I'm always skeptical about vacation destination restaurants, but I kept hearing how awesome this place was, so eventually my husband and I tried it. Go. I promise. You will not be disappointed. About a year later, we make bi-monthly trips to Seadrift from austin and this is ALWAYS one of my go-to places for dinner. As amazing food as austin has, I look forward to coming here. I have frequented this location several times as I am working in the area. The reason for the 4 stars is inconsistency. My fav is the chimichanga with fajita beef. Usually it's perfect and tender- sometimes burnt. I ordered nachos through the drive through with no beans- got home it had beans and were the worst nachos I have had. Also through the COVID19 drive through experience, I ordered three tacos. Those were awesome. Margaritas are tasty but shots of Don Julio are spendy. Staff are always nice and attentive. read more

Perfectly cooked meats and all the accompanying items for fajitas. Charro beans were good, but too much stuff other than beans in them. Pico good. Salsa good especially the green!! I stopped at this cute, little well maintained place on my way back from Port O'Connor. It is very clean on the inside and out. I was immediately greeted at the door and had chips and salsa on my table as soon as I sat down.I did feel as though I was rushed to order, so I just hurried and chose the # 29, Taquitos Mexicanos with charro beans. My food arrived very quickly and was piping hot. I was disappointed when I noticed the asado meat wasn't that as I was used to on my little taquitos but everything else looked the same. The pork used in the beans had a bit of an old flavor to It but the beans were edible. All in all my meal was okay but next time I'm driving through, I think I'll try someplace else. I'm from San Antonio and I know good Mexican food. My boys and I visited Seadrift for a few days looking for some new fishing spots. It's a great little town. Its mostly a shrimping boat community. There is not many places to eat there, but this was one of them. Pulling into the town after a long trip. We were looking forward to a good meal to end the night. This place looked amazing from the outside and looked authentic. We walked in and the atmosphere was awesome great ambiance. We figured the place would have excellent Mexican food. So we ordered our plates and anticipated the arrival of our food. It looked really good. We took a bite. The food was bland as all get out. No flavor. I added some salt to my food and still no flavor. I'm not a racist person, but the town is mostly white people. So it was the first time I experienced an white washed Mexican restaurant. We ended up going the a small market and bought our own groceries and cooked it in our cabin. read more

I took my wife and two friends there for dinner on Jan 5. We all agreed that it was the most BLAND Mexican food that we have ever experienced. It wasn't that it was bad. It just lacked taste. To make matters worse I ordered a margarita. It was basically a very frozen sweet lime drink. For the first time in my life, I did not finish a margarita. I could have drunk four of those and still pass a sobriety test. They get one star for two reasons. First, it is as low as I can go. Secondly, the salsa was great and the chips were fair. Had been here before and had okay service, so on our way back to home decided to give it one last try. Sat down and waited for our server, finally the bus boy took our drink order and alerted the waiter that we had been waiting for menus. he showed up gave isnoir menus and never was seen again. Finally found a waitress that was working in the area we sat and she took our order. We placed our order for a order of queso and guacamole, for the chips and had 2 of the specials, which was chicken fajitas with shrimp. 30 minutes later, our food was served with no queso, no guacamole, all corn tortillas which we order half corn half flour. When asked where the queso and guacamole was, she looked and asked "u didn't get it", we responded do u see it and her excuse was it wasn't her table; yet she took the order and brought the order. When asked if we could get the flour tortillas, her comment was I'll get u some - never saw her again. She asked if we wanted the queso and guacamole, we declined it since we were wanting it to eat with the chips. She commented that we didn't need to get an attitude with her, that it was not her fault! I said it was, because she opted to take car of the table regardless. Finally after eating our 3 shrimp and 6 pieces of chicken fajita chunks, cold rice beans; we ended up having to flag down another waitress to get our check, which of course still had the charges for the queso and guacamole she promptly fixed it and we paid and left. La Terraza is a quaint little Mexican food place located in Seadrift, TX. Seadrift is a little town on the San Antonio bay full of mostly rough locals known as "Bay Rats". Most people just drive through to get to Port O'Connor but for whatever reason, it holds a special place in my heart. The biggest surprise about Seadrift is the restaurant scene. It has 4 to 5 non assuming restaurants that put out fantastic food. La Terraza is no exception. The majority of their plates are under 8 dollars, loaded with extras, and stay true to traditional Tex Mex (think cheeses, gravies, etc.) without sacrificing quality of ingredients. Most will probably drive by this place but you should stop in, whether its for their breakfast tacos or their enormous dinner plates, they are bound to surprise you. read more
