Ever since…read morethe new system has been switched over, we've only experienced terrible customer service, terrible quality of produce/products, and overall negative atmosphere. As there aren't many grocery stores in Carlsbad, the options are limited and we would normally choose Albertsons for convenience and quality products. Not the case anymore. Their points system has been overhauled and made more difficult to receive customer service for points specifically. The management bullies and belittles some of the checkout staff that are merely trying to work, not a good example to set in Carlsbad.

I went to purchase some supplies while on vacation this morning shortly after opening. I went to…read morecheck out the counter and asked the young lady to hold the stuff and open the restroom. She suggested that I check out first, she would open after. After completing the purchase, she suggested that I go across the street to the gas station to use the restrooms, because it didn't have locks and she couldn't leave the counter since her manager wasn't available. Bait and switch, I've seen this before, so I asked for a refund. Why, she asked, "You won't open the restroom". She then suggested I was being immature. The young lady proceeded to refund the purchase, her manager has to come to the counter to approve the refund. You can decide if you want to endure this service. I saved money going to the Walmart down the street.

My daughters and I came into this CVS Pharmacy on Canal St in Carlsbad, NM on April 27, 2024…read more It was midafternoon. The employees were friendly and mostly helpful. I came into see if they had this OTC allergy medication a friend had recommended. I noticed right away the low stock of other brands. Of course, I didn't see the new brand. As I was searching for it, I overheard one of the pharmacy representatives awkwardly assisting a customer. I got frustrated just listening. Trashy parking lot. Okay restrooms. I sure thought CVS would have that medicine, but I guess not.

I have probably had 80% positive or non-dramatic interactions compared to 20% negative or head-scratching moments with the pharmacy staff. This is one of the cheaper places for beer, wine & liquor. There is free, ample parking all around the lone-standing building - and it's a way nicer Walgreens than the other one in town. One of the older ladies who works the register was scanning my items not long ago and asked me if I knew which movie the song over the PA was from. The song I think was Robert & Johnny's "We Belong Together." I knew the song, but was befuddled as to the movie... She kept scanning & said it was this movie with this red car that was jealous. She talked to me like I knew her for years, but this was the first time I had ever seen her. "It had a girl's name." I smiled. "Christine?" I asked her. Her eyes lit up, "Yeah. That's it! Christine." It was a funny moment in time. If you've seen the movie, you might understand why we were laughing. Now when I see her she smiles bigger than all the times I'd seen her before. And I await the next movie/soundtrack quiz...
