An enthusiastic THUMBS UP for La Tranquera. They were rather full on a Sunday afternoon, and yet they seated us anyway at a great table. The empanadas were amazing! I grew up eating my aunt's empanadas, and I thought I knew how empanadas should taste. As soon as La Tranquera's empanadas arrived at our table, I forgot every other empanada I have ever eaten. These delicious, light and airy pockets of perfection are the new standard for me. We had one of each flavor, and while they were all incredible, the carne criolla one was my favorite. We also had a delicious bowl of samorejo, a creamy, cold tomato soup with tiny pieces of jamon and delicate slices of hard boiled egg. First time for me, but I am a convert. Great food, friendly service, welcoming atmosphere. All in all, a wonderful experience.
Wonderful service. My wife found this place on Yelp while traveling to Cordoba. It was a 20 minute walk from our hotel through small windy streets and alleys. We felt totally safe the entire walk. The food was just amazing, after several days of underwhelming meals. The food was so good- we went back with the group we were traveling with. Must try- provoleta, chicken empanadas, shrimp app, grilled pork shoulder. read more
Prior to our trip to Spain, I had found this restaurant on Yelp and saved it in my Cordoba folder. So glad I did because we were so busy that finding and deciding on a spot for every meal took too much time with a large group. We ventured out one night for gelato and ended up here for empanadas instead. It was so good that we brought the whole group back a couple of nights later. It's a small place but they have outdoor seating. The staff were all amazing and we were so impressed by all of the delicious food that was prepared by one woman (I believe her name was Pricilla). The empanadas were amazing (especially the chicken) but the real star of the show was the provoleta. May be a good thing that they are in a different country because I could eat here weekly. Don't skip on this one! read more
We had empanadas half a dozen times during our trip in Spain, and La Tranquera had the best empanadas out of all the places we tried. The crust was perfect, flaky, but not too heavy or oily. The fillings were even better, so many different interesting flavors to try and seasoned just right. Whimsical was a favorite among us, savory with a hint of sweet and sour from the tomato. Oxtail was rich and tender. Good old ham and cheese was also a favorite for the kids. Moroccan chicken had a such unique blend of spices and a hint of sweet. Yes, I am still thinking about these empanadas. read more

Delicious empanadas and coffee!! The kids and adults alike loved this place. The place is clean, and has a clean bathroom as well. I'd go back in an instant. Service was quick and polite. read more
Amazing empanadas!!! We had Oxtail, spicy beef, Argentine steak & cheese, pork pull spicy. All excellent. But the empanadas crust was impressively delicious. Sabrina was in duty yesterday evening and she was a joy... so helpful and courteous!!! read more
Enjoyable lunch of empanadas and cervezas. Sitting on the patio in 20ºC sunny weather. Empanadas: Queso - light Pollo - flavorful spices Robo de Toro - deshebrada of oxtail. Rich. Handmade, deep fried, delicious. Service was bit slow as our waiter had to handle 26 customers including a boisterous party of 10. We just relaxed and went with the flow. + flatware - Quittin with wooden handles - paper napkins €23.75 for lunch for 2. read more

I enjoyed this restaurant a lot. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. I had the capresse salad and it was outstanding. I also had steak with potatoes and salad which was also outstanding. The steak was juicy and full of flavor. It is one of my favorite places to eat in Cordoba. read more
The lunch deal here was one of the best we found on our trip through Europe. For less than 10 Euro, we could enjoy salmorejo (a cold and creamy soup with a tomato base), flamenquin (deep-fried ham and pork roll) and flan for dessert, plus bread, drinks (tinto de verano) and service all included. All this served with good cheer in a lively and convivial atmosphere. Prices are still quite reasonable at dinner, when I believe reservations are recommended. The restaurant is centrally-located and therefore in a touristy area, but a number of the other patrons appeared to be locals and/or Spaniards, which is always a good sign. read more

Yum! If you like meat and tapas, go here! We enjoyed sitting out on the patio (we had a reservation) enjoying the sunshine. There were umbrella's to provide shade as it was in the high 80's. An average sized patio area with small tables (this was a down side) as they served large plates. Three of us shared tapas and several main courses. The food was FANTASTIC! Service was on the poor side as our server never came back to check on us or ask us if we wanted more beverages (and we would have ordered more!). Although we had enough food for a "take-home box", this is not very common. I would recommend going with a small group and sharing items. The sangria is recommended (although i didn't get to order it due to our server never coming back). read more

Good food, specially the provoleta, provolon cheese. But I must to say, the service was horrible... We we were there, there was 2 person working, one of them, the girl, she was pretty kind, but the another one... He was unpleseant with everybody and rude, he looks like a small angry child, even we saw how a couple left the restaurant because he answered them in really rude way... So sad read more
