    Medium lemon margarita
    Federico G.

Pros: live music Thursday/Sunday nights, speedy service, large margarita servings, outdoor seating, location Cons: it can get loud, outdoor patrons might smoke around you We came to Frida craving Mexican cuisine, and we were not disappointed. I ordered a "medium" lemon margarita (there was a large option) and it was the size of Harry Potter's goblet of fire . If you're looking for a place to get some drinks with your food, this is definitely the place. We ordered beef tacos and chicken fajitas. The tacos plate comes with 2 tacos, rice and a side of guac and sour cream. The fajitas came with 3 tortillas, a large platter of chicken/peppers/onions and a few side sauces (pico de gallo, fried beans, sour cream, guacamole). We definitely got more chicken that the three tortillas were able to hold, so you might need to order extra unless you're a master fajita stuffer!

Nice place with good ambiance, the walls are decorated with Frida style art, lots of color. The service was good as was the food. Not super traditional but pretty close.

Delicious margaritas. Had a bit of a problem with a waitress that brought us strawberry margaritas , instead of ordered original ones , and made it sound like it was our fault that she brought us the wrong kind. But after we got the right ones , it was good from there. Food was delicious , worth quite a wait. We found the tables a bit too crowded on the patio , no room to maneuver the chairs at all. Also a bit pricey , but isn't the whole Warsaw ? Paid over $100 for dinner for 3.

Named after the painter Frida Kahlo, the restaurant at Nowa Swiat serves food that arguably is among the best Mexican around. There were multiple gluten-free options (always a good test), and the "patronne" brought us corn tortillas she had baked herself. The fajitas were perfectly balanced with spices and topped with the most tasty home-made guacamole. (You realize you have eaten a lot of tame stuff before) The staff was friendly "can-do!" type of people. the chef had been in Mexico to study and collect recipes. They will serve you the real thing.. The restaurant is decorated with copies of Kahlo paintings which gives the place intense atmosphere. If you are after a special experience, this is the place.

Let's see if it tastes as good as it looks.

We've all been there, right? Looking forward to that first bite of something you have been craving for a while. This was me in the case of Mexican food. Since moving to Poland three months ago I haven't had Mexican, which right up there with Thai was one of my go-to favorites. My anticipation had built up so much that I almost didn't want to try it here because I was afraid I would be disappointed. Anyway, you can probably guess where this review is going with Frida--that's right disappointment. The burrito I ordered was hard like so hard I struggled with my knife to cut it! The filling was good but the tortilla is such an important part of the burrito that I can't let it slide. How do you cook a tortilla so that it is almost impenetrable? The service was okay and the pricing isn't terrible but this experience put me off to trying Frida's other offerings.

I've been to Frida before with my husband. It was a long time ago. My husband tried the tomato soup which was really good. I don't exactly remember his main course was, but mine was grilled garlic shrimps (i think). They were really good but it was like 6 or maybe 7 shrimps only. This time i went with a friend. We got nachos which was a bit of a disappointment. It's like tortilla chips you get from a store and a little bit of cheese spread on them. So basically you could do this at home! And it would cost you roughly 3 zł! So if you want my advice, don't order the nachos. My friend ordered the corn soup. I tried it and it was good to me; not as good as the tomato soup for sure though. Bu maybe that was because the taste of ginger was so apparent that i didn't like it. I liked the salty feta cheese flavor with the sweetness of the corn creamy soup, though. Maybe without the ginger it would've been good. I ordered shrimp tacos. They served me two big tacos. It was great, if only the shrimps were more flavored at least with salt, it would've been greater. One taco made me full and i took the rest home. The interior is really cool. It makes you feel like you're really in a Mexican restaurant. The service is good too. The waiter was nice. However, i think that it's pricy, and you could actually find cheaper Mexican restaurants in Warsaw.

Nice place on the main tourist road with not so high prices, great designe and good food. I had fajitas with beef and it was really good. The waiter was nice and helpful. They have also promotions like buy 2 tequilas get one free or 2 fajitas pay for one and a half.

The food, though, tasted quite different from what I've had in Mexico. The enchiladas and burrito had their own unique twist, not quite traditional but interesting. The classic margaritas to start were refreshing and delicious. They served complimentary tortilla and salsa to begin with, and the tortillas- that they make there!- were very good. I had the Barbacoa quesadilla, and husband had the chimichanga. The quesadilla was good, but skip the guac, it's not worth it. The chimichanga was really just fajita chicken and veggies in a seriously deep-fried tortilla, but it was good. They gave little finger bowls for washing your hands after you eat, so be careful in knowing what this is ;) they are not trying to be silly with the glassware The kitsch was quite over the top (server outfits and fake guns with the bill...not sure what they're going for here) and it was imho a bit inappropriate. So, there's also that. But if you're really craving something that passes for Tex-mex, this is the best from what we've tried so far

Tacos are flavorful and serve on soft corn tortilla, as Mexican culture suggests. Nopales are a delicacy and beans soup tastes like home. Strongly recommend the "michelada" if you are willing to try spicy Mexican beer. Best part: our waitress spoke excellent Spanish and English. Oh! Beware of "kids parties" as it can get very noisy. I suggest to call ahead and make sure no kids parties have been schedule.

The food tasted OK, but it didn't impress me or the people I had dinner with. I ordered a quesadilla and it looked and tasted like somebody made it hours ago and it just got reheated prior to serving. The cheese wasn't melting and stretching like I usually like my quesadillas, and the cheese mix used in it was average. My companions ordered fajitas and I was surprised that some of the provided tortillas were actually a little hard! Overall, I'd say it was okay, but I'd recommend to avoid if you can go to other Mexican restaurants that are better. If you happen to be in the area, give it a go but don't bring your hopes up.

Based on the advice of a "local," my colleagues and I went in search of an authentic and good vodka bar. We found it, META. Unfortunately, it was crowded and we could not get a table... there is a reason, good drinks and great people. We found an open table in a bar next to META, La Fiesta, Tequila Bar, but before we left META's area, a table of "locals" that quickly befriended us offered me a shot of his vodka that his table was drinking...who am I to say "no?" Great folks and vodka. So...although a tequila bar, we wanted to drink some good, Polish vodka, not available in the states - our waiter, in a hushed voice stated that he has a great vodka that is the best NOT on the menu, but available. With such a great build up, how can we not partake. So after a few minutes, he returns with a bottle of...wait for it, BELVADERE?!?!? I admit, we looked at each other and said, WTF? Its vodka that's available back in the states...so we quickly begrudgingly drank it and returned to our hotel where we had some authentic Polish vodka (Wyorowa) not found in the states. So, IF in Warsaw looking for great vodka and camaraderie (drinking is an international activity), go to META...IF looking for tequila and Mexican food, La Fiesta may be the place for you. I cannot comment on either as I did not partake in the food nor tequila, but based on what they served as the best vodka in Poland...I would pass.

That being said, if you are tired of the usual pork, potatoes, stews, cabbage, etc. and have a hankering for something Mexican, then this place will offer up something comparable to the pseudo-Mexican appetizers one gets from Applebee's or TGI Friday's. The service and atmosphere are both fine, but the prices are just a tad bit high for what they are serving.
