First off I am going to say this, Seth is a master of his craft. His work speak volumes and while you will see complaints about his wait times you won't see many complaints about his work. I think we are so used to Amazon, you order it and 2 days later you have it. Seth is not a salesman, or your customer is always right kind of guy. Get over it. I was given a date to have my seat in and it was there. I contacted him several times to check the status and he explained he was busy and it was the holidays. A couple weeks past the due date Seth calls me. We have an hour long conversation about everything I could and would want from a seat. 2 days later my seat was at my door. That weekend I decided to see if the hype was worth it and let me say it was. Went for 400 miles on a bike I loved, a former oem seat I couldn't ride 100 miles on, but this time it was a new Seth Laam creation. Not a hitch. That seat was a dream! In 2018 shortly after the purchase of my 2008 BMW R1200GSA I discovered the seat that came with it was garbage and looked into having a custom seat built. I was familiar with Seth's previous employer and loved the work. I contacted him and sent the photos of me on the bike and a few weeks later had the a saddle that could go multiple 500 mile days. He reshaped the pan and reduced the bulk (useless foam) and far and away it is the ride I've ever enjoyed. Fast forward 70,000 miles and 7 years of wear and tear I contacted Seth about making repairs or a rebuild for wear spots that had occurred as a result of misuse and age. I sent the seat off and repairs were made to like new condition. Couldn't be more pleased with his work and the repairs restored the seat to like new condition. Seth Laam is the most arrogant A-hole you will ever talk to. I called him about customizing my seat and was about to place the order. I'm a web designer, and a digital marketing expert, and during our conversation I asked him if he was aware that his website was not "mobile-friendly" and that he could potentially be losing customers to the competition. So many people buy online with their smart phone, and if they can't get what they need from a website they will simply move on to another company. I was simply trying to help the man. He got so angry and said to me- "your exactly the type of customer I won't deal with" and hung up on me! So, the moron lost a customization job (apparently doesn't care) and I moved on to the competition. Fortunately, I found Mean City Cycles (https://www.meancitycycles.com/) and could not be happier. They provided excellent customer service, great communication throughout the process and a great price. I recently sent my seat in to be redone by Seth and I have to say after it went to him we had a little miscommunication and I thought all was to be lost. I'm a firm believer that people are allowed to have a bad day and we talked like civil individuals and he built an absolutely amazing seat and got it to me in time to hit an amazing 2800 mile adventure. In the end I have a wonderful seat and hopefully a long time relationship with a person who performs wonderful craftsmanship. The reason I feel it necessary to add the little part of a glitch is that there's always a possibility that these things can happen and if you just give a person a chance you too can find that amazing craftsmanship. Can I give a "-" rating??? Called Seth in November 2021 to set a manufacturing date for the seat. He scheduled it for February 2022. Great. Called him in January 2022 to make sure we're on schedule. Yup, no problem. 2nd week in February, still no call. Called to check in. Yup, no problem. February 25th, still no call. Called to see when things might be able to start. He says "I'll get to it when I get to it". Asked him is it 1 week, 2 weeks, something else? He says "I'll get to it when I can. I'll just take you off the seat exchange list." Told him forget it. What a complete unprofessional, arrogant jack hole. All this time wasted to get a seat in time for a long distance ride that was planned. Not a way to run a business. I have to admit I was bit skeptical at ordering a custom seat for my motorcycle online. It's not like ordering an OEM part. Laam Seats were professional and courteous through out the whole process including the inital email inquiring if they could make a seat for me and what the cost would be. Let me just say that what I paid is a much better deal then buying a Corbin or one of the other pre-manufactured "custom" seats. Once getting through the initial quoting and shipping my seat to them, the turn around time was like an insane 24 hours! Seth Laam himself called me and discussed what my need was (all day comfort) and what materials I wanted. He stated on that call that he'd have it shipping on the truck that same day! Seth was polite and helpful with explaining things and why my original choices weren't right for me. Seth knows exactly what needs to be done based on ride height, weight and needs. Once my seat was finished and arrived, I put it on and took a short ride with it. I must say it is a day and night difference from the stock OEM seat! I felt more tucked in and in control since there was a slight contour in the "meaty area" of my backside. It is scooped out just right without sacrificing comfort or handling. I could tell immediately that I could easily ride much longer on this seat than the OEM butt buster that came with the bike. One thing I will mention, is that I do detect a little more vibration in the seat compared to the OEM seat. Not a big deal but, I did notice it. All in all, I am very pleased with the work Seth did on this and with his staff that helped out along the way. His team is professional and courteous. I scheduled a ride-in appointment on Thursday. Seth and Jesse were very informative guiding me through the entire process while I hung around waiting for the completed replacement seat for my Honda CBR650F. Seth made me feel very welcome at this shop/home, showed me where the amenities were for entertainment if I got "bored" with watching them assemble the seat. I never did watch Netflix on the outdoor TV on the patio. But, he prepared me a nice cup of coffee with all the fixings. 2.5 hours later, the seat is complete and I'm on my way back to Medford. It's like riding on glass with miniature air bubbles in between caressing my bum. LOL! Couldn't be happier with the care, information, and the price. This is a two-story review. I had my Concours seat done by him 3 years ago and the transaction went smoothly in 2019. Fast forward to March 2022 when I contacted him to build a seat on my new bike. I informed him that I had an important ride in April and if it was best to do the build after my ride. His reply was very upbeat and gave me a late March build date and straight-up promised it would be done in time. Well after stressing and contacting him several times he managed to keep the date true. I commend him on this! Now the part that pissed me off. I referred my friend who is like a brother to Seth Laam. He gave my friend an earlier build date than mine. Needless to say, the build never happened as of the typing of this review. Following Laam's directions of you can always call me or text me, my friend sent a text when it was already three weeks past the anticipated build date. My friend's message simply read "Any updates on the build?" His smart ass reply "The update is I'm working." Followed by "I'll call." How would the normal person interpret this? Call that day, that week? Well no, call for the build as I type this never happened. My friend who was insulted by his arrogant reply leaves it alone for about two weeks. My friend asks me since I had such an easy experience if I would call him. I said sure! I called him and explained how the build date was already over a month behind. Laam said " So you are calling for your friend? Why doesn't he just call me?" Valid response. I explained that the text exchange they had was taken rudely. Ok, this is where DEFCON 1 happens. Laam proceeds to twist off saying "So you think you can just call and pull some strings?" I explain that's not what I'm doing. I am trying to bridge the communication between the two. Laam then begins cursing at me when I inform him he is being a jerk. This did not sit well with him. The unpleasantries go back and forth and he tells me that he is not going to do my friend's seat and I needed to get his information so he could ship it back. I said, "I will get him to call you with the info." Laam then says "No, you called for him you call me back." Ordering me to call!? I informed him he isn't going to order me to do sh!t. Well, I could keep typing because there is more. So the moral is that Laam isn't a professional businessman and he ultimately is punishing my friend for a conversation he and I had. What a piece! I hope this review stops people to just think for one minute if this is really a person they want to do business with. Hell Russell Day Long seats are nearly the same price and far more customized to you as the rider. His questions for the seat making are very generic and can't be tailored to you as the customer to a satisfactory level. I wouldn't let him upholster a toilet seat after this experience! read more

I have looked around for different seat manufacturers from my Yamaha super 10, I bought one from Seith lamm seats and was very impressed with the product I received. He does almost all of his business on the phone and he is a very busy man. I waited in queue for several months because of his backlog but it was worth the wait. Every time I go knock on my motorcycle I go out for 12 or more hours on a given weekend and have no issues with the seat I don't even use a backrest. I talked to him about a backrest and I could have got one from him but he told me to try to see that first and if I still need a backrest because I go out for a long periods at a time to let him know and he can put one in for me. He was correct after using the seat I did not need a backrest it's a extremely comfortable seat very durable and good-looking seat and very long range based riding. He is very customer oriented and stands behind his work I highly recommend him. read more
