Wow. If you're looking for a spot that has amazing food, beautiful art and design aspects, friendly…read moreservice, and plates to share, Aguardente is the place for you. A friend and I came in and put our names on the waitlist, waited for about 45 minutes at a bar down the street, and then had some of the most fulfilling tapas ever! We got a Prosciutto & Salpicao board, the Queijo de Cabra, and Frijol Dip. I also got a nice portuguese red wine that paired well with some of the cheese we received. We sat in a very sweet and cozy nook and enjoyed every minute! I will be back when it's warm out and the front patio is open!

We absolutely love it here! As someone who is of Portuguese descent and a huge Mexican food lover,…read morethis place hits the perfect fusion of both worlds. You can really taste the family influence and authenticity behind every dish -- it feels like home, but with a fun twist. The Prego no Pão is one of my favorites -- perfectly seasoned steak on soft bread with that classic Portuguese comfort, but elevated in a way that keeps me coming back. We also can't get enough of the seafood dishes -- especially the paella and grilled octopus -- and the chouriço always brings that familiar Portuguese flavor I grew up with. The small plates are perfect for sharing, and trying different things each time has been so much fun. Plus, the touches of Mexican flavor throughout the menu just make my heart happy. The cocktails are always a hit -- fresh, flavorful, and so well-balanced. On top of all that, the décor is beautiful, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the touches of their family history all over make it so charming. Everything from the food to the drinks to the overall vibe is just excellent. Great addition to the city and one of our favorite spots I will add I have also gone with a baby, and while it's not stroller friendly they staff were very kind and patient with a baby learning to eat and making a little bit of a mess

I'll be honest, they didn't look like much at first, but one bite in and I was sold. Perfectly grilled, simple, and that pimento sauce was absolutely bomb. For the main event, we "split" the paella for one... which turned out to be a feast. We powered through and finished every last piece of rice because it was sooooo good. And dessert? Passionfruit mousse. I don't even like passion fruit, but this was hands-down the best mousse I've ever had in my life. The restaurant itself has a quirky, endearing vibe, kind of like walking into a summer party at your grandma's house, complete with fun, kitschy touches. It somehow transports you to old-school southern Spain but maybe that's just me. Jury's still out on the house wine, but with food this good, I'd come back in a heartbeat. Still gets a 5 from me.

Our favorite local go-to spot for Portuguese food. My husband and I will come here on date night,…read moreand more recently we came mid-week for the special. Bread, soup, entrees for two, PLUS a bottle of wine; all for $35.00! Yes you read that right. I am a bife a casa (Portuguese steak) aficionado, and if you are too, you won't be disappointed. Portions are generous; I always leave with tomorrow's lunch. Service is friendly and cordial. Highly recommend!

Don't judge a book by its cover and don't judge a restaurant by its exterior. We were a bit weary…read morewhen we first rolled into the parking lot but when we got inside, it was clear they must have just remodeled. The ambiance is beautiful and classy, yet still kid-friendly. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and got a seat no problem. Business was steady but a reservation wasn't needed. Our waitress was young and sweet, but I'm guessing new. We had questions about the menu like "what's the difference between the tenders and fingers" that she wasn't able to answer. She did disclose that the menu had just been revamped but gave us the answer of "they are the same thing". That doesn't really makes sense since they are separate menu items but she didn't take the time to follow up with someone who did know. Once we got our drinks I let her know that my soda must have needed changing out because it's tasted like seltzer with very little syrup. I asked for a water as a replacement, which I never got, even after a second request. When I got the bill, the soda charge was still on there. She did remove it after I asked her to. Also, the straw that she brought me looked like the ink from a pen had leaked on it (see pic). Lastly, all the other tables seemed to have a complimentary basket of bread, which we never received. None of these things are huge deals, but someone more experienced would have been a little more "on the ball". Most importantly, the food was delicious and their was a good spread of desserts offered. The macarons we got were only $2 per cookie and came in a variety of flavors. Had the service been a little better, I'd give this a 5 star experience but we really did have a nice lunch and would visit again, for sure.

It was an extremely disappointing experience. The meal was not prepared as requested: veal parmesan…read morewith pasta and "light on the sauce." It came out looking like tomato soup, and the pasta was literally floating in a bowl of sauce so thin that it looked like a tablespoon of tomato soup cut with ten ounces of water. When I tried to cut the veal on top, the pressure caused the watery sauce to overflow the side of the plate. The waitress never came back to the table. I didn't eat the meal, and when I asked another waitress for the check, I told her the meal was unacceptable. The bill came, and I was charged for a meal that was unfit to eat. My wife enjoyed the spinach pie. I paid the bill in full, including a tip. Essentially, I paid $50 for a spinach pie! It was a bad experience, and I cannot recommend this place.
