Just one fourth of their pastry/baked good case.

Had some idle time and was craving a burrito. Did a search for Mexican food near me and La Yolanda popped up as a location close by. Saw someone comment on their hot food (chilaquiles and burritos) even though it appears to be a bakery. La Yolanda was about a 5-min walk so I decided to go for it. It is a place I would easily pass by without a thought. Inside is unassuming, no menus on the walls, but a few pictures near the counter with pictures of food items and prices on the pictures. Large case of delicious looking pastries and baked goodies. Eight to ten tables, half are booths along the front window. Mounted from the ceiling was one was TV from which I heard Spanish being spoken. I looked at all the baked goods, but since I was craving savory, I stuck with ordering a burrito. A soft-spoken young woman behind the counter took my order. I told her I just wanted a burrito and asked if they had chili Colorado, and if not, chicken would be great. She said she would ask in the back, took my order, I paid for the burrito ($9.99, but totaled $10.89 including tax) and she went back to the kitchen. While I waited I looked again at the baked goods and saw a sign on the case with fruit filled pastries, and decided I should try one with guava (just $1.50 each!) However, I had no idea which of them were the guava pastries, so I went back to the counter to ask for help. There was a couple who had just taken their selected pastries to the counter, so I waited to for the employee to complete the transaction with them. She then went to look at the pastries and when she came over to me, broke the bad news that all the guava pastries were gone. Another Yelp reviewer suggested ordering 10-15min ahead, I think that was good advice, and should have heeded it, but figured I'd wing it. I ended up waiting close to 15min waiting for my burrito, and was so happy to receive my order, nice and hot, from a woman who brought it to me from their kitchen. My burrito was hefty, and my stomach was growling... I didn't want to wait until I got back to my destination, so I unwrapped one end as I was walking back, and dug in. I didn't know if my burrito was chili Colorado or chicken, but at that point it didn't matter. Took a bite and found it was the former. It was good, hot, the beef was tender and nicely flavored, accompanied with refried beans, cheese and rice. I was a happy camper! I ended up polishing off half of the burrito, saving the other half for lunch. I would go back again if I am in the area. Very curious to try the guava filled pastry.

My husband has returned for the pan dulce as it's one of the closer panaderías. They have now added cabinet doors to the shelves. The pan dulce is decent and my kids like it, I still think its on the drier side. We have tried the tamales and they were super fresh and flavorful however very little meat.

Omg my grand father gets me pan dulce and coffee from here and it hits the spot every time. It reminds me of Home. When I am in Stockton La Yolanda is a must for breakfast. They have really good tamales as well!!

This is a humble restaurant but they have great food and pan dulce. One of those places that you're not sure if it will be good. It is a little rough around the edges, and the kitchen seem to be run by a single person. Still they push food out, and not just any food. Quality food.

Yooo word to your mother these are some of the best tamales ever! I'm hard to please when it comes to tamales everywhere I go they seem to be dry ! Dry ! Dry ! Not here the ! The masa is amazing ! Slippin on this place if you don't try

Went to La Yolanda for dinner. Ordered chicken flautas. It's supposed to come with 2 and the sweet owner put in an extra one. They were so crispy and delicious! This place is a hidden gem. Please go in and try out their fresh and delicious menu items. Also, they offer pan dulce that smells divine when you walk in. Will definitely go again!

Our table was right next to a metal utility rack they were using to store menus and cleaning products. That's fine, but my head was close to a spray bottle and a bottle of Lysol, which wasn't ideal. They were very busy, so we had high hopes for great food. Unfortunately, many of the items were bland. The beans and rice were especially underwhelming, with very little flavor--you can tell from the picture that the rice is basically plain white rice. My flautas were crunchy with fresh toppings, but the meat lacked flavor. My meal came with a bowl of fideo, but it wasn't delivered before my meal like it was for other tables. In fact, I had to ask for it after our food arrived, which makes me think I wouldn't have received it otherwise. After we finished eating, it took about 15 minutes to get our check. The servers were clearly very busy, but it would have been nice to leave sooner. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back. The noise level was overwhelming, and the food was just okay. If I did return, I wouldn't order anything that comes with beans and rice.

She was very nice and helpful. We shared a piña con coco cocktail, which I really enjoyed. It had a spicy rim and was sweet, but not too sweet. We ordered the guacamole, which was made tableside. I ordered the enchiladas al comal, which looked really good. Unfortunately, I didn't love the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas and wished I had ordered a more traditional red or green sauce. But it was still good, and I can see why it's popular. I did enjoy the steak and vegetables inside the enchiladas. I was leaning toward a 4-star rating since I didn't love my enchiladas and wouldn't order them again. But Isabella's service was so excellent that it alone pushed my review to a 5.

The prickly pear margarita tasted more like a pink Jolly Rancher than anything else, which just wasn't for me. My fajitas were alright, but they came without any sour cream or guac and the pico was mainly onion. When I asked the waiter, he told me they don't come with it, even though the menu said otherwise. Without those, the fajitas ended up being really dry. I ended up just paying and getting ready to leave, but when I grabbed a menu again and asked about it, they apologized and offered me chips and salsa to go, which I appreciated. The staff was very nice throughout, but the whole experience felt a bit disorganized. Overall, it just didn't feel like a good value for the money, and I left pretty underwhelmed.

We came here on a whim last weekend, and OMG, I'm so glad we did. The restaurant is small and not in the greatest location, but the food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. I went with the build-your-own combo plate and chose a cheese enchilada, beef taco, and beef flautas. My entire plate was delicious, including the rice and beans. The homemade tortillas were so fresh and tasty. Everyone in our party of four enjoyed their food. We split the three-piece quesabirria tacos, and they were excellent. I chose the gravy cheese enchilada for my combo plate, but I also tried my partner's green chili chicken enchilada--both were great. You can choose between red, green, or gravy sauce for the enchiladas, and I definitely want to try the red next time. Don't be turned off by the unassuming storefront and corner location. I chose La Mesa because the first time we went I was very impressed with the delicious drinks and the short rib enchiladas. The atmosphere is so special and intimate whether you're on a date or with family. Both times we went, our servers were friendly and checked on us appropriately. Our server yesterday was handling making drinks at the bar and serving other tables that were there for Valentine's Day, but she still provided us with really good customer service (not sure of her name but she was wearing a pink shirt). We ordered a few drinks that included a strawberry horchata with rum, and a special one for Valentine's Day called the cupids kiss. They really stood out to me with how cute and yummy they were. For an appetizer, we ordered birria French fries. I was surprised that it had the consommé because I assumed it would make the fries soggy.... But it did not! They were AMAZING. The birria was tender and delicious, the flavor had a lot of depth in the consommé. For our entrees, we both cannot get enough of the short rib enchiladas with the mole sauce. They are our favorite. I really am just grateful that there is a restaurant like this that cares about the food they share with their customers. In the past, we ate at restaurants for my birthday where they didn't take as much pride or care about what they served. My birthday dinner at La Mesa felt very special to me and my boyfriend. Thanks a bunch we look forward to our return visit!

As for the crispy tacos, there's a big difference between tacos that are freshly and properly fried and those that are overcooked in rancid oil. Unfortunately, what I received fell into the latter category, which is simply unacceptable. The service was also lackluster and apathetic. ----------- Jeff Berretta, no one is questioning the quality of the products served at your restaurants--La Mesa, Market Tavern, or Prime Table. The real issue is that your kitchen is ruining these high-quality ingredients. Perhaps you should try sampling them yourself to ensure better quality control. Additionally, before criticizing your customers online, I suggest you act with more professionalism. I regularly dine at your locations in Stockton and Dublin. While I do find your food overpriced and the service rather pretentious, that's not my main concern here. The real problem is your attitude. Next time I visit Market Tavern, I intend to address this with you in person and see if you live up to the online persona you project. Wishing you all the best in your role until then.
