#1 attraction in Paris. Definitely a must see. Whether you go up or get some amazing photo outside. Always a good Pic with an amazing background.
How can you come to Paris and not see the Eiffel Tower... I mean so cool. I really don't understand why you're looking at reviews for this place honestly, it's just somewhere you just have to go see while you're here. To put it most generally it's a big monument that looks like a caged tower and it sparkles at night!
Overview: a classic, must-see landmark in Paris ---- Very beautiful landmark and prettier if you see it light up at night. The tower only sparkles when it's dark enough outside to see it. When it's the spring/summer the sun sets very late at night so when I was there, the Eiffel Tower first sparkled at 10pm! We didn't know that, so we arrived around 8pm and waited 2 hours. It then started to rain and we shared one umbrella between 4 people. There are lots of people walking around trying to sell you stuff can be very annoying especially if you came there early and they keep asking you. They walk around with small trinkets, some with drinks like wine, blankets, and even umbrellas when it started to rain. There are lots of people on the grassy field in front of the tower having picnics and waiting for the tower to light up as well. The walk from the metro wasn't too long, but also wasn't that short, but it's Paris so be prepared to walk for everything! It beautiful and was worth the walking, waiting, and being rained on. ---- Overall: beautifully lit up at the beginning of the hour after the sun goes down, for us it was at 10pm! Be prepared to walk and wait, enjoy the views and atmosphere with others waiting to see the pretty lights
Landmark in Paris, France... I've visited this famous piece of architecture a few times before I knew about Yelp. Back in 2000, I was here with my former co-worker. She didn't want to visit because there was a bomb threat. I told her that it's just a threat. How many miles and hours did we fly to just stay in the hotel room? She ended up walking outside with me... LOL! Our friend dropped us off this time to just get photos. He and his wife drove around the block and picked us up in-between stops. Parking is quite the challenge here! Be on your best behavior... some guards with guns marched past us!
THE GOOD ---------------- + SPECTACULAR and breath-taking 360 degree view of the entireeeeeee city of Paris! No part of Paris is unseen from here. + Different options for visiting the tower - (1) visit the base for free (2) pay to take the lift/walk up to the 2nd floor (3) pay to take the lift allllllll the way to the top - BUT, EVERYONE needs to go through the security checkpoint. No exceptions. + Worth every penny to visit the top of the tower to view the city! Don't just take photos outside or in front of the tower. Go for the full experience! THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - If you have accessibility needs or have a stroller, unfortunately, you will need to go up some steps before you reach the elevators to take you further up the tower. Not a lot steps, but definitely a few staircases. - If you buy tickets the day of your visit, waits can reach 1-2 hours, so try to buy them beforehand if you can! MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = Nada. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------- = As expected, it gets busy on the different levels, especially the higher ones, but it's not THAT bad. It's typical tourist attraction crowds.
I had a 3 pm reserved ticket To The Top and arrived 30 minutes early. I'm glad I did because they were running behind schedule. Once On Top I was almost 1,000 feet above ground and the views were dramatic. One level is fully enclosed behind large windows and the level above is open air with large metal screens for protection. That day the wind was calm so it was very pleasant to be on that level. On the open air level you can buy a glass of champagne and macarons to celebrate if you wish. Above you the tower rises for about another 100 feet for radio antennas, etc. It costs extra to go To The Top and it is worth it. If you do, go there first and then work your way down to the 2nd and then 1st levels. You can only access The Top by elevator. The 2nd level (400 feet) and 1st level (200 feet) are accessible by elevator and stairway. Remember it's much easier going downhill than uphill. By the way, the stairs are open air but enclosed with metal screens making it impossible for you to fall off. If you are on the 1st level and want to exit it is faster to do so by stairs rather than waiting on the elevator. There are upscale restaurants on the 1st and 2nd levels and there are chairs that you can sit on and enjoy the view. Actually, the famous French landmarks are better seen from the 2nd level than The Top. There are 2 Metro stations within less than 10 minute walking distance to the Tower so getting here is easy. It amazes me that this HUGE landmark was originally designed to be a temporary structure only, They were suppose to take it down but decided it was too popular.
I can't believe I'm finally standing in front of the Eiffel Tower! It's just as beautiful as I imagined it! And apparently at night they have it all lit up!
I could not let my first trip to Paris go by without visiting the Eiffel Tower. I mean, it's a structure that is engrained in history and pop culture, and synonymous with the city of Paris. That being said, I decided to research the different types of visits that the tower offered and plan my visit. The tower offers several ways to climb it - tickets are available to either the first/second floor as well at the summit. If you choose the former, you can then choose to climb it via stairs or lift; if you choose to go to the summit then a lift is your only option. Tickets sell out rather quickly online, but you can also try to purchase them in person. Nevertheless, I don't like leaving things up to chance so I purchased what was available to me online - tickets to the first/second floor via stairs. It's about 600 or so stairs to make it to the second floor of the tower. Along the way, there's a stop on the first floor where you can take pictures; there's also some seating areas as well as a cafe. The second floor repeats this, though there is also a gift shop here. They also have fun facts about the tower scattered throughout as well as plenty of view points. Personally, I thought the views from the first/second floor were high enough - I was snapping away. As far as the tower itself, it's definitely a sight to see in person - massive and intricately structured, I found myself just staring at it multiple times. My only regret (if you can call it) is not seeing at night up close, this is definitely something I would want to do my next time in Paris. Overall though, the Eiffel Tower is definitely worth checking out at least one during your Paris adventures.
La Tour Eiffel or the Eiffel Tower is one of the most landmarks in the world, and it is truly an iconic symbol of the French city line. When you're close to the tower, the photos aren't as beautiful as when you take a photo with the tower in the background. A few spots that are great to take photos with the Eiffel tower is from Trocadero or the bridge at Pont D'Iena for a straight short or at the bridge at Pont De l'Alma for a diagonal shot. We got to enjoy the view of the Eiffel Tower on multiple occasions as we explored the city. We witness its' charm from the day light hours and at night. We discovered that the tower sparkles at night on the hour for 5 minutes. One night we noticed it sparkled from 9:00-9:05pm and then our theory was confirmed when we saw it sparkle again from 11:00-11:05pm. What a treat! I recommend making time to visit both during the morning and at night. The Eiffel Tower is stunning and I feel like the day and the night has different charms to it.
Wow The Eiffel Tower is amazing but to see it in person is just incredible. It is even more amazing in person and fascinating as well. The tower was completed in 1889. There were many who were opposed of it being built but now the tower is adored. We purchased ticket hubby and I to the Summer which is the very top and we were just amazed at the beauty of the tower and of Spain ! Now it does get very crowded and you do get a bit crammed but otherwise anyone visiting Paris must come see the Eiffel Tower
When in Paris, you must visit the Eiffel Tower, both during the daytime and at night! The structure is massive close-up! At night if you take a boat ride along the Seine River, you'll get to see the tower pretty close-up and brightly lit. It's quite mesmerizing.
Is it touristy? Yes. Is it crowded? Yes. Is it worth it? YES!!!! My 4th time being in Paris and still love seeing this beautiful metal art piece. During the day... it's magnificent. During the night... ohhhh it's spectacular! I didn't go up this time, went in 2015... the view is beautiful but you do get better city view from Galleries de Lafayette rooftop. You can see the Eiffel Tower from plenty of hotels... so be sure to time it right... and watch the sparkle at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm... it only sparkles for 5 minutes... so be ready!
As sad as it is, whenever I think about the Eiffel tower I can't help but think about Franz Reichelt. He was a French tailor and inventor and in 1912 he jumped off the first platform of the Eiffel to test a homemade, wearable parachute. You can imagine how that went. However, I have the utmost respect for Franz. You can't knock the hustle. Bro was really about that life and had an unparalleled self belief, rivaled only by Vegeta. A moment of silence for big Franz please.............................. My gf and I came to the Eiffel Tower, not to jump off, but with a baguette and a bottle of red wine like the good little tourists we are. I was draped in a red beret and a 80% cashmere scarf that I had picked up from a tourist stand nearby for 8 euro. It was at this moment I realized that if I ever needed to go into the witness protection program I could blend in out here pretty easily... We drank our wine and ripped into the baguette, and had a nice little moment. It's nice to just press pause every now and then and appreciate moments. My girlfriend ended up keeping this cork, attached a magnet to it, and hung it on the fridge. Beast... gonna start keeping corks like this from all major life events and moments. I sat there, half a bottle of red wine deep, thinking "damn bro really jumped off that and thought he would be good... talk about betting on yourself. He has all my respect." RIP FRANZ! Erected in 1889, Tour Eiffel was designed by architect Stephen Sauvestre to be the entranceway to the Paris World's Fair expo. I've seen him several times over the years, and still remain a little bit (OK, a lot) in awe of him. I love the intricate iron lattice-work design. And he's just huge! If you're within a few streets of him, you won't be able to see it - but if you happen to be in Northern Paris, say at La Butte, you'll see him literally towering over everything surrounding. There are 4 supporting base entry points (named Nord, Sud, Est, and Ouest - after the directions they face) - two have lifts running up the tower, and two are for those fit /brave/daft enough to do the stairs. Views from the top are unrivaled - but the queues to go up can be huge so book your tickets online. At night, he's lit up - with a twinkling light show every hour for 5 mins - and just looks so pretty On our recent visit, our apartment was less than 10 mins walk away - I'm kinda missing not seeing him every day read more
It's obvious that going up into the Eiffel Tower is one of those bucket-list type activities, and it truly does not disappoint. My wife said that it was much more substantial up there that she had anticipated, so we both felt very safe and secure walking around. We weren't able to buy tickets to the Summit (the very top of the tower) before we left for our trip, because they had already sold-out, but you can typically buy Summit tickets at the Box Office on the day you want to go up. The tickets are for immediate entry only, so you can't buy them at the box office in the morning and expect to go up later that day. Luckily we were able to get Summit tickets at the Box Office and made it up just as the sun was setting. Truly a priceless moment :) Note: We visited in September 2016 read more

Short and sweet. You can't be a first timer in Paris and not see La Tour Eiffel. Took the very long elevator up to the very top floor. The only downside is we went during the summer and the elevator can get very stuffy. BUT once you're on the very top, the warm (or cool) breeze is rather calming. They've got a timeline of the history of the tower and there's a magnificent 360 view of the entire city. They also turn on the lights and it's magnificent. I know it's not much to say but it truly is breathtaking when you're there. Another downside: the farther up you go the pricier it gets. We thought: we're only in Paris so many times, why not go all the way. read more
We made it to the top of the Eiffel Tower!!! So grand, magnificent, and breathtakingly gorgeous day and night!!! (At exactly 11:30pm every night, the tower "light show" begins and lasts until midnight!!) It really is a crazy light show lol. The Eiffel Tower is beautiful close-up, far away, in all angles!!! BF and I paid a little extra to get to the very top (324m high!): Up to 2nd floor: 9 euros Up to Summit: 15 euros We highly recommend paying a little more to get to the top. Great view of the city (although it was FREEZING and very windy when we went)! For those scared of heights, you can stay on the 2nd floor, or go up a few more floors (elevator) before you reach the summit. We got to the top, took pictures, and took the elevator down to get to the other floors. The tower has 2 souvenir shops and 2 restaurants! Long lines to get back down lol. FYI: You cannot buy summit tix online during the winter season, bc the Summit is sometimes closed due to weather conditions. You can only buy tix to the 2nd floor. I wanted us to go all the way to the top, knowing that we might get unlucky. So we took our chances and waited in line that day early in the morning (our concierge recommended to line up 1 hour before ticket office opens, otherwise we'll be in line forever) and I'm so glad we did!!! The lines moved pretty quickly as soon as they opened. And yes! We made it to the top within 15 min! ***Please keep in mind that these lines can get really long so if you can't reserve tix online, your best bet is to wait in line! Ticket office is open from 9am-11pm (last lift to 2nd floor ONLY is at 10:30pm)*** Also BEWARE OF GYPSIES (young, old) walking around and asking for some donation and your signature for their petition . DO NOT FALL FOR IT. They'll tell you it's for a good cause and our friends have almost been pick-pocketed by the gypsies, sometimes working in pairs. One will have you sign while the other tries to reach into your front/back pockets. We were approached TWICE by two gypsies asking for our signatures. One girl in particular had her target on my bf and as soon as I started pulling him away from her, she started pushing me lol. We just said no and immediately walked away. Please do not waste your time and money with them. Make sure you don't have anything in your front pockets (pants/jackets). Ladies, have your bags/purses in front of you. The architecture of the Eiffel Tower is so marvelous!!! I couldn't keep my eyes off of it throughout our stay in Paris!!! It is truly a breathtaking view, rich in history! We cannot wait to revisit!!! read more

Amazingly Stunning! (need I say more?) Beautiful in daylight and night time especially with the flickering lights! You may bring some vino, bread, cheese and sit by the park and enjoy the Eiffel Tower view! :-) read more

It's one thing to see it in books or magazines, but it's another to see it in person with your own eyes. It's really breath taking! And when you are on top the view is absolutely incredible and simply beautiful. Unfortunately I came when it was raining, but it was a very clear day and I was able to get some good pictures. If you go in the winter beware! It's cold and windy. They close the third level because that's the coldest/ windiest! Second level you can still see a great view and literally can see all of Paris! Make sure you buy your tickets online, I went to the second level and it was $9. Going up there are no problems, you have options. You can ride an elevator (there's two) or you can take the stairs. I took the elevator up and the stairs down. There is a LOT OF STAIRS. I repeat a lot of stairs. My legs were shaky when I got to the bottom and a little sore the next day and that was just going down... I repeat, just going down! My favorite aight in all of Paris was the Eiffel Tower at night! It glowed and you could see it stand out more all over... Then came the sparkles! It just made me feel all warm and gooey inside! read more

You must experience the Eiffel when in Paris! TIP: there's a tiny post office at the South pillar. Bring your own postcards already addressed (the machines are often sold out) and have change or a credit card with a chip to get your postcards sent out from this iconic monument. Line for the stairs was not bad at all. Splurge for the for purchase champagne at the summit! read more
You only LIVE ONCE!! When I first saw it I was amazed! it's outstanding! It's beautiful and breath taken! This is something I always always go see and go visit in person rather than seeing it on romantic movies all the time. Haha! You can not visit Paris without seeing this tour! I differently recommend you to go up the tower because the view is sooo beautiful!! The line is very long to go up the tower but that's no problem! once your up it's worth it! going up the stairs is a workout! my legs were shaking at one point when I reached the very top glass floor! Once you look down eveyone looks like ants !! yup it's true! Now the night view is spectacular! once it gets dark the lights turn on! You will hear screams out of excitement! I sat down for a quick rest in the park below the tower! everything was just a dream come true ! read more
What more can really be said about the Eiffel Tower that hasn't been said already. An icon of not only France, but of all of Europe. A sight that is admirable in photos but breathtaking in person. We climbed the tower and saw some absolutely amazing views of Paris. From up high the city almost looks like Ancient Rome. The climb can be quite a work out, but regardless of how high up you go, it's worth every step to experience this piece of history. It's a tourist trap as expected, but one that is a must see. Unfortunately I didn't get to eat at the restaurant at the top of the tower, but it's certainly in my to do list next time I'm Paris. I can only imagine the views from up there... The Eiffel Tower, a beautiful piece of history. read more
The Eiffel is everything you see in photos, stories and your imagination. It is breathtaking during the day and in the evening. The best time to tour the Eiffel to the Sommet is in the evening, since summer days are long you will get to see the sunset over the city of blinding lights and watch the famous lights dazzle the city below. Feel like you need French wine to go along with this experience, no worries, they have a wine bar at the top ( about 12 euro per glass). Other than that, just make sure you bring a camera with an awesome zoom lens and to buy your tickets online! :) read more

Love is in the air!!!!! I fell in love with this beautiful landmark and I had a remarkable experience going on the day tour. I never thought I would ever go to Paris but here I was standing in front of the Eiffel Tower posing for my pictures to be taken. I was so scared out of my mind going to each levels on the Eiffel Tower because I felt like I was going to fall off. I wish I had the luxury to spend all day here at the Eiffel Tower but sadly I had many other places to visit. I can't wait to go again! read more
I couldn't possibly come to Paris and not visit the Eiffel Tower, can I? The Eiffel Tower really doesn't need any introduction. It is, without doubt, one of the world's most recognisable structures. Yet, I am surprised to learn that when Gustave-Alexandre Eiffel proposed to have it build for the 1889 Universal Exhibition, it created a lot of controversy and many Parisians (at that time) hated the structure. Today, the public opinions are very much in favour of the landmark and it stands as France's symbol in the world, and the showcase of Paris. Most people intent upon reaching the tower is get right to the top. I strongly encourage everyone to just stand beneath the tower, and look straight up. It's like a rocket of steel lacework shooting into the sky and it's a quite amazing view. Personally, I find Parc du Champ-de-Mars offers the most beautiful view of the landmark monument. It is also a great place to picnic or watch the Eiffel Tower's twinkling lights at nightfall. read more
A must-see for any visit to Paris. Pro Tip...most guide books tell you the secret is to arrive early. WRONG! Everyone buys the same guidebook and arrives early, so the crowd at opening is insane. Instead, plan on a very early lunch (approx. 11am), then finish by 12:30-1pm, and arrive at the Eiffel Tower while the crowd is busy eating lunch. When we arrived today, the wait to get tickets was about 15 minutes, not bad at all. Getting to the top counting getting tickets was about 45-50 minutes. As always, the Eiffel Tower is a great photo opp and tons of fun. Getting there will be a bit of a wait. read more

Visited in 2001 and 2009, it is a magnetic piece of architecture. More so than the actual aesthetic structure, the Eiffel Tower, perhaps the biggest European icon as seen in television, movies, art, and other medium is perhaps the biggest "celebrity" building. Even more than the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Pyramids of Giza, or Taj Mahal...it's the Tom Hanks or Tom Cruise of structures. The first time I was smart enough to anticipate a long line, which I timed so that I could enjoy the tower during the day, sunset, and at night, which I recommend. But you can forgo the whole elevator ride in the first place because my second visit, I showed up after 2am, and even more so than Vegas or New York, the Eiffel Tower is always full of people, and it's like the Epcot Center or It's a Small World because there are so many foreigners there. The thing that brings us all together is handing someone a camera for them to take a picture. Where one still feels they need to explain how to take a picture, like I'm trying to perform a flipping decapitation headlock on Playstation's Tekken 5. It's always the top button on the right for cameras, or the camera icon for phones. Yet people want to explain it to me, or worse, I see other people asking for instructions. Never do you hear, "Rub this disc counterclockwise while pushing down" or "Crank this lever three times and bark into the hole". Next time I hand my camera to someone I think I'll give them directions like that. "Jack this here rod up and down and I'll tap your head when I'm ready", and to zoom: just close your eyes and make a wish! What was my point? Oh yeah... you don't need to go UP to the top for the view. Because in a way that's the WORST place to be, because it's the only place in Paris you can't see the Tower. The only reason to be ON the Tower is to say you were ON it, but seriously UNDER it is just as good. BESIDE. AROUND. Almost any preposition, really. read more

One of my most FAVORITE tourism spot I've encountered. The size of the Eiffel Tower is simply breathtaking. It's so beautiful and big and bold and just gorgeous. We were so lucky to be able to get up there quickly with no line or wait because we went in January and it was offseason, which I recommend. It was snowing lightly, which created beautiful views. Some parts of mid section of the Tower was slippery so they closed the very top, which was a bummer. Gives me a reason to go back to Paris to reach the top of La Tour Eiffel. They have a gift shop on the street level and they also have stands there selling food. They take you up from an elevator, but they have at least two running at the same time so you'll get up there quickly. There's also an option of walking up the stairs if you'd like. If you're in Paris, DO NOT miss La Tour Eiffel. This structure is amazing in every view. Don't forget to lay under it and get a photo in that angle too. read more
There are not many attractions in the world where I'd willingly wait over an hour to see. But of the few, the Eiffel Tower is squarely on top of that short list. Towering over the nearby buildings and skyline, you're quickly introduced to its splendor and beauty, and once you reach the base, you can only marvel at its brilliance. As previously said, if you visit Paris during the busy season you're going to have to wait a LONG time. But the concession stands and entertainment going on provides a good distraction from the wait...minus the seemingly endless peddlers trying to sell you trinkets and souvenirs or bottles of water (or beer). I can still hear the "ONE EURO, ONE EURO!" shouts in my head. But honestly, if you have a good friend or two waiting with you the wait won't seem that bad. And as wondrous and awe-inspiring as the Eiffel Tower is from the ground, it's exponentially more so once you start ascending its heights. Visitors have the option of taking the lift or taking the stairs. Mind you that I want to believe I'd have no problem scaling all those stairs, but who am I kidding. There was never a doubt that I'd take the elevator. Haha. There ate multiple levels that you can stop at, but the top is where the real magic is. The view is just as gorgeous and breathtaking as you can imagine! It can get quite cold, however, up there, so you might want to make sure to wear warm clothes depending on the season. They also sell Champagne at the top, which definitely helps. But what really will remain with me for the rest of my life are the lights. The Eiffel Tower definitely justifies Paris' moniker as the City of Lights. There's really no way to describe it. No matter how many times I see it, I don't think it could ever grow old. I do want to note a point of caution though for those going when the line is ridiculously long: the top gets full. Obvious as that might sound, nothing is worse than waiting all those hours to get your tickets to find out that you can only get to he intermediate level. In those instances, you're only allowed to purchase entry to that level, and will then need to get a supplementary ticket once there to ascend any higher. So, my recommendation is to get your tickets online in advance. Just my two cents. read more

While at the Eiffel Tower, I was listening to Kanye and Jay-Z's song "Ni**as in Paris" Yes, the Eiffel Tower, "That shit cray!" I describe the Eiffel Tower as being dookie brown in paint color. Yes, it is dookie brown up close. Yes, there are thousands of tourists wanting to visit this structure so be prepared to get there early if you want to go up the tower. They charge different prices for the 3 levels with the top level being most expensive. Do you want to take the elevator up? Well that's another charge. What I like about the Eiffel Tower is seeing all the Africans selling illegal Eifflel Tower souvenirs. When the cops come around, they quickly pack up their stuff and run. If you want any of their crap, be sure to haggle. Also, since it's a tourist spot, watch out for pick pockets. Paris is notorious for it and they target the tourists not aware of their surroundings. Watch out for those that look like gypsies. When they jack you, they work in teams, so watch out. read more

Iconic, beautiful, and more beautiful than any movie can ever hope to capture. It's definitely a sight that needs to be seen at least once in your life. Standing at the base in awestruck at the engineering feat that was accomplished. It is an embodiment of the greatness humanity is able to create. read more
Eiffel tower wait times are insane. But it's a mandatory visit to the sommet for people that never gone. However I think the views were better at the first base camp because the area has no fence. At the sommet it's over crowded and the fencing crowds the photos. Overall I would say it's good to do the sommet once but I don't think I would do it again given the huge wait times for elevators at each level to go up and down. read more
