Spectacular views when you ride all the way up to the top. It's breathtaking at night when it's all lit up. It's truly a sigh to be seen. The best views are from the very top. I visited the Eiffel Tower while on a culinary arts tour of Paris awhile back and I rode up the elevator with a group of drunk Dutchmen. Ahh memories! Seriously though, it's one of the most iconic landmarks in the entire world, if not the most . Seeing it in person up close and personal is something that's like no other experience . Seeing it at dusk once the lights are up is the best way to experience it first hand. And take pictures! read more

The Eiffel tower was on my bucket list for places to go in Paris. We had a private tour which made things a lot easier. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the tower as well as the city. The views were outstanding. We were there for Bastille day which meant heavy military personnel, but going thru security check points was quick. Great tour. read more

Ma revue 200!!! :) When in Rome.... or obviously in this case, when in Paris - - - this is a MUST! I've done the waiting in line thing to go up for the views. It's pretty cool, hopefully you have a clear day so that you can see things. But on my last trip, my friend and I decided to not visit until the evening time. And... it was GORGEOUS! I got some of the best photos... absolutely spectacular. (Which made great homescreen shots on my phone.) Each night on the hour for the first 5 minutes, the tower will twinkle! It was breathtaking. Just absolutely gorgeous views and camera shots from the bridge. They say that there are better views in Paris, but going up the Eiffel is something that you really should experience on a visit to Paris. I would make a reservation online though to save time. read more

You have to do it.... right? You flew all this way, navigated the metro system, broke in your new shoes that you bought for the trip.... You gotta do it even though it is the biggest tourist trap in town. All too often when traveling you look forward to seeing a well-known landmark, and when you get there, it's smaller than what you imagined. Not the case with la Tour Eiffel. It lived up to my expectations. The vultures selling trinkets and false-armed gypsies are a bit unnerving.... but it should be expected. The wait is a little bit of a pain.... but I've been through a lot worse. Frankly, my best experience with the tower came at night. My Wife and I would finish our tasty dinner after a long day of sightseeing and walk over to the Parc du Champs de Mars and watch it glitter at the top of every hour. By the look of things, that's when the locals choose to check it out as well. Highly recommend!! read more

It's beautiful at night when it's all lit up, I didn't get to see it sparkle on the hour :-( Next time. This is probably one of the most famous landmarks on Earth! It's supposed to be a very romantic landmark, people propose, proclaim love, fall in love, make promises, but I did none of those things, I just looked at the people waiting in the queue to go up. I'll reserve online next time. When you see it from afar it is amazing, then, up close, it's even more so. I think the best time to see this might be at night, perhaps on a clear night and ride to the top and experience the city in all it's beauty. There's nothing to compare this to, it's just gorgeous! read more

Great landmark to see in sunny day from different angles. The queue to get on Top is massive, I recommend are de triomphe or Sacre Coeur as the viewing point if you do not want to wait. Watch out on pick pockets. read more

Having worked at Canada's CN Tower... I think that I can offer up some good constructive criticism as to how horrible the Eiffel Tower is logistically run. I will start off with the positive... The view is incredibly stunning once you are up top. It is definitely more visually stimulating than looking out from the CN Tower. As I have found with most Parisian tourist attractions, they really don't give a crap as to how their service levels measure up, because they know that they will never be at a shortage of tourists, and as much as we criticize their "French hospitality" - it won't stop the crowds from coming. Call it Parisian snootiness if you will. When I worked as the elevator girl at the CN Tower, we had to give a 58 second (how long it takes to get up to the first observation level) speech about the CN Tower (how long its been around, how many high speed elevators we have travelling at 22km/h, how tall the entire tower is, the height of the first observation deck, instructions on how to get to the second elevator to get up to the second observation deck) etc... We actually had to work to make our money. The elevator operators at the Eiffel Tower only care about yelling at people to stop cramming into the elevator... Their sole job is to press the stop and go button, and to BBM their friends while working. Is management sleeping? Once you are let off at the first observation level, I advise that you proceed straight to the elevators to get up to the very top and then revisit the first observation level on your way back down because otherwise, you will be extremely frustrated. Signage is horrible at the Eiffel Tower, and there is no clear indication where the UP or DOWN elevators are. We made the mistake of touring the first observation level first, and when we got upstairs it was a zoo. We had to plow backwards to find the back of the UP elevator line. People were butting right left and centre, and there was nary an attendant to be found. The elevators don't seem to be on a consistent service level as the wait times varied from one elevator to the next. Expect lineups at every elevator. read more

Everyone else here has probably covered everything you need to know about it, so I'll just add that paying to go to the top is not a must-do. In fact, I would say your time spent standing in line would be better used instead having a picnic in the grass surrounding it and taking the view in, your money better spent on a bottle of champagne to enjoy with your meal. We did it December, the line still took almost three hours to get to the top (I can't imagine what it's like in the summer!). However, we happened to get to the top right at sundown when the light show on the Tower starts up - I was sad we were missing the lights by being on the Tower, but looking down we saw thousands of camera flashes going off up toward us - it was a neat sparkling light show of its own :) read more

I can't state too much outside of what's already been said by other Yelpers, but this is a true experience. Go to the top, it's worth it. Take pics, selfies, tricky pics, etc. Sit, stand, buy champagne, wine, or beer and relax in it's shadows. Whatever you do, take a ton of pics and then put your camera away to enjoy the moment. It's so amazing, you'll want to take a pic of everything, but just be for a few moments. 1. Visit during twilight or dusk 2. Wait for twinkle lights every hour 3. Hustlers are harmless, they are only trying to make a dollar and won't pester you too much 4. Witness the lovely extraordinary diversity (language, race, ethnicity, age, etc.) in one location 5. Take the gravel alleyway just beyond the tower to see the very expensive apartments...I can't imagine the rent/mortgage! read more

We were just in Paris last week and went again. This time we took the elevator since we had our daughter with us. The line took about 1 hour to buy tickets, go through security and get on the elevator. They still do the sparkling lights for the first 5 minutes of each hour after sunset. We watched this one night at the base and another night from Montmarte. The scammers are still out in full force and the cops only put on a show about actually caring. Do not sign any petitions, as it is a scam to get your money. I saw one of them try to grab all the money out of a guys wallet when he fell for it. Do not buy from the wandering souvenir vendors as they will try the same. They're all thieves. read more

I was here last summer with some family. The drive from Amsterdam to Paris was about 5-6 hours, was it worth it? It sure was! Paris is very very beautiful. Hop on one of the tour buses...great ride and if you sit on top you get to see everything, not to mention the wonderful air. It was packed..and the line was wayy too long, I had no problem waiting but time was ticking to head back to Amsterdam. Next time, I will definitely take the walk up there. Heading back, it was around 7pm or so, the view of the tower was spectacular. My suggestion...take a trip to Paris =] read more

We saw the tower but the bus system was not that great. We saw most of the stuff mentioned, but we couldn't go to all the places because we witnessed the yellow jacket protest. So many visitors & we took great pics & had a good time. read more

Came here for my 29th birthday. We lucked out when we arrived. It was late and there was literally no line at all. My husband and I paid for our tickets and went inside. Going up in the elevator was pretty cool. I like that you travel on an angle. It's not something I consciously thought about prior to getting in. Everything else was completely underwhelming. I don't know what I expected really, but I just wasn't wowed. We didn't eat or anything there. Maybe we can go inside again...maybe. I went a second time a year later with my mother, but we didn't go inside. It was just nice to admire from the ground. That time the lines were their usual long and I couldn't fathom waiting around for over an hour to enter. If you think you will never visit Paris again and you have the time to spare, go on a sunny day and enjoy the view from above. read more

For first timers, I mean, it's a MUST! The Eiffel Tower is magnificent. It stands tall and well lit at night, drawing awes from tourists and even locals. So take a moment and enjoy the view and continue to experience all things Paris has to offer with the same amazement. read more

Such a great panoramic view of Paris and reasonably priced. Only took a couple minutes in the que and we ascended the stairs to the first platform which cost 5Euro. It was a great view, but we decided to go up to the top which cost another 6Euro. It's worth the money and we got some great photos of Paris. We also went back at night to see it lit up, which looked great. I could imagine the views of Paris by night up the tower are stunning! read more

I mean, it's the Eiffel Tower. If you're in Paris for the first time, you have to see it. Be aware there is now security you need to pass through to go underneath the tower but it is still free to go underneath. You only need to buy tickets if you want to climb or take the elevator up. You always think these kind of monuments are smaller in person, but not the Tower. This thing is impressive from near and far. read more

Eiffel Tower is something you must do while you're in Paris. It's supposed to be one of the most romantic places in the world!!! It's been checked off my Bucket List. Yes, it's amazing to see such a beautiful tower but it's definitely overrated and crowded. I'm afraid of heights and I wasn't about to go in that elevator and get chlostaphobic with bunch of people, so I made my poor boyfriend (at that time) go up by himself. Looking back I kinda regret not going up. I heard the view is gorgeous. I know I'll never get that opportunity to go back but at least I got some pics of me with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Haha!!! The moral of the story... Even if you're afraid, just do it!!! read more

The Eiffel Tower stands tall above Paris. You can see it from so many different areas in Paris. Each time offering different shadows, views, and backdrops. I recommend checking it out from the Bir-Hakeim bridge. Or Champs de Marche. read more

We had a cold and hazy day to tour the 3rd floor (over 200 meters up). It was nice, crowded, but not too crowded. Took the stairs on the way down. Tiring, but worth it. Only negative were all of the aggressive salespeople outside of the main entrance. read more

I love to visit qu'à Tour Eiffel at least once. I love the sommet and the boutiques on the second floor.

Seeing the Eiffel Tower itself 5 stars. Going up to the top, however, not so much fun and probably not something I would do again. We got there at 9:10am, 20 minutes before it opened. Still, it took two hours to get to the summit via elevator. The summit costs 17 euro for adults and 14.50 euro for those under 25. If it were up to me, I would actually choose another place to get a 360 view of Paris so that your view can include the Eiffel Tower. I also rather have walked the 700 steps up to the 2nd floor rather than taken the lift to the summit, but we were pressed for time. The view on the 2nd level was just as good as the summit in my opinion. Plus, there was practically no line for walking up. read more

You'd have to be a total dimwit not to come here or know about this iconic place. Enough said, non?

What a magical place to go to see the city at night! Worth the walk to and from. As you walk up and see it lit, gorgeous. Then the lights start to flash and it's just magical. If you have the time & money it's well worth it to go up and see the entire city lit up! :) read more

Stunning!!!!! I have grown up with this iconic feature portrayed on TV, decorations, ads.....lets face it you have seen this symbol of Paris everywhere but nothing compares to standing at the base in person. great stuff. love the iron work. Whoever built it must have had some sure talent. NEver been.

Easily the most hideous structure in Paris, if not all of France. Four stars because it was under this monstrosity that I shared a cinematic moment with a boyish, charmingly disdainful poet-- a true-to-life Holden Caulfield en français called [impossibly French name redacted] whose green angel eyes shone with a devilish glint that tipped me off to what I knew would amount to epic sympatico. Said moment-- actually launched by what was for [redacted again] my surprising acknowledgement that the 324 meter steel behemoth is little more than a terribly ugly phallic symbol-- itself launched a million misadventures, several of which were fueled by cheap beer, intermediate level Bourgogne, Russian tea, Slovenian vodka, found bread, sleeplessness, and a shared devotion to good taste, perversion, and petit mayhem. May you all sit at the foot of this beast-- preferably just as those Vegas style lights (like so many showgirls-- dazzling from afar, and garishly sad within range) begin to twinkle-- and experience your own Parisian kismet. read more

Dear Management: I would like to comment how beautiful it is to see the tower at night and during the day. However, I would like to make a proposal. I propose that we create different entrances that segregates the out of shape from the healthy and fit. This proposal was developed from me having to endure being behind a relatively obese family attempting to climb up the many stairs to make it up the tower. I and the rest of the people behind me had the wonderful opportunity to take the 520 - 5min rest breaks that the family needed. While it would have been nice to go around them, but it was very unfortunate that their bodies were the same width as the stairways. While you might ponder to think how to label such entrances, let me help you be politically correct. Out of shape line "Super super super leisurely stroll up the tower entrance aka breaks allowed in this line" and for the in shape "No stopping allowed in this line till very top of platform." Regards, T read more

Ooo La La! Here's a money saving tip: Visit the Eiffel tour close to sunset, that way you get day views from the top and night views as all the city lights turn on. That way you don't have to visit twice and you can save up for the 10 euro glass of champagne at the top. I could photograph this landmark during the day, at night and any time in between, there is just something magically beautiful about it. I'm a little jealous that Gustave Eiffel was allowed to build this crazy thing in the middle of Paris and put a personal apartment at the top where his daughter Claire lived and entertained guests. :-( You can't visit Paris without a visit to the Eiffel Tower, 'nough said. read more

As pretty as I imagined! Lots of angles to take the photo of the Eiffel Tower far and close - I think a great view is standing at the Trocadero too. Lots of people selling keychains and selfie sticks which got annoying but they don't push for it which is nice. Watch out for pickpocketers - I didn't personally see one but they have warning signs everywhere. Also, it lights up when the sun sets if you're interested in watching it light up at night :) read more

Not much else I can say, but buy your tickets online before you go! The line was very long when we were there, but we bought tickets ahead of time and were able to skip the line and get on the ground floor elevator. France... if you're reading this review, ban the souvenir guys that pester you while you're under the tower. It almost ruined our experience as you could not stand and look for more than 20 or 30 seconds (we actually timed it) without someone coming up and wanting to sell you something. The same guy would ask you several times and they all sold the same stuff. Forget taking videos under the tower as well as these guys have no shame and will walk up in your shot and do their bit. Oh... watch out for the handicap scam artist walking around with clip boards (they are at other tourist attractions as well). I'm not sure they're legit (maybe they are) but they act as though they are deaf and want you to sign your name on a piece of paper and make a donation. I caught one of the girls that asked us on her cell phone... read more

I was a lucky tourist who utilized Airbnb.com to book a room on a boat in the Seine river where you can see the tower from your bed. The tower is truly magnificent and I appreciated each time that I saw it during the day/night, with/without lights, in the fog and in the clear day. I didn't get a chance to take an elevator to the very top but I did get to eat at La Jules Verne (terrible service by the way) which had a private elevator to the restaurant that sits just above the second tier platform where people can go. There are a million areas to take a picture with the tower so just go wild. This site can solely make your Paris experience worthwhile. Watch out for all the pickpockets. read more

The epitome of Paris! I didn't go to Bir Hakim or actually underneath the eiffel tower because, well, I've been there before and all we wanted was just a taster of Paris has to offer and also avoid crowds, so we opted to see the tour Eiffel from trocadero and we were not disappointed, except for the fact that the top of the tower was obscured by a bit of mist. But regardless, it was our first stop in Paris and it's just the ultimate sight to behold! read more

A must see if you visit Paris. Get on the line, wait however long it takes and soak in the amazing experience you're about to have. Make sure you bring the camera for all the wonderful sites you'll take in getting to the top. Many lines at the ground level. To climb to the top, it's 10 euros. If you can, get on the stair line, it is shorter and goes much quicker. There is an elevator line but if you can make it to the middle of the Tower there is an elevator to take you to the top. Stop for a cocktail or quiche on the main level and indulge in champagne when you reach the top. Embrace all of France from the top - amazing views, especially at dusk. When you make it to the bottom, make sure you wait to see it all lit up on the hour. Absolutely breathtaking! The whole experience is one you'll never forget. read more

While a must visit for anyone visiting Paris, I went up the tower and I don't think it's really necessary. It is 11 Euro if you are under 25. For a view of the city, Montparnasse is a viable option without the lines and crowds of tourists and long elevator waits. I personally got the most out of viewing the tower from up close. It does not look too impressive until you get really up close and see the intricate lattice work that makes the tower. As for pictures and a view, go across the river and to Palais de Chaillot. Also, don't forget that Poilane has a shop in the area, so you don't have to go to the one in Saint Germaine. read more

You are looking down on the whole city & it was marvelous... The views in the night was even more exquisite than anyone can imagine... It was priceless. The first time I came here was in the wintertime. Was snowing, It was below zero & I was freezing & my grandchildren were running around like nothing. Children are very resilient, the cold weather doesn't bother them... The tower was dressed in Christmas lights, it was a beautiful sight. My next visit was in the summer where the atmosphere was totally different, free of all the layered bulky clothes and heavy coats, feel light as a feather, wearing just flip flops & sun dress...Took a cruise down the Seine, It was beautiful. Can't wait to go back ...this summer again...Love Paris, Never get tired going to the same places...everything here is spectacular, the view, the arts, the buildings, architecture, the people, the language, the food...I can go on & on.... read more
