I needed pants hemmed in a hurry . I didn't even have to ask for a rush. She was fast and efficient. Quality of workmanship was great. Good price. Will definitely go back for other alterations. read more

I've come here twice, once to get my wedding dress altered, and once for a formal gown. Liz is a pro in her field. She listens, she works in a timely fashion, and her work is impeccable! I bought a long dress for my courthouse wedding and reception after, deep down truly knowing I wanted a short dress. Liz transformed my wedding dress into an entirely different, one of a kind short, stylish dress, which made my day and my wedding pics priceless ! She also added a fabric to the back of a formal gown that did not quite zip, and had it ready in less than a week and a half, so I could wear to my brother's wedding, and it fit like a glove. I got so many compliments! I HIGHLY recommend Liz's Tailor! She is SUCH a pro and tailoring genius! included are some pics so yall can see for yourselves! I highly rec read more

I had two pairs of knit pants hemmed up at the Sugar Land store on Hwy 6. The pants were ready on the day that I was told to return. The pants are perfectly hemmed. I'm very pleased and will return this week to have corduroy pants shortened. Highly recommend. read more

After looking at reviews, I came here for a very last minute alteration for my wedding/elopement dress. It was very affordable and Liz was very easy to work with. She told me to return within a week and everything was done perfectly. She was cash only or I think possibly check too? But overall I would recommend her for any alterations! She was very nice as well! read more

Fast and quick. Unfortunately, I do not know how to sew so I'm glad I found Liz's Taylor nearby! Very easy and convenient, it's a bonus that the turn around was quick. It's nice to find a place that's pretty affordable for hems and quick fixes. Make sure to bring cash or check since they do not take a card. Definitely, recommend and will come back again for any needs with our clothes! read more

Liz's alterations and judgment on fit is always spot on. I go out of my way to use her but it's worth it.

Came here recently to have a maxi dress and two pairs of pants hemmed. The turn around time was super quick- all 3 items were done in 3 days. Pricing is as follows: ~$14 for pants ~$18 for dresses Liz did a wonderful job and I am very pleased with her work! My only small, minor complaint (hence the one star knocked off) is that I asked for the fabric scraps from the maxi dress and she said she threw it away accidentally. read more

This was my first visit to Liz based on positive feedback I'd seen on NextDoor. I've lived around the corner from her shop for 22 years but only now had a need for a true professional. Liz was able to expertly tailor my wedding gown for a fair and reasonable price. She provided a viable solution of how to fix the biggest problem (tight upper arm sleeves) when there was no seam allowance. There was additional work to take up the shoulders, fix the arm holes, let out hips slightly, and add a bustle. All on lined, very heavy crêpe fabric with no lace (nowhere to hide any mistakes!) Literally a few cm in each measurement. Skilled work like this is completed with the talent and expertise only someone very experienced can achieve. I truly know what it takes to do this type of tailoring - Liz was worth every penny. I'll add photos after the wedding read more

Went to try Liz's tailor for some basic alterations on a new sport coat I bought. At first everything looked great, but then I realized some damage to the lapel. I have no doubt that the tailor was responsible because it was a brand new coat. The damage can not be fixed and the coat I've never worn is ruined. When I confronted the employees they refused to retake responsibility or even give me a refund. In the end I paid a high fee for them to destroy my jacket. Do not go here. read more

Liz's Tailor - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Sugar Land, Texas

Liz' Tailor provided me with exceptional service. I took my wedding dress here to be altered and they did a great job. It only took them 1 week to complete and they were very inexpensive. If I ever need to have anything else altered, I will definitely be coming here. Overall, it was a great experience. read more

I've been coming to Liz's for years now. It's close to my house and has been very reliable for any alterations hemming and taking in my new jackets. For my birthday, I had a custom dress made to commemorate the occasion and Liz did a great job! read more

First time coming to this tailor and won't be my last! The place is clean and organized. There are two dressing rooms for you to change in and also a seating area for kids/friend/etc. Liz is great and definitely knows what to do to make your dress/pants/etc fit you. I came in to get a dress hemmed for a wedding, and she also noticed the dress was loose in the back which I hadn't noticed previously from trying it on. The dress was ready in a week and fits perfectly! Dress hem - $35 (really depends on how many layers in your dress) Taking in the waist by 2" - $15 The alterations cost almost twice as much as the dress I bought (Lulu's clearance section FTW), but it fits so well that it was definitely worth it! **Cash or check only! read more

The WORST. I will never go back there. I asked to have some patches sewn on some backpacks (laptop bags for employees) four out of five had to be redone. One of those, was stitched at a 45 degree angle! OBVIOUSLY not straight, and they let that go back to the customer- me. The others were also crooked and they made them right. Except they tried to argue with me to tell me one of these wasn't crooked. Shouldn't THEY be the professional and have the better eye? Why do I have to point out a simple problem and wait another three days after driving back to have them corrected? I found out, these were done by the lazy-ass teen in the shop. read more

I brought in an old backpack that needed a new zipper put in. I did already have the new zipper purchased from Etsy but they did an excellent job of replacing it. It looks brand new and very good quality stitching.. looks like it will last another few years! Very fast, affordable and super nice. read more

Liz was so helpful!!! I had an emergency job I needed done and she executed it quickly and flawlessly! Her work is great! Would definitely use her again! read more

I brought a pair of jeans to try out the place to be tailored and they came out perfect. They helped me with the hem length and the taper I wanted and showed me how it would look when it is done. I highly recommend bringing your denim here for them if anyone's having thoughts. No experience with other clothes but I'm sure they can get it done as well seeing as they do lots of dresses and important outfits. read more

I took my wedding outfit to Liz's a month ago for my wedding in 3 weeks. She sent me away saying it was too soon to alter. She said to come back in a month, it would only take her 1 week to do and should cost about $110, $130 max (it's not even a big dress, just a 2-layer skirt and a top). As she said to do, I went back yesterday, understanding I drove an hour to get there because someone recommended her. She was incredibly rude. Said she didn't know if she could get it done in a week because she's going on vacation. That I should've come in SOONER. I was completely shocked... since, you know.... it's not like I can just push my wedding back. In a rather rude tone told me she could do just the skirt (at this point I figured I would at least have part of the outfit done). During the fitting process she offered no advice, placed 2 pins and rolled her eyes more than once. Finally, I go to check out and she tells me to take the waist in one inch and pull the slit up 3 inches (on a 2 layer skirt) is going to be $100. When I asked her why it was that much when the top needed MUCH more work and she had told me TOGETHER that they would cost $110. She didn't even answer. She just said maybe I should go somewhere else. Honestly I would've understood had she been AT ALL gracious about the fact that she couldn't get what I wanted done. But her tone and demeanor were absolutely awful. I felt completely terrible walking out of that place not to mention panicked about the fact that I need final alterations for a wedding in 3 weeks. Terrible experience. read more

Refused to take my measurements! And she's a tailor! I brought two pairs of pants to be hemmed and asked her to also take some additional measurements because I wanted to order a shirt online. Mrs. Liz said it would be of a waste of her time to take my measurements and told me off. She already had to take my leg measurements, this would have literally taken another two minutes. There were no other customers present. read more

Liz is a great tailor here in the Sugar land area. Very reasonably priced. I have a pants suit that she hemmed for me. The cost was $19. I called before going and she welcomed me in. She's been here many years. In the past, Liz has also made me a few simple maxi dresses for summer. read more

I have been going to Liz for around 10 years and she is such an amazing tailor! She is very sweet, hardworking, and the quality of her tailoring is outstanding. Highly recommend!! read more

Either she has no clients, which is why she feels like she has to charge $24 (cash only) for a minor lengthening of a toddler pajama, or she just has no idea that it is ridiculously expensive. She quoted me $24 bucks and said it would take almost 1 week to complete. Her hourly rate for that job would have been almost $300. Terrible customer service, rude, and truly not worth the time and the money. I literally could buy 2 brand new pajamas for that price. Thanks lady. Not going back there. read more

I love her! She always does my daughters dresses for prom, homecoming, etc. great small business

I love this place. It's nothing fancy, but she is extremely talented, professional, and her prices are fair. Her work is pretty perfect.

I brought in 2 dresses and 2 pairs of pants. The pants just needed to be hemmed and the 2 dresses had to be taken in to fit properly. I didn't even have to tell her what I wanted to be done, she just pinned until everything fit and I could tell she really knew what she was doing. I picked up my items 7 days after dropping them off. She did an amazing job! I even asked to keep the fabric from the pants she hemmed for me and she remembered to include it. Cash or check only. I'll definitely be back. read more

stay away from this place!!! brought my 4 year old daughter school uniform to get 2 inches alter and they charge me $43!!! that's insane!! i was giving another price when i went and now my husband just picked it up and they charge him $43!! that was more then what i paid for the uniform!! !! dirty people! i do not recommend!! read more

Like the friendliness of the owner. Had never tried this place and it's right around the corner. Expect to return.

I have gone to Liz's Tailor on two occasions to get dressed adjusted. The adjustments to the dresses were excellent. Very professional and with a quick turnaround. Reasonable pricing as well. I will come back when needed. read more

Prices on their advertising wall for Prices as Follows: $16 to take in a skirt or dress- NO! It's $38!!!!! 10$ for a 2 " sew up of a dress slit. 3 dresses altered caist $160 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That cost more than the dresses themselves. When pointing out the prices lists on the wall, they said, NO. That is False Advertising!!!!!!!!!!!! do not go there. I can't believe they have not been shut down. That is cheating the customer, by posting one price on a sign, the customer agreeing to it, then charging triple the price, and not telling the customer they plan on changing their price from what is on the wall, when the customer is charged. DO NOT GO HERE. If you could see the finished product you would say they aren't professional seamstresses. The charge that was not reflective on any price list was just the bust to it all. Will Never Ever go back here. Rip Off! read more

I had two items that needed to be altered, one was a very intricate bridesmaid dress and another was a sheer jumpsuit. Both items needed to be hemmed, taken in at the waist, and adjusted. I was nervous that because of the material of both items, it wouldn't turn out like I needed. But the services exceeded all my expectations, and I'm a VERY picky person. It took about two weeks to get my items back, but it was worth the wait because of the overall quality of the work. The only downside is was the price. For two items, it was about $40 each, which I think it quite steep, but both items needed a bit of work. I've definitely found my seamstress here in Houston! read more

I have been patronizing Liz's for more than 5 years and have been very pleased. She is the owner and runs the shop very well. She is knowledgeable, adept at fitting and is able to consistently deliver items at the day and time agreed on. Liz is friendly and courteous, also warm and helpful. One more thing: she can scale up or down the quality of work to suit your needs. We were filming some Bible stories and needed numerous priest and soldier costumes for the kids, but we're on a budget and didn't need perfection. Liz understood and modified the sewing to be quicker and therefore less expensive. We were so happy! read more

I recently went to Liz's shop to get a shirt, 2 pairs of jeans, and a suit jacket tailored for a wedding and they did a Fantastic job! They were very fast, friendly, and reasonably priced for the work done. I would absolutely recommend visiting this shop for tailoring needs. I will be back again. read more

I went to Liz's tailor for the firs time to have them tailor a pair of pants for me. After they charged an outrageous $40 for the pants I tried them on to find out the length was too short and not at all what i asked for. I went back and they refused to refund me and wanted to charge again just to adjust the length. I went to a different tailor to have them fixed. I will never go there again. read more
