go to the lower level. I go to the lower level and see nothing that looks like a lab. I'm getting pissed because I purposely tried to get here before 7am. When I return to the desk, I just start asking random employees who are arriving to work. A nurse ends up helping me. She informs the security guard that I need to first register and than go to the 2nd floor lab. While I'm registering, I ask that person about the 10101 lab. She tells me that it's a separate entity. I'm convinced that this is the one I wanted because to go to the one I'm at now, I have to register as a patient, which is a hassle. The 10103 lab opens at 7:30 am.
