It is in the site of the former Acme, and before that Superfresh, in Gladwyne. However, the store is totally expanded and renovated that you can not tell it it is the same location. It is cleanly lit and there are a ton of great options. Upon walking in to McCaffrey's, you are greeted by fresh flowers, has a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and dressings and sauces. As you explore the store some more, you will find the butcher section selling fresh meats, the bakery section with fresh baked goods and the hot food sections. They also fresh sushi and soup. A ton of great items! The bakery section had a couple of Phillies themed cupcakes, which I loved. I had to pick some up. Let's go Phillies!!!! There is also a little coffee shop with coffee, gourmet drinks and pastries. A nice little option. Across from the coffee shop, is the alcohol section, which seemed to have a number of options for adults. There is both checkout with a worker and self-checkout. I like that, so you have both options depending on how much you buy. McCaffrey's is definitely on the more expensive side compared to other options like Acme or Giant. However, most of the food here is gourmet and healthy, so that makes sense. Altogether, McCaffrey's Food Markets is a great new addition to the Gladwyne, Lower Merion and Main Line areas.

This is…read morenow the second time I've raised the same concern, and it's honestly becoming very frustrating. During my visit, I saw a meat department employee wearing his store smock go directly into the restroom. From a hygiene and food safety standpoint, that's very concerning. I brought it to the manager's attention, and while he said he would "say something," there didn't appear to be any follow-through. The employee came back out still wearing the same smock, and nothing seemed to change. What makes this worse is that this isn't the first time I've mentioned it. When customers take the time to raise legitimate concerns--especially involving food handling and cleanliness--it should be taken seriously and addressed immediately. On a personal level, situations like this are stressful, especially for those of us who are mindful of health concerns. You expect a certain standard when shopping for food, and right now, that confidence just isn't there. For a store that promotes itself as high-quality, I expect better hygiene practices, better management response, and better accountability.

The counter was pretty packed, but ordering via tablet was easy, and my sandwich came soon after. Unfortunately, they seem to have forgotten to pick up my friend's order so it took a bit longer. Checking in on your order every once in a while might be advantageous. They are stocked with every angle of Italian cuisine here-- wine, cheese, bread, meats, sides. I'm not eager to get that much into the Italian deep end, so I did not indulge, but supply is off the charts here! I had the Italian hoagie as a baseline and it was definitely above average. I'd definitely come here to get my fix, but I've had better in South Philly for sure. Things are kept pretty neat around here, and they have some outdoor covered seating available if you'd like to sit in to eat your food.

I thought it was going to be heavy because of how thick the focaccia was, but that was not the case at all. The focaccia was light and airy, with just enough seasoning present. The tomato sauce was thick with plenty of flavor. There seemed to be some other seasonings present too like garlic. Combining the thick tomato sauce with the fresh and flavorful focaccia bread made for a very appetizing dish. Will I go back? I did not attend but would head there.

You order at the counter and then a somewhat grumpy ahjumma brings you the food. :) - soy garlic fried chicken - 4/5, solid option - vegetable jeon - 3/5, little greasy for my liking - bulgogi bibimbap - 4/5, another solid option but I much prefer my bibimbap in a stone pot where the rice can get crispy but that was not what they had to offer so there was truth in advertising A bit expensive for lunch but very convenient on the Main Line plus they have a lot of cute things for purchase in the store. I'd go again to try other items from their menu and support this family owned business.

I enjoyed my dalgona coffee while watching the kdrama that was on. I've never been here so I wanted to try a few things, I got the Mul Naengmyeon and a Jeyuk Quesadilla. The soup was refreshing; I've had something similar before and enjoyed the chewy noodles and savory broth. The quesadilla had good flavor but was very greasy. I was able to eat about half using chopsticks to eat the filling out of the tortilla. Service was average. I really enjoy the overall vibe of the eatery and would like to come back with friends and maybe try the tteokbokki. Is on the pricier side for three items, I paid $49. Still very cute and would recommend though!
