The Ruiz Family enjoyed our school trip to La Union Maze this fall. It was nice to have the whole place to ourselves. Less crowds, less worry about losing my two kiddos. The first thing you notice as you walk in is the amount of space that the grounds have. If you walk in you'll notice the food stands to the left and some covered picnic areas immediately to the right. If you walk past the picnic areas, you'll run into some activity areas. The food is expectedly pricey, but you don't have to eat there... just plan ahead. Noah found some friends and headed for the huge slide, after going down that a few times; he went to the ball toss areas. Noemi found her own friends and dragged Liz the other way. They ran through the garden maze first, and found a bounce area. Both kids found the large corn maze area and explored it with their respective friends. We spent a good 30min at least in the long trail. After the kids got done with the maze, they went to hang out and feed the penned up goats. Noemi in particular couldn't wait for the pig race. Noah and I took a tractor ride to the pumpkin patch, wandered around, but we didn't buy any pumpkins or gourds that day. The folks were super friendly - whether it be at the maze, the activities, the food stands... they were all friendly. They have some food options. We ate beforehand, but we got some lemonades and waters to keep us going. La Union has plenty of parking in a lot right out front. The recommendation to bring sunscreen and bug spray is legit... keep it handy. Lookin' forward to next year. read more

The grandkids had lots of fun. There were plenty of fun activities for them to do. They painted pumpkins, rode lots of slides & also we went to the pumpkin patch for them to pick out pumpkins. The food was good. We had the brisket burger combos & cheeseburger combos. The food was good and so was the lemonade. The food service was quick and convenient. The lemonade was also delicious. It can get a little expensive as you have to pay extra for things like purchasing pumpkins and also painting pumpkins. The only bad thing about the trip was that the place is infested with mosquitoes. I'm talking thousands of mosquitoes everywhere!! we were able to purchase some mosquito spray at the little store they have there, but even after we covered our bodies with the mosquitoes were still attacking us call Lynn all it was a fun time for everybody read more

Took our family here early October and we all really enjoyed ourselves. I have 5 kiddos of varying ages and there was something for everyone. The older kids enjoyed, the large maze (there is a smaller one too), feeding the farm animals, the tire rolling race, going down the steep slide with tubes (there is a height requirement and it is a blast!). My younger ones enjoyed the train and tractor rides, mechanical horse (sounds more thrilling than it was, but they couldn't get enough lol), and jumping on the jumbo trampoline. Lots to do! Definitely order tickets online because the price is different in-person and includes tax. Ages 2 and under are free. I think they open @ 11 am. Get there right at or within 30 minutes of opening or prepare to park far and wait in a long line. There are 2 lines - 1 for online pre-purchased tickets and the other for at-the-door tickets. Again, prices are different if not paid in advance. There's a pumpkin patch but I never seen it. I think the hayride takes you out to it. Meh. Allergies. Food was overpriced, but to be expected. We ended up staying until we got hungry and left to go to the taco shop. In order to buy specialty food concessions (like kettle corn or funnel cake) you have to pre-purchase tokens which are $5 each. Food items typically cost 1-2 tokens each. They know how to get ya! Now that I know what to expect, next year we may try coming on a weekday during the kids Fall intercession. We don't celebrate Halloween, but love the Fall season. This was a nice, fun outing for us. I follow their instagram and saw that they were open for a few days during the week so we went and it wasn't busy at all! Which is great because my oldest likes to wander and I worry about losing him in crowds. They have SO many activities for kids - slides galore, basketball, baseball carnival type games, giant jumping "platforms", and of course the mazes. We didn't do the mazes cause we ran out of time, but looks like you could easily get lost in those. I want to complain about $5 kettle corn but it was so tasty that my boys refused to share with me. Coming from the northeast (Jersey) I've experienced my fair share of epic pumpkin patches. Many I've been to outside of Jersey don't hold a candle, but I must say, La Union goes all out to make it a super entertaining event. I've talked to some people who go three and four times before Halloween. It's that good. What's great is that you pay the up front price and everything is included. That includes all the slides, maze, pumpkin patch ride, games, and little cattle ride. My kids absolutely loved it. I think the pony ride was the only thing we laid for. They have food and drinks there, places to sit and a few good spots for photos. Bring bug spray, there were mosquitoes. read more

Fun time for all! Especially if you have kids. They are a few mazes. We got lost on everyone, maze. And I consider myself a good navigator. Pig races were so cute to watch. Our family did side bets. Small rides for kiddos. A hayride. Games for all. Our favorite was duck race crank thing. We had brisket nachos. Not bad a all. A haunted house. Can go a night or during the day. No bugs. It was our first time going to this maze and we were unfortunate enough to go during their busy hours. I hadn't done enough research and didn't expect it to be as bad as what some of the other reviews mentioned. It was my mother, 3yo, and me and we pretty much wasted $30 for being on the actual grounds for about 15-20min trying to explore. There were barely any lights, so I don't understand how anyone could enjoy the stations, especially for the little ones and for their safety. Each area is shared with all ages, nothing seemed separated or specific for the little kids from the older ones. I was highly disappointed. read more

Loved loved loved it! So fun (especially if you have kids). I thought the prices were fair, it was 12 dollars per ticket for adults. You got to do any of the corn mazes and the hay ride to the pumpkin patch for free. All the food and most of the activities for kids cost "tokens," which were $4.50 each. I wasn't too bothered by this price, pretty much everything was one token, so they go a long way. There's a store that didn't really have any cool gifts. I was hoping to find a T-shirt, which I did, but it wasn't very unique. However, there was a ton to do outside! There were two huge bouncy-fields for kiddos, multiple slides, zip-lining, Pony rides, tractor rides, and a lot of food! There's a big tent in the middle with tables that was a relief for us when we got hot. There are a few mazes: one in the middle for kids, and three corn mazes on the right hand side. You are given a map prior to starting the main mazes- I would advise looking at the maps for a few minutes before starting because it's very easy to get lost (bring a pen)! It took us about 30-40 minutes to go through the longer maze without many mistakes. There are workers that walk through the maze incase you get lost and need help getting out, so that's a relief. Long lines for everything. Food is massively overpriced. Corn on the cob isn't even local but trucked in from California. We waited almost 1.5 hours to enter through a massive line underneath hot sun. Once inside, its mayhem to get food. They ran out of anything decent enough to eat (only hot dogs). The food line doesn't serve drinks- that's another line. If you like lines, flies, dust, crowds, overpriced food- this is the place for you. We won't be coming back again. read more

I've been to all three corn maze and this is the best one! The maze this year was very hard though... We did not make it through and went back out the exit after well over an hour in the "45 minute " maze. We love the giant jumping balloons and slides which are super fun for adults and kids! All Activities are free once you pay admission except for select few like pony rides. Good bang for your buck, expect to spend all day here! read more

Really enjoy this place year after year, but there are a few tricks that are important... 1. Go early in the season and early in the day. This place gets very crowded as the fall season progresses & people like to come in around noon and stay through the afternoon. 2. The little kiddie train and pumpkin patch train have long lines late in the day, but if you get in early and do those first, you'll have much less frustration. 3. There is a military discount. You'll want to use it if it applies to your situation. Tickets aren't cheap. 4. Fall snacks/junk food is your only option. Eat big before going, then grab kettle corn or another snack inside, if you wish. 5. Must buy tokens for snacks. Again, a line. If you know you're going to want snacks, might want to get tokens right when you get there and hang onto them until you're ready to purchase. 6. There are church groups and soccer teams that all get together and go in big groups, setting up shop under one of the tents, and park it. They usually go mid-to-late season. Again, crowds later in the season. 7. Take bug spray and sunscreen. You're in the valley where things grow and are watered, plenty of biting bugs. You need sunscreen anywhere in El Paso year-round. 8. Take shoes you're comfortable with getting dirty. Grass and dust is everywhere. Enjoy! This place was like visiting a Walmart on Black Friday! I really wanted to enjoy this place---but sadly, NO. I took my 2 and 4 year old here for a fun time. We recently moved to El Paso from Virginia where we went to pumpkin patches every fall, but were sadly disappointed; and this is why: The downside: Cost: adult admission was $12, Children 2-5- $6. That is a total of $36 for the four of us but they did not allow outside food or beverage, so you also were at the mercy of their junk food...hot dogs, potato chips, pop corn or brisket only for purchase using tokens. You either had to guess how many tokens you would need before you came in, or stand in a huge line for tokens once inside....just to stand in another line for the food. Plus, it was so crowded we didn't get to do half the things they had. Crowds: We took our kids after nap time around 4:30 PM. When we got there, it was so crowded, there was an hour wait to even get in. There were quite a few ticket windows but only 3-4 were open due to them being "short staffed." For the money they make off people coming in, you would think they could afford more staff. I actually saw people leaving from line and we almost turned around when we saw the crowd. Had we not already drove 40 minutes with small children who completely expected a day at the pumpkin patch--we would have also left. Anyone who has small children knows that this is not ideal. This is especially horrible when they stop the trains to the pumpkin patch at 6:00 P.M. We got inside at went straight for the train to the patch so as not to miss it but the line was just as long as the one we stood in to get in...NO WAY my toddlers were doing that again....so they missed it. The website does say the first two weeks and last two weeks are less crowded, but due to previous plans, we could only go today. Maybe waiting until last minute is the trick; alas we will never know because I will never go back to this mess of a place again. We waited 3 cycles to even jump on the bounce area, 20 minutes for the zip line, 15 minutes for the big slide (the first time- when we went back it was twice as long and no more bags left), as time went on the lines got worse. More teens came in and they seemed to take over all the rides even the ones for smaller children. I am guessing it is worse then VA because it is one of the only "games" in town. I was surprised to see so many people there without kids...must be the evening crowd for the maze. (lots of teens and people seemingly on dates) Lack of supervision/dangerous conditions- I am not squeamish when it comes to my small boys; however, there are basic life rules I expect people to follow (or at least parents to enforce)--especially when small children are involved. There were several small slides in the area that were perfect for my little guys (2 and 4) to go on. However, they were inundated with larger kids (8-15) who actually pushed my toddlers out of the way and cut in front of at every opportunity. I actually had to play referee a few times (no idea where the older kids parents were) because there was absolutely no supervision from the establishment on the smaller slides. How can a place charge $36 for a family (2 of which were toddlers) and not afford staff to supervise?????? ridiculous. They had to have made hundreds of thousands of dollars off the season and didn't seem to care about anyone's experience. very frustrating. Tips: -Bugs everywhere- bring bug spray. -If you are there during daylight hours, sunscreen up- no shade. -Feed your kids before you go- long lines for food and not a lot of variety. The snack lines were shorter and accepted cash instead of tokens. We skipped the tokens and survived on popcorn, chips, and fruit snacks to avoid a 30 minute line for a hot dog. -ignore the neighbors $5.00 parking sign. We found people were always leaving the main lot and it was free. -pack TP, the porta johns had no lines but were often empty of toilet paper. -Pack wet wipes. this is the dustiest, dirtiest place I have been since Iraq...and very little room for cleaning -buy your tickets online before you go-- much shorter line at the front of the main line if you have your online tix purchases already. Check their website for the link. Kudos: - Kettle corn was amazing. - Management was apologetic about the lines and them being short staffed. They refunded the money I spent on tokens for food (i was not about to stand in a 30 min line for a hot dog) - Kids loved the activities they did get to go on- even though most had too long of lines and many were too much like WWF events to go on Bottom line: go at an off time (according to website- last couple of weekends or first) and bring your patience. read more
