On our last night in Moltrasio, we walked from our hotel over to La Veranda for one last supper. We were seated right away, ordered wine, and started through the menu. We all settled on our first and second course and our server was promptly at the table to take our order. Mr. Bee ordered the Meat Ravioli in a cream sauce to start and it was excellent. The ravioli were perfectly cooked, and the filling was tender, and flavorful. I started with Paccheri, a wide pasta noodle like a rigatoni, but smooth and larger. The sauce was a roasted cherry tomato sauce with a basil olive oil drizzle. It was incredible. Italians certainly know how to make and cook pasta to perfection. For our second course, Mr. Bee had Veal Cheeks over Polenta. He loved every bite. I ordered a Filet of Beef and on the side was Polenta, and grilled baby artichokes. Both were delicious. The filet could have been a bit more tender, but it had a rich beefy flavor. It was the perfect end to an amazing trip. read more

We were staying in Moltrasio for 3 nites and our favorite restaurant, del Fagiano, was closed on the 2nd nite, so we drove down to the lake front & found La Veranda. It's in a small family hotel La Posta. Casual dining in a warm & comfortable setting. The food, wine & service was excellent. read more

For each of three years I have stayed here for a week or so. I often describe it as my favourite hotel in the world. It is not pretentious or fancy, but somehow everything comes out in elegant balance and grace -- the views, the food, the ease, and, above all, the skill, caring and kindness of the professional staff. read more

The food and service at this restaurant were excellent. We each had an individual pasta first course and choose to share the salt baked fish selection for two. They presented the whole baked fish to us before breaking the salt crust and serving us individual portions tableside. You would think fish prepared in this manner would taste salty, but that is not the case at all. The fish was moist and very flavorful. The freshly roasted vegetables accompanying the fish were perfectly cooked with a very light touch of olive oil salt pepper and lemon. Everything blended well together and we left nothing on our plates. We shared a tiramisu for dessert that was light and freshly made which was also excellent. We shared a bottle of prosecco from the modest but more than an adequate wine list and finished with a digestif. Dinner service was attentive and relaxed even though the restaurant was fully occupied that evening. One of our most enjoyable dinning experiences during our four night stay in Como. read more
