Very friendly people you walk in the counter to order is right there. They're very attentive to your needs. They explain dishes. It's your typical old school red tablecloth Italian restaurant the old-school recipes. The pizza is good. I've had better but it's a good pizza. You won't be disappointed the pasta dishes are good with their specialty sauces. The lasagna was OK. The eggplant Parm was very good. Ordered delivery on a Saturday evening. Very quick delivery and the food, a pizza and their meat lasagna, was very good. Lasagna had a delicious marinara sauce over. Pizza was crusty and just the right amount of ingredients. Caesar salad had a bit too much dressing on it, but no big deal. The garlic bread was excellent and their was plenty of it. That is probably some of the best penne a la vodka I've ever had. The sauce was just completely on point. Garlic bread was a little overdone for me but still made decent sponge for sopping up that sauce. Blah! Our first (and last) take-out dining experience was extremely disappointing. The Margaretha "gourmet" pizza we ordered was thin, bland, and burnt on the bottom. What a fantastic restaurant!!!! The food is so delicious I love coming here with my buddies every time we get the chance. The baked ziti and the pizza they make is so delicious. The owners are extremely friendly and nice to every customer, Kirsten the one cashier is extremely polite and friendly she is amazing!!! The seating area is also phenomenal as it is very decorative and a good amount of T.Vs and paintings to show off their culture! My work brought me to Oxford, PA recently. I needed to grab a bite to eat before work and my coworker told me La Sicilia had good slices. I entered the venue and received a welcoming reception from the man behind the counter. I asked for a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage. The host said the slices would be done shortly and he offered me a seat. La Sicilia was very clean and organized. The venue was large and had plenty of seating. The host brought my slices out and I picked a drink from the cooler. The slices were big and loaded with toppings. I took a picture for my review and then I got down to business. First I want to say I loved the temperature of the pizza. Nobody wants to burn the roof of their mouth or have all the cheese and toppings slide off because the slice is too hot. I started with the sausage which was yummy. I enjoyed the savory sausage, rich cheese and the soft crust. The pepperoni slice was just as good. The pepperoni had a robust and flavorful taste that was slightly sweet, smoky, and spicy. I can't wait for my next job in Oxford. I'll be returning to La Sicilia to try some other dishes. read more

Oh wow, their pizza is DELICIOUS! Boyfriend got the hand tossed pepperoni pizza. I got the Gourmet Sun-dried tomato pizza (comes with artichokes and mushrooms, on a white pizza base). We split mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks remind me of those at Swarthmore Pizza (which I've missed). I filled up on the mozzarella sticks so I was only able to eat 2 pieces of the pizza. Even getting a small was worth every penny. The sun dried tomatoes were spectacular- so full of flavor, you know it's a great quality! The mushrooms weren't from a can, and the artichokes were tender and tasty. We've gotten salads here before and we weren't impressed, so I'm glad we totally didn't give up on this place! My family and I ordered La Sicilia wanting some tasty Italian but without having to make it. It has good reviews online and people around here seem to really like it. We ordered all different pasta dishes. The shrimp scampi was very garlicy but that was it in the way of flavor. The saltimboca had a lot of veggies which I wasn't expecting but the flavor again was very lack luster like watery tomato sauce. My dad ordered the lasagna and it was not too bad. Lots of meat the sauce was good. My mom got the chicken piccata and it was again very disappointing. No capers. The sauce was not lemony at all. Just for such a classic fish there was no flavor. Overall. We did not enjoy our trip to la Sicilias. I do want to try there pizza one night because a lot of it was going out and I wanna see what all the hype was about. read more

Their pizza is very good but we have now had hair in our pizza twice. This last time we called to let them know and asked if we could have another pizza made. The woman was nice and said I think so but let me get the manager. The manager got on the phone and I nicely explained what happened. He told me "I don't know how that can happen because I have no hair." There were 4 other girls in that area where they make pizza, hair can get in there by walking by but the manager made me feel as if I was lying. They wouldn't make me a new pizza but told me the next time I come in I can get a free order. I hate to write this review especially during these times but they were not helpful. read more

La Sicilia is definitely Oxford's best place to eat. I found the manager, Robert, behind the counter to be incredibly thorough. He always makes sure that everything he prepares is fresh and to my liking. He is very personable and knows the customers by name. I always sit down to enjoy a nice fresh slice of plain while I'm waiting for my meal. My favorite is their penne vodka because not only do they use the finest prosciutto, the grilled chicken is so moist and juicy and the vodka sauce is unbelievable. It's a very clean place and very cozy. their menu is huge so definitely make sure that you try at least all their appetizers because it's hard to pick a favorite. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and your portions are very generous. It is definitely worth the value. Dining in at la Sicilia makes you feel like you're having Sunday dinner with your Italian grandma. read more

I really wanted to like this place- we live in the area and are still looking for an Italian restaurant we can go to on a regular basis. We ordered dinner items- chicken Sicilia and vodka penne. First the good: the sauce, vegetables, and pasta were cooked perfectly and tasted great. The chicken, however, was tough, chewy and stringy. If I wanted tough chicken, I'd eat at home. Please, people, learn how to properly cook chicken- it's not that difficult! But for that, the dish would have been perfect. We won't be returning. read more

I would like to thank the owner of La Sicilia for his generosity hosting 10 US Naval Academy Midshipmen for dinner at his restaurant the day before the Army-Navy Football Game. The Mids were in town to participate in a team run carrying a game ball from the Naval Academy in Annapolis to the Football Stadium in Philadelphia. These Mid ran in the middle of the night in the area. As a parent of one of those kids, it is always special and has meaning, when people show their support of our Military. So, at what distance from Philadelphia does a Philly Cheesesteak stop being a Philly Cheesesteak? I've personally seen sandwiches given this proud name at every corner of our vast country; in Boston, Key West, San Francisco, and even the Denver Airport. Did I try any of them?? Of course not, because...like eating soyburgers or fast-food chicken nuggets...it's just not the real thing. Well, even though La Sicilia is a solid 50 mile drive from Philadelphia (yet in a town almost as old), I'm officially giving this place the Best, Furthest-From-Philly Cheesesteak award. Yep, it's that good. Starting with a nice fresh roll, the steak is perfectly sized, perfectly seasoned, and perfectly delicious. Probably number 3 on my list, behind Jim's, and Dalessandro's, both of which actually have Philadelphia zip codes. So, don't think I'm a nut in that I drove 50 miles one-way just to eat a cheesesteak....that's not the case; I was there for work. But, judging by what got accomplished that day...it's pretty close. My experiences here have shown me that La Sicilia's overpriced for what you get in terms of both food and service. I have experienced the same service that another reviewer had over and over again. The entrees that run between $14 - $20 are pretty high for a place that has you order at the front register, getting up to retrieve your own food on a plastic tray, and then having to bus your own items. If I am paying this much money for an entree, I am not too happy about this either. I guess the good news is that I didn't have to give a tip! The entree and pizzas are pretty good although I would not say that they are any better than some of the surrounding establishments. Some of our friends are fans of this restaurant and visit frequently but they all have had complaints about the customer service. My family and I will not be back though. Customer service ranks highly in our book. When you have 5+ pizza shops located in a small area a business should strive for outstanding customer service. This is what sets your business apart. Never again. Foster daughter had a massive meltdown in the restaurant so we decided to get two plain pies to go. Big mistake. They were ordered at 6:40 and it took until 7:25 to get them. 4 people in the restaurant itself and saw two pies and a few subs leave. That was it. Meanwhile have 6 kids in the car, trying to keep her from hitting and kicking everyone and running into the road. She had already been running around the restaurant. We were parked directly in front of the propped open door so there's no way they didn't see me standing in traffic trying to control her and protect the baby with another kid in the driver's seat - and on two separate occasions people commented from across the street because they heard her so I'm not sure how they couldn't hear her - the two others who were crying by the time we left. The guy cooking the pizza just laughed at me when i went in to switch with my husband who was waiting because i physically couldn't do it anymore. In hindsight we should have stayed in there to wait. She would've had everything on the floor or broken and every last napkin shredded and anything else she could've gotten ahold of. I'm sure we would've had our pies in 15 minutes. Oh, and the wings we ordered sat done for 30 minutes waiting for the pies. We've always enjoyed this place in the past but will never, ever return. read more

It came with a side salad, which was just ice lettuce and a salty vinaigrette that was a bit heavy handed on the vinegar. The serving size was very large though. I can say that positively.
