So it was Friday and me and Magda decided to go for Mexican. The place is city center but neighborhood is quite quite. The place it self Is very small and some times you can't even concentrate on the person you have a dinner as you can hear what people around are talking about. I liked the interior, even though that it is quite dark inside it sort of fit that place. The menu is not very big, we go for nachos, shrimp burrito and tacos with pork. Nachos are nice and they come with 3 salsas of your choice. We had guacamole, mango an chipotle. They were quite nice but guacamole was missing some salt as for me. Tacos were also very nice, loads of meat on them. Burrito also was good. Although there was more salad than shrimps. I left la sirena with full tummy, but to be honest I will not be a big fan of Mexican food.

I love Dziurka od klucza so going to check out La Sirena was just a matter of time. Finally I arrived and I have to admit I was NOT disappointed. Everything: interior design, staff, food is amazing. The moment you cross the door you come in the whole other world. Simple with Mexican accents. The waiter pointed to our table by saying it's the one with cactus on it. Loved it! Remember to make reservation place get crowded fast and here is why.. Food is undesirable great! We started with totopos which came with 3 salsas: chipotle, guacamole and mango ( you can choose yours from wide selection). I heard that they make chips there so it's understandable why they were so fresh and crispy. We also tried carnitas tacos with pork(juicy and tasty) and marinated pineapple. And shrimp burrito - so good. Shrimp were fresh and big which is the most important when it comes to sea food. Smaczliwka - drink made from avocado was smooth and sweet , Nube more sour with tequila flavore. As there is nothing that I didn't like about this place it gets 5 starts but also I highly recommend it!soooo gooood!

The food, though, tasted quite different from what I've had in Mexico. The enchiladas and burrito had their own unique twist, not quite traditional but interesting. Service was good, and there were lots of drink options. A nice spot if you're nearby and want to hang out or be social with friends.

The classic margaritas to start were refreshing and delicious. They served complimentary tortilla and salsa to begin with, and the tortillas- that they make there!- were very good. I had the Barbacoa quesadilla, and husband had the chimichanga. The quesadilla was good, but skip the guac, it's not worth it. The chimichanga was really just fajita chicken and veggies in a seriously deep-fried tortilla, but it was good. They gave little finger bowls for washing your hands after you eat, so be careful in knowing what this is ;) they are not trying to be silly with the glassware The kitsch was quite over the top (server outfits and fake guns with the bill...not sure what they're going for here) and it was imho a bit inappropriate. So, there's also that. But if you're really craving something that passes for Tex-mex, this is the best from what we've tried so far

After exploring 5-8 "Mexican restaurants" in Warsaw, dos tacos is the most traditional Mexican (not…read moreTex-Mex") we have been able to find. Tacos are flavorful and serve on soft corn tortilla, as Mexican culture suggests. Nopales are a delicacy and beans soup tastes like home. Strongly recommend the "michelada" if you are willing to try spicy Mexican beer. Best part: our waitress spoke excellent Spanish and English. Oh! Beware of "kids parties" as it can get very noisy. I suggest to call ahead and make sure no kids parties have been schedule.

The food tasted OK, but it didn't impress me or the people I had dinner with. I ordered a quesadilla and it looked and tasted like somebody made it hours ago and it just got reheated prior to serving. The cheese wasn't melting and stretching like I usually like my quesadillas, and the cheese mix used in it was average. My companions ordered fajitas and I was surprised that some of the provided tortillas were actually a little hard! Overall, I'd say it was okay, but I'd recommend to avoid if you can go to other Mexican restaurants that are better. If you happen to be in the area, give it a go but don't bring your hopes up.

Based on the advice of a "local," my colleagues and I went in search of an authentic and good vodka bar. We found it, META. Unfortunately, it was crowded and we could not get a table... there is a reason, good drinks and great people. We found an open table in a bar next to META, La Fiesta, Tequila Bar, but before we left META's area, a table of "locals" that quickly befriended us offered me a shot of his vodka that his table was drinking...who am I to say "no?" Great folks and vodka. So...although a tequila bar, we wanted to drink some good, Polish vodka, not available in the states - our waiter, in a hushed voice stated that he has a great vodka that is the best NOT on the menu, but available. With such a great build up, how can we not partake. So after a few minutes, he returns with a bottle of...wait for it, BELVADERE?!?!? I admit, we looked at each other and said, WTF? Its vodka that's available back in the states...so we quickly begrudgingly drank it and returned to our hotel where we had some authentic Polish vodka (Wyorowa) not found in the states. So, IF in Warsaw looking for great vodka and camaraderie (drinking is an international activity), go to META...IF looking for tequila and Mexican food, La Fiesta may be the place for you. I cannot comment on either as I did not partake in the food nor tequila, but based on what they served as the best vodka in Poland...I would pass.

That being said, if you are tired of the usual pork, potatoes, stews, cabbage, etc. and have a hankering for something Mexican, then this place will offer up something comparable to the pseudo-Mexican appetizers one gets from Applebee's or TGI Friday's. The service and atmosphere are both fine, but the prices are just a tad bit high for what they are serving.
