Well that was a lie. My kids were enrolled as soon as possible and were to be added to the bus routes. Well we are going on the third day of school, I've spoken to several people including the superintendent's office, Pete Chancellor at Durham along with Ebony and Peggy who were both supposed to notify Nancy in their office, of the need for bus service to pick my kids up for school. We begged MISD to allow us to be de-annexed from the district to go to a closer school district as our kids were on the buses too long and had no relationship with our neighbors because they didn't go to school with them, which is where most friendship form for kids. MISD denied the request and promised they would include us and service our area properly. Well we've went from being advised we would be better served all the way to absolutely no service at all. I've had to drive my kids to and from school for two days and going on the third day as of tomorrow morning. No one has called me back as they've all promised to do. I'm wondering when my kids will become a priority to the school district that can't afford to keep our subdivision in the district, and refused to let us out. I've called multiples times a day for 4 days straight only to get lied to and pushed off of the phone and completely forgotten. If MISD cannot afford to take care of the residents that pay these salaries that were so important to them, they need to let us go to Allen ISD where we'd at least be able to have a closer relationship with the community and our kids will have a better quality of life.

Our son who is new to FISD is struggling with math and focus. Within a short time, a tutor was assigned. JaMaya, our son's tutor is kind, gentle, and attuned. She notices when our son needs redirection or mental breaks. She is patient with teaching and comes to his level. She tries out different strategies in her teaching to ensure he gets the concepts. Tutor Doctor has also been diligent in communicating session updates and overall tutoring direction. We have had two sessions so far and are pleased with their service.

The facility is filthy--sticky floors, grimy toys, and a bathroom that looks like it's never been cleaned. No wonder there is a lice outbreak right now! Curriculum is disorganized, with zero structure or learning focus; it's basically chaos. The teachers do their own thing while claiming they write their lessons and follow a program to help. Even books are given in the curriculum and they are not used as parents are told. The "snacks" are cheap. Communication with parents is nonexistent--good luck getting a response without being berated by the front office staff with an attitude. Michelle, Tanny and Annabel are all involved in this. Avoid this place at all costs; it' not worth it.
