The snow storm made me lose a few days and I needed a gown altered asap! I brought it in on Saturday, and needed it for Wednesday. I have used LA Tailor for over 20 years for all my alterations. They do an excellent job with both casual and formal wear With reasonable prices. when I broke my wrist and needed to attend a formal event, the seamstress added a zipper in the sleeve of my velvet gown- totally unnoticeable and 100% effective way of getting the long sleeve past my cast. Customer service is terrible. When I first walked in, the lady was sat on the sofa and I had to wait five minutes until she acknowledged me as she was watching her YouTube videos. When it comes time to pick up my clothing, I come on the set date, 30 minutes before they close and they tell me I have to wait 30 minutes. I've been going here for years and have always had excellent, prompt alterations. I ordered curtains on line and decided to trim them beaded fringe and I was fortunate and surprised that said they would sew the trim on. They pinned the fringe where I wanted it sewn and asked for my approval. They came out beautiful, extremely neatly lined up and the icing on the cake was the reasonable charge for 5 panels of curtains. I highly recommend them. The lady working here barely said two words to me. She coughed several times while doing alteration fitting and didn't cover her mouth or have a mask on. She actually coughed ON me a few times. Gross! So no customer service and know basic manners or decency. Yuck! read more

They lied. They charge me $60 to hem four layers of my dress but they only hem one layer which is the outside layer. They didn't hem the inside three layers. When I put the dress on, you can see the inside layers are sticking out. They did a terrible and unprofessional job. Also, I didn't go to pick up my dress on the time they told me to. I went there almost two hours later to pick up the dress. I thought the dress should be ready as I gave them extra time to work on my dress. Of course the dress was not ready. They asked me to go back in 30 minutes. I went back. The dress wasn't hem right. It was still long. I waited for another 15 minutes. Because all those times wasted, I was late to the wedding ceremony. read more

They get 1 star because I can't give no stars. I had a pair of pants that needed hemming and they ruined them by pressing them and creasing them the wrong way. Pants are ruined and they will take no ownership of the error. Basically said not their problem. Brand new pants never worn - ruined. read more

This place needs to shut down. I read all the bad reviews before going here for the first time & thought hey I can deal with the attitude as long as they do their job. My experience with them has been a nightmare. Brought in a formal dress to get a zipper put in. A pretty simple task or so I thought. The front of the dress has embroidery and the back is a plain black. When dropping off, I pointed out how far I wanted the zipper to go down on the back. Went to pick up the dress only to discover the zipper was put in on the front of the dress! Seriously?! Was your seamstress asleep that day?!! They cut all intricate embroidery on the front and ruined a 300 dollar dress. Even the owner was puzzled why her staff put the zipper in the front, when the front/back was obvious. Tried to fix it and it is a hot mess. No apology, nothing. Any positive reviews you see on here are written by the staff/owner. Stay away!!! read more

I take all my clothes there for alterations or repairs and I've always been happy with their work. One of my DKNY suits was ripped right in the middle of the material, not the seam, so I thought I had to buy a new suit. But my wife, who also takes all her dresses and work pants there, suggested I bring it to LA Tailor and they were actually able to repair it. When I picked it up, I couldn't even find the spot where it was originally ripped. I did not give them 5 stars because there is always room for improvement, like their customer service. read more

I have never met such an unprofessional and greedy business. We have been customers for more than 15 years (from her other location too). My mom took her beaded dress for her son's wedding to get altered and one lady charged a certain amount and gave her a date for pickup. When she went back to pick the dress up, the owner had not even started and wasn't satisfied with the price the other lady quoted my mom. She even tried over charging for two bridesmaid dresses the day before so she can make up for the small amount accidentally quoted to my mom. The way the situation was handled was unprofessional and I felt that they were taking advantage of my mom and the whole situation that was there fault to begin with. My mom wasn't even done talking and they were removing the pins from the bridesmaids dresses we took in the day before. They had no empathy towards the situation and handled it very poorly. I'm super disappointed and do not recommend this business to anyone wanting to get anything altered there. Now, we are left scrambling to find a alteration place with the wedding right the around the corner. Customer service is horrible. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

This place has the worst customer service ever. The owner is not friendly at all. You can tell that they are in this business just to make their money and not care about their customers. I just left there 5 minutes ago and am still fuming. I came in last week to drop off a dress that needed to be taken in on the sides. Before I tried it on last week to get pinned , I asked the lady at the front desk how much it was going to cost. Mind you, I only paid $13 for this dress so was not planning on spending an unreasonable amount to get it altered. She told me about $15 to $20. So, I agreed and went in to change so that she can pin me. When I came back to pick up my dress the following week, they did not do a very good job on the job. My breasts were still hanging out from the sides. On top of that, the lady at the front desk, the same lady who told me that it was going to be $15 to $20, told me that the total was now $27. I was very upset. She said, I'm sorry and that was it. At first, when she gave me the dress she just expected me to just pay for it and leave. So, she was a little annoyed when I said I am going to try it on first before I pay. After trying it on, I even told her that the alterations was not done correctly and that my breasts are still hanging out. All she said apathetically was, I'm sorry. She did not even offer to have me try it on again and readjust the alterations. The service is not good, customer service is not good, and they really don't give I a care about their customers. Do not come here. There are other alterations place nearby. Don't waste your money and time. I have never written a Yelp review before, but I feel like this time it was necessary. The only reason why I even gave it one star is because of the location; it is conveniently located next to a Starbucks. I was able to go get my coffee afterwards. Smh... read more

I experienced some of the worst customer service of my life at this tailor shop. My little brother needed dress pants shortened for our grandmother's funeral. My mother dropped the pants off, and picked them up when they were "finished". The day before the funeral my brother tried them on and realized that they hadn't been altered. The pins were still stuck in the pants where the new hems were supposed to be. I drove my mother over to the store to have them fixed. When we walked in, the lady, whom I assume to be the owner, was sprawled out on the couch, talking on the phone in her native tongue. She barely acknowledged our entrance into her store and made us wait until she was done chatting. When we told her the problem, she was not at all apologetic. She told us to come back in two hours. When we came back she didn't recognize us, and repeatedly asked us for our slip. (She never gave us one). Eventually we got the pants back, and they were altered to the correct length. But I would NEVER go back to this tailor again. People make mistakes, but the owner of this shop did not know how to make amends. read more

This shop is horrible! They had my husbands jacket for three weeks. I paid for an alteration and a cleaning. The first time I went in to get the jacket it hadn't been cleaned yet. They said they would redo it and to come back in two days. I came back in three. It had been lost. Then the employee says the owner has it in her car! What, why? She says to try back tomorrow. I said call me when you find it. They never called. I call two days later. Still no sign of the jacket. I demand a refund and the cost of the $300 missing item. She calls the owner in her native tongue. She gets off the phone and says come tomorrow. I said no. I want my jacket or money to buy a new one. You've had it for three weeks. She calls the owner back. It's in her car and she brings it to the shop 20 minutes later. No apologies or refunds were given. Never use this place. I hope they go out of business soon and return to their homeland! read more

Worst customer service ever. Came in and no was at the counter. Rang the charm on the door, heard people talking no one acknowledge me. Heard phone ring, someone picked it up and started talking. Peak around the corner and saw me, still had me just waiting while taking what seemed to be a personal playful phone call. Started to come out but I left. Work is good, customer service on the other hand is less desirable. I've been supporting this local business for a number of years but you have to monitor what you are charged. The worker charges whatever she wants and if you are not paying attention, she will overcharge you. I understand inflation however, last week I was charged $10 for a pair of original hem jeans, yesterday she charged my daughter $30 for hem and $20 to take in the waist. When my daughter returned and shared the receipt, I asked the worker why did she charge so much. No explanation. I requested and received a refund. I will NOT support a business that intentionally overcharges customers. read more

I took my daughter's prom dress to add some netting and to be pressed. The sign in the establishment window clearly stated that DRY CLEANING services were available. After my daughter was fitted, the lady told us that they would add the tulle but that we needed to go somewhere else to have the dress pressed because they send the clothes out anyway. When we returned to get the dress, the staff person had difficulty finding the dress. Once the dress was located and my daughter went in the dressing room to try the dress on, the lady went to the back of the store and never came back up to see if we were satisfied with the fit of the dress. The employee never returned to the front of the shop until my daughter was standing at the register to pay. She only came then because two other customers entered the store. The actually service on the dress was average at best and we were over charged. BUT the main thing is that the customer service was horrible. read more
