Giant comes with reasonable prices and great prices on sale items imo. You'll be able to find most of what you are looking for here without too much searching. They have a bakery, seafood section, and plenty of freeze products alongside the standard dry goods and larger than normal produce section. I had to argue just to take it in with me, since clearly you can't steal anything in a wallet. Once inside, the store layout is standard. The produce section near the entrance looked fresh and well-stocked. Seafood was also plentiful and appeared very fresh. The meat section had a solid selection, especially marinated cuts ready for Korean BBQ -- definitely a plus. That said, the snack section was smaller than I expected, especially compared to the ones in Chinatown. I was surprised at the limited variety. The prepared food section (like pre-made kimchi and sides) was practically empty when I went around noon -- not sure if it was bad timing or just poor restocking. Check-out was fast, but the line system was confusing. The worst part? After paying, you have to exit the store, walk back around to the bag check, and then -- get this -- squat on the floor to repack your groceries. No tables or counters provided. I'm not sure why that one reviewer said they don't accept credit cards, that's not true I pay credit all the time. The one con, is that sometimes the lines are incredibly long, like down half the store (an entire aisle), but even then it's not that bad - most of the cashiers are very fast and efficient. Where else can you get a bag of pretzels or tortilla chips for 92 cents, or fake girl scout cookies (which are really good IMO) for $1-2 dollars per box depending on which type of cookie. The only produce I don't usually get there is mushrooms unless I'm cooking the same day, because those seem to go bad quickly. I also love how many dairy free milk options there are, lots of vegan/vegetarian meatless crumbles and meatballs, tofu and many other healthy options. I also enjoy their rotating aisle, which you can find all kinds of random seasonal things. For those that complain about having to pay for a plastic bag.. just saying there are such things as reusable tote bags and it's an incentive to not use plastic for the environment.. Also the whole idea is that at Aldis you bag your own stuff, and also return your own shopping cart. These reductions in staff is what allows these awesome low prices. I went to Target a couple weeks ago for some items, and I forgot how much "regular grocery stores" cost but man did it make me miss Aldis!
