I'm not sure when they moved to their 2 level shop on Main street, nor do I remember what was here before. Afterall, Gayle and I have been coming to Ashland every year (except COVID) since 2006. I found a nice short and nice fitting sleeve button down shirt for 40% off and a useful Fjällräven travel pouch. There was more to consider, but that will have to wait for the next trip or closer to a future ski season. Store staff were more than helpful in leading me onward.

Her philosophy is that Outback in the Temple of Venus is a place where women can go to be heard and seen and cared for and listened to, and also they sell clothes. I felt totally comfortable with her. I was the only customer for most of the time I was there, and we chatted nonstop. I was there until closing time and she never rushed me. They have items from $10 to $300+, and sizes from XS to 3X. Nice mix of natural fibers and synthetics. From the factory they had an absolutely overwhelming chemical/sulfur smell -- so bad you couldn't even stand near them. This wasn't wear-and-tear, it was clearly from the dye/manufacturing process. I went back to exchange them (no tags, but clearly unworn and within the return window) and was treated horribly by two employees, Daniel Slater and Alexis -- one of whom said they were a manager. I was flat-out denied any help because the tags were missing, with zero attempt to acknowledge the manufacturing issue or offer a solution. No flexibility. No customer service. No respect for long-time customers. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable -- just an exchange for a defective item. Instead I walked out frustrated and honestly shocked at how dismissive they were. Just a heads-up for anyone shopping there: if something is wrong with a product, don't expect Boot Barn to stand behind it.
