Liz's alterations and judgment on fit is always spot on. I go out of my way to use her but it's worth it.

I love this place. It's nothing fancy, but she is extremely talented, professional, and her prices are fair. Her work is pretty perfect.

But the services exceeded all my expectations, and I'm a VERY picky person.

I went here by accident, thinking this is where my friend recommended. When I told her about my…read morehorrible experience after the fact, she told me she only goes to Liz Tailor down the street and I would have never been treated the way Kent treated me. I went in March to have my one shouldered dress altered. It was too gappy in the chest area. I assumed it would just need a dart or two. He said he would take in the strap on the one shoulder and pinched it up to show me. That took care of the gaping in the chest, so I said okay. When I went to pick it up 5 days later, they seemed shocked I wanted to try it on first. It was so painful and tight only wearing it in the store for a few minutes, it left red indentions on my neck for hours. The waistline was now skewed because they changed the strap so much. Kent wasn't there then. The lady said the extra was tucked inside the part of the strap where they took it in and could let it out. Leaving it there meant I missed out on taking this dress on the trip I was getting it altered for. When I went back to pick it up after that trip, Kent was there. At first they couldn't find the dress and tried to give me someone else's dress. I then tried on my dress. I don't know what they did, but now the arm hole was too small and I couldn't even raise my arm up. I told him I couldn't even wear the dress. He scolded me in front of other customers and said it was because my chest was too big (obviously it's not since that was the area I originally needed to have taken in). He just wanted me to pay the $30 and leave. I refused to pay since the dress was unwearable. He finally said he could cut the armhole bigger but that wasn't what the original quote was for. The armhole was never an issue before he hacked my dress up. When I went the 3rd time to pick it up, it still didn't fit right but it was better that his previous 2 attempts. So I paid the $30, took the dress, and never wanted to see him again. It would have been better had I just continued using saftey pins in the chest area instead of taking it to him.

I thought this was kind of expensive for the material (which felt cheap) but again, I came here for convenience since I did not want to drive far so I was fine with it. Make sure you pay cash or you'll get seriously upcharged. My total was $50 and when I tried to pay with credit card he charged me $59.50. Thank goodness my mom and I looked through our wallets and pulled out whatever cash we had and paid the 50.

I've been using Anna for years for alterations and dressmaking. She's good and cheap! She has…read moreshortened pants (usually $10 a pair). Also, repaired small holes in clothing, altered shirts, and made dresses from scratch for me! Recently I brought in 3 pairs of pants that had small holes in them (yes, I make a mess of my clothes). She repaired them all for a grand total for $6.50. Crazy cheap, right? I was a bridesmaid in a wedding a few years ago. The bride provided the fabric (silk with little lines in it - hard to work with because of the lines). The bride gave us the pattern and we had to get it made. I brought it to Anna. She made the dress with alterations (I wanted the neckline much lower than she originally made it). Dress made with multiple alterations all for about $100. CHEAP. the other bridesmaids (who were from all over the country) said the cheapest they found was $200. Why 4/5 stars? Because I asked her to fix a sweater, but she can't do woven stuff (it's a knit sweater.) 12/2011 Update: She has a new location: She's NOT easy to find the first time. There are two sets of 1970s looking two story buildings off of 59 north just north of Sugar Creek. She is in the one farther from 59. The buildings are just next to Berry Hill Tamales when you are heading down the feeder. She's on the 1st floor on the front of the building (facing toward the freeway). Tip: Ask the price before you leave your stuff. She does take cash and checks. I don't think she takes credit cards (She's a one woman business). Also, don't start chatting with her about you, life, etc... because when you get her started she won't let you leave. If you keep it all business, so will she.
