Good quality fish! Love the Latin & Japanese fusion cause I'm able to enjoy carne asada fries and sushi at the same time :) yummm! They're open for take out and delivery. You can order directly from their website. Order form says it can take up to 45 mins but it's usually done way before. They said they press a button to notify you when your food is ready but I didn't get any notification. So not sure how long my raw fish was sitting out waiting to be picked up. I recently received a dm from someone in response to my previous review. They claimed to have saw me on camera throwing chopsticks on the floor. I couldn't reply because I think I was blocked. In my prev review, I stated there were BEANS and chopsticks at the first table we sat at. So tell me did I throw beans on the floor too? If so how did I do that if we didn't even get a menu yet?? Let me guess, you saw me pull beans out of my purse and throw them along with the chopsticks?? Please don't slander my character like this. This is highly offensive!!! I ordered here one day for dinner. It was delayed but no notice was given. If they were busy, a notice or message would be greatly appreciated. So it kind of started on the wrong foot there, but I try to be understanding due to cov19 and everything. Food honestly was okay, but expensive. I got avocado shrimp bowl, but there wasn't much in it. I had the stack and that was good. I had chose cream cheese, kani and shrimp tempura. I also had shrimp tempura. It was decent. This is my first time ordering from this store. I ordered through the doordash app and was soooo disappointed with the quality of this sushi. There were gigantic pieces of soft and warm cucumbers in my rolls, barely any shrimp in the shrimp avocado rolls and about 9 pieces of ginger for the 24 rolls that I ordered. I'm so disappointed with this restaurant because I had such high hopes. There was so much rice in the sushi, it just felt like rice and seaweed balls. I'm trying to consider the fact that they closed about 20 minutes before my order was picked up so that could've been why but i'm still frustrated. read more

My God my God is all I can say after biting into that San Juan sushi I just ordered. I live literally a few blocks away and was nervous to try the place since due to its location I grew up in north Philly never had anything good off Girard st but let me tell you I will be coming here as long as they're open food is amazing so flavorful and fresh im so mad i didn't try them sooner im puerto rican and black and love Asian foods so this was like a taste from heaven and totally fulfilled my craving.i can't wait to go eat here when covid is over with my bf and girlfriends its perfect. I felt the food was ok. I feel like the waiter needs a little practice, she was very kind but not very attentive to our table. Now this issue I'm going to address is something I'm guessing the owners decided on the spot. Apparently 2 separate customers sitting at 1 table can't have their individual coupons honored because the check comes through as 1 or at least that's what the waiter told us. That's fantastic. Subpar service with ok food and a forced 20% service fee. Maaaaaaaaaannnn listen have you ever had an organism in your mouth?!?? I ordered from this place to have it delivered to my job and they did not disappoint. The presentation of the sushi looked very professional like you were looking at it on the menu. I ordered the salmon sushi rolls and from first bite I couldn't help but to roll my eyes with every chew. It tasted so fresh. Everything was just right. My co worker came over and tried one and loved it just as much that she called and placed an order for it as well. The price wasn't bad at all it was $7 for a Sushi meal which if you love sushi you know sushi is not cheap! It tasted so good that I was upset that I finished it lol. Combining Japanese and Latin Cuisine is so genius..Love love love this place!! Had a get-together with some friends and was craving sushi. We ordered directly from their website and was able to pick it up within 25 min. Had Shrimp Avocado bowls, Casa Wings, Philly Green Dragon Roll, Takayama Delight, and they even had my favorite desserts- Tres Leches cake and Flan. Everything was super fresh and delicious. I just moved to the area and stopped in for dinner randomly, and it was a great decision! They have a few traditional rolls, but most of the menu is creative selections. For a good time..... I knew that title would intrigue you. But I used it in the context of great food and service. "La Sushi" is a quaint restaurant in Philly that will not only satisfy your hunger but need to socialize. We heard that La Sushi mixed traditional Japanese sushi with a Caribbean flair. They do and it is a resounding success. I had the "El Morro" which was shredded pork, avocado, beans and rice rolled in sweet plantains. Wow, not only did it taste fantastic it reminded me of my Puerto Rican grandmother's cooking. But if your in the mood for just sushi try their "Royal" or "Philly Green Dragon" both were well prepared, seasoned and a pure delight to your taste buds. The service was just as good and they tended to my family and I as if we were long lost friends (FYI our dinner group were all vaccinated and masked). It's a small spot with only a few tables properly spaced and protected so if they are at capacity do not fret take out is just as good. So if you happen to be in Philly I recommend you stop off at "La Sushi" and enjoy a great meal and service. read more

Went to La Sushi and I had a very pleasant experience. I heard about this place via Instagram after seeing a few people post up pictures and knew I had to stop by. The restaurant has a "lounge" feel to it. For a neighborhood that's usually very hipster-ish, this feels slightly upscale( in a good way). I grabbed a seat at the bar and took a look at the menu. Now, for me , i don't particular like seafood, so I was interested in trying out the alternative sushi they offered. I'm a huge fan of Corned Beef ( seriously , i want it with everything !) so i wanted to try their Boricua Roll. From the very first bite, I already knew this place would become my "treat myself" spot. The Boricua roll consist of Plátano Madura ( fried sweet plantain), avocado, wrapped in rice with corned beef on top. It may sound weird but the sweetness of the plantain with the savory flavors of the corned beef is something i am here for every single day. I ate all 8 rolls with the quickness. 8 wasn't enough for me so I decided to try another tray. The server encouraged me to try the DJ Redz Roll(ñames after the owner) which consisted of Steak, chicken, shrimp(had this removed), avocado and sweet plantain wrapped in Rice rolls with Spicy Mayo-Ketchup Sauce drizzled on top. This was sooo good as well. I was finally content and full with those two things so I was ready to go. I saw that they had a full bar along with beers so I'm interested in seeing if they have happy hours specials in the future. I am also ready to go back and try the rest of the menu. The service was great and I look forward to coming here more often, it won't disappoint. read more

I used to get food here all the time. The last three times i've ordered something has been missing and/or wrong from my order. I always get pink soy instead of seaweed because I can't eat seaweed- this usually isn't a problem here or anywhere but this time they wrapped my roll in seaweed and then just put pink soy on the outside? Ordered $45 worth of food from Grubhub, to be honest it was the worst thing I have ever had. Wings were soggy, gummy and gross. El Morro rolls was just in edible. Carne Asada fries were ground beef with mushy fries the spicy roll was the only thing that had some decent flavor. If I lived further than a block away I could toss it up to delivery and distance. This was not the case. Never have I wished I could get a refund from grubhub in my life. My trash can will be stuffed from all of this food. read more

Ordered delivery from here and was pleasantly surprised. I was hesitant because the combo of Latin food and Sushi is rare, but they nailed it. I got two traditional rolls and tried the veggie tempura roll (sweet potato, asparagus, plantains) and they were all really good. The rolls were also bigger than usual which was nice. read more

This is hands down the best sushi I've ever had. And I've eaten sushi from many different spots here in the city. They are always fresh, and the rolls are huge. My favorite is the spicy salmon roll and I like to add cucumber. It tastes amazing every time! It's the chunks of salmon not the ground up stuff. This has been my second time dining at this restaurant. The first time was an ok experience but not the best. However, I decided to give it another chance. The place is small and cramped, only about six tables and a small sit down bar. We were barely greeted and told to sit wherever we would like. We sat down and waited about 20 min to receive menus to look at. After a few minutes we put our order in and the waiting game began. We ordered the casa wings, el boricua rolls and la chaparra rolls. We also had to get soda because they no longer have a liquor license, or got moved to "another location", as we were told by our server who we barely saw after our drinks were served. After an hour our appetizer, the casa wings, were finally brought out. They are supposed to be sweet and spicy however they forgot to add the sweet part. Then we continued to wait for our main course, as one does and another 30 minutes goes and nothing. I flag the server down and ask for a box for the wings so they weren't taking up space on our extremely small table. Five minutes goes by and we get our box but still no entrees. Then another server brings us our check. We look confused, I ask where is the rest of our food and they look back confused. I explain that we had been waiting for some time and had not received our main dish. I understand it's not her fault however, the initial server should have known. So we ask for our main dish to-go and will never be returning again. Food is mediocre, ambiance is lack luster, servers and wait times are horrendous for how small of an establishment it is. read more
