Food was ok the guisada tasted like it was made with can chili. The enchiladas didnt have any flavor. The salsa wasn't good at all no heat.

My folks and I stopped in for dinner on Thursday 8/28/25 at 4:25pm, and this place was amazing! The food and our waitress couldn't have been better!! We've tried other local restaurants but this one is my new favorite when visiting my folks. They also serve breakfast all day and I will return to try that on my next visit to Port Lavaca. read more

This is an excellent breakfast place. My husband and I stopped by on a Saturday morning and were very pleased. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall Mexican diner, but the menu is extensive. He ordered a steak and egg plate and I ordered the migas burrito. His was definitely better than mine. While my burrito was quite large and full of egg, it was just egg and tortilla chips inside...no veggies or cheese or anything else to add flavor. They did bring me salsa, which helped. But his plate looked incredible and he was just tickled pink. The steak was delicious and was served with eggs, hash browns, retried beans, and a tortilla chip salsa side. I must say that he won the breakfast prize. We will definitely be back, but I will probably order what he ordered next time. Prices were a bit inflated, but I'm finding that seems to be the norm for coastal tourist destinations. read more

Me and one other person came here as soon as we pulled in we were skeptical. There was 0 cars in the parking lot even thought the place had 4,5 stars. The food was ok at best. I found this spot while I was in the area for the first time and read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Different meal selections, nice customer service, cheap food and great margaritas. I had the Texas plate which comes with 2 enchiladas, carne guisada, refried beans, rice and tortillas for $9.99. My friend had a barbacoa plate with eggs, beans, potatoes and tortillas for $7. This spot was recommended by our Air B&B host. So good - can't believe we slinky got here on our last day. I had nopalitos and egg tacos. The were stuffed. Tortillas seem to be homemade! Husband got Chile relent with Gordita. Also very good. Boys had pancakes and bacon and eggs. All delicious. Service was fast and accurate. The food was okay. We are from Houston Tx, we are out here working. I search reviews everywhere before I go in a new place I've never been before. Salsa was on point, but the chips where too chewy. We had then bring our fresh ones and they just where not good at all. We ordered the Mexican enchilada I believe. The fajita was good but food does not have flavor at all. The fresh hand made flour tortillas where good. The margarita had an aftertaste but I believe is the different type of tequila they use down here. My husband ate his whole food. He liked it. I just couldn't eat it all. No flavor at all, even with me putting the salsa on it. We are all different maybe you guys should just go in and try it read more

This is by far my favorite Mexican place in Port Lavaca & there are many choices. Everything is fresh & homemade. The margaritas are delicious & the whole place is SUPER clean. Pretty sure they make everything from scratch including the tortillas. read more
