I believe this restaurant has just opened recently because we specifically went to this place for years when it was the ice creamery. The garden area is lush, serene and very peaceful compared to street front seating. The potential is there, and this could be a favorite of mine except for a couple of easy fixes by the establishment, if they are willing to gain customers including regular customers such as the many retirees who live here. Portion size could be increased or the price lowered to match value. The tortas were made on a fresh baguette (which I prefer to more traditional and larger torta rolls) and the fries were all quite delicious, but on the small side. Especially the fries which would be an easy, inexpensive fix. The naranja aguas frescas were so fresh and tasty. FYI - they include a line item for the tip, which I would have gone with but the service was lacking this particular day. I saw another patron get up and leave after not being waited on for too long. I don't like leaving reviews like this, and I do hope to see La Tulumeña improve and succeed. There is a lot of competition in this fast growing area, and it would be nice to see some consistency. Good luck! read more
