Empanadas de chorizo
Vanessa P.

They have the usual items a mexican food truck has except for a few Oaxacan specialties. I tried the chorizo Empanadas and Huarachitos and wow they were so good! Their tortilla dough is fresh you can tell and they use that stringy gooey yummy Oaxacan cheese. The Huarachitos were new to me and looked very interesting...small oval corn tortilla with a layer of black beans, chorizo, lettuce, avocado slice, radish slice, crema and that stringy yummy cheese on top! Soooo good. Definitely be back again to try the rest of the menu.

Very friendly. The birria burrito was amazing! The portion of meat was generous and not too much rice, although the rice was super yummy.

She was very friendly, but not very communicative. We asked for a menu and were told to look at the wall where there were some photos and lists of dishes, but no prices. We were just trying to get some burritos to take on the highway, so we each ordered what we wanted. Then she went in the back, washed her hands, and made the burritos. The burritos were good and the salsa provided was decent. The inside of the place is dingy and uninviting and not even pleasant for just waiting for takeout food. Having just one person working made it slow even though we were the only customers.

Drinks are either bottles or cans. Soda, beer, water, juice, you choose. They have karaoke in the evenings on the weekends which usually draws a fun crowd. The kitchen is open for orders too. They have plenty of tables and chairs as the restaurant is huge. The employees are always pleasant and ready to prepare your food. They take phone orders if you're short for time. I suggest you call twenty/thirty minutes ahead of picking up your order. They also have a restaurant with same name and menu in Soledad.

We were on our way home from the 17-Mile Drive and wanted to get dinner before our long drive back. I found Padrino Restaurant on Yelp, and we decided to give it a try. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted and seated. I loved that they provide the table with a pitcher of water, but I do wish it was a little larger. We ordered the kids' food while we looked over the menu. This restaurant is a little more expensive than most Mexican restaurants. A kids' quesadilla was $8 with no sides included. We ordered a side of rice and beans for the kids to share since they were $4 each. My oldest got two fried quesadillas, and my youngest got one regular quesadilla. They don't automatically bring out chips and salsa, but they do offer them. I actually don't mind that because it can feel wasteful to give them to every table when not everyone will eat them. I understand the choice. I ordered the Stuffed Chilaquiles with beef. I loved the flavors. They were definitely different from what I am used to, but still very delicious. The asada was seasoned really well, although don't expect a huge portion of meat. I would give this 4/5 stars. My husband ordered the Enchiladas Rojas with a side of rice and beans (for an extra charge). He did not like the sauce at all because it was more like a dark mole sauce than the red sauce he is used to. I traded plates with him, and I actually liked it. It had a darker flavor than what I am used to, but it was still delicious. I would give this 3/5 stars. My mother-in-law ordered the Green Enchiladas. They were very different--they were more like flautas covered in green sauce. Still good, just not what we expected. I would give them 3/5 stars. I am happy we got to try it, and the service was great. I am just not sure if I would come back again. That may simply be because we are so used to the flavors and style of food we grew up with.

It wasn't busy inside, they have tables outside as well. The interior is cozy and trendy but still inviting. The service is great, I believe it's a family run business. Service started slow (seemed to take some time to get our order in) but once our order was taken, it was top notch from then on! We had the hardest time deciding what to get. The food is slightly different from your typical Mexican dishes (though they may be the same name), the ingredients are very old world inspired. The coffee is amazing!! (I'm not a coffee person typically) I can't wait to come back for dinner and explore the menu some more.

They were extremely apologetic and thoughtful, and they moved on to a table farther away from the noise as soon as it was available. They also brought us complimentary agua fresco and orange juice for the extra wait time. Our server was particularly gracious, and she helped make our meal even better. We got the Fried Egg Sandwich, Huevos Rancheros, Shrimp Quesadilla and Chilaquiles with extra chrizo. All were delicious, especially the potatoes with the Fried Egg Sandwich. The Shrimp Quesadilla was tasty, but it had more mushrooms than shrimp. We're definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more of their food, especially the French Toast...

Octopus adobado 2. Chicken enchilada mole 3. Jericayas - Mexican flan for dessert They were so generous with the portion size. You get two huge octopus tentacle - juicy and seasoned to perfection! The creamy sauce that comes with the octopus pairs really well. The chicken enchilada mole usually is made with shredded chicken but the waitress was nice to substitute the inside to grilled chicken instead. The dish was tasty and packed with flavor. I made sure to clean every drop of the mole sauce. We weren't a big fan of the Jericayas, which our waitress described it as a mix of cream brûlée and flan. It was good but I don't think I would get it again. It's topped with strawberry and blueberry fruits. There were so many more dishes that I wanted to try here. I'll definitely be back soon if we're ever around the area. I highly recommend anyone to try this place. The ambiance is relaxed and there are plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The staffs were all friendly and took the time to explain the menu.
