I was a bit distraught because the bustle that my original seamstress made for my dress was not to my liking. It was actually quite ugly and I was hurt about it, but didn't have the heart to confront my original seamstress, who was very sweet, but didn't bustle my dress correctly. I picked my dress up Monday morning and was leaving town to head to my wedding location the following Saturday. I was freaking out a bit. Maria saw me that Tuesday afternoon, and did a fitting; I had a second fitting Thursday, and picked up my dress Friday! Dropped off 2 pairs of pants and a peacoat, with somewhat major alterations to all three pieces. When i brought them in, the seamstress took time to make sure everything fit the way i wanted them, adding some of her professional advice. 2 weeks later she called me to let me know she was a little behind, which imo i preferred as 2 of the articles are incredibly important to me and if a few days later then expected means they come out perfect, ill wait. Writing review for my bridesmaid after I saw what happened. She went in with a beautiful designer Alfred sung bridesmaid gown.. One that needed bodice altered and second that needed zipper put back on track. Maria was VERY rude and made her feel so uncomfortable in front of the other people sitting in the shop just staring. She first walked in and the bell on the door chimed. No one bothered to come greet her for almost 5 minutes while they could see her standing there but continued on with their conversations. Finally she decided after being ignored to walk back there and ask for some help. They continued their conversation, said hi to my friend, and continued to work on her machine. Spent another 5 minutes just standing there awkwardly while they just keep talking and ignoring her, except to glare every once in awhile. She finally spoke up and asked for help. Then Maria let's out a big sigh and asks if we're picking up. She replied no she has dresses that need to be altered for next week. Then rudely told her she can't help her for this week, in which she replied no next week and Maria still said no thanks she has enough work right now. Then goes back to ignoring and chatting with her friends. After her saying she can't do alteration on bodice my friend then said ok I have backup dress needs 2 mins of work as zipper is off track. She didn't even GET to say about the shortening of it and she looks up and is like I'm sorry but NO miss I can't do anything else for you in the rudest tone. Someone must have forgotten their roots. A seamstress is a trade and skill. It does not take an education. Your better than no one.. Get off your high horse. read more

I don't even know where to begin when talking about my experience at La Sarta Maria! Maria is a detail-oriented ball of fire and she makes sure every detail of her sewing is perfect! Both my wedding dress and my bridal shower dress was altered by Maria and she takes such pride in her work. Her talent is obvious in her work- she made my dress fit like a glove and gave me the gorgeous, flawless sweetheart neckline that I wanted my dress to have so badly! She is organized, utilizing an old school planner to book appointments and accommodate those of us with busy schedules. She is personable, professional and genuine. She gave me many compliments throughout all of my appointments which made me feel happy and comfortable, but she did make sure to tell me if she thought something would look better a certain way as well. For example, she vocalized that she preferred the French bussel on my wedding dress and it helped me make my decision to go with that look! I appreciated her honesty and trusted her 110%. At one point during one of my wedding dress fittings someone had come in trying to do a walk in appointment- she politely explained she had a dress fitting and had her assistant make them an appointment. It is obvious she values her customers, their time and their satisfaction with their garments and overall experience. Her shop is prestine and she was always sweeping and cleaning up to make sure my dresses stayed perfectly neat! Maria made my entire wedding dress "experience" perfect from beginning to end and I am so grateful I was able to work with her! read more

TERRIBLE Customer Service! Did not have the work completed when promised. Told me they would contact me with an estimated completion date, but NEVER called. I gave my phone number to THREE different employees, and the correct phone number was written on the pink slip they gave me, yet they said they tried to call me, but had the wrong phone number!? I was totally thrilled with Maria and her work on my wedding dress alterations. It was a bit of an elaborate fix and she showed nothing but confidence and positivity when tackling the job. Going to her shop was a great bridal experience as well, she always made me feel special and I had no worries that she would do the best possible job. Not very friendly to men. I had them tailor a jacket and then brought some pants back a few months later. The woman was visibly unhappy to see me. I could hear her talking in the back about how they didn't have time to wait on me and then she came out to tell me I needed an appointment. Looks like a great place for wedding dress alterations, but I guess I'll have to bring my pants elsewhere. read more

I walked in two days before a wedding (where I was the maid of honor) to get my dress hemmed, I was frantic because of how long it took to come in but they got the work done in one day! This place is amazing. I used to live in the area and am having my wedding reception here in the fall and Maria has worked so well with my schedule it's unbelievable. She got me in for a dress fitting and I came back the day I was leaving and she had all the alterations finished as well as the bustle!
