This is an Italian restaurant within the all inclusive Barcelo resort complex (more specifically within the Barcelo Maya Mall). So pretty much anything on the menu is fair game. You just order an entree and the antipasti /salad bar and choice of dessert comes with it. It should be noted that they have a wine list that's not included as part of the all inclusiveness - otherwise people would run roughshod over all the expensive bottles of wine lol.
The service was attentive and friendly. The ambience feels like a fun family, slightly upscale Italian restaurant.
I think you have to make reservations since everything is all included so you just make sure you have the spot. I didn't make reservations, though my friend whose wedding it was took care of that.
I ordered the linguine with the frutti di mare. I thought it was pretty good. The salad and antipasti wasn't super extensive, but it had pretty good options. It also has a giant wheel of parmigiano reggiano cheese which I was getting a bunch of and for my pasta. I chose a tiramisu for my dessert which was good. There is a house red and white wine that is included so I got the red.
For entertainment, there were some guys that came out and chef's uniforms that sounded like they had some classical opera training. And they sang for people. I'm not sure if you have to tip them, but we did.
All in all, I thought this place was very enjoyable and it had some sleek decoration. We all had fun together as a group and I think that's what really matters. read more
