It's a perfect little spot with lots of amazing choices on the menu so you'll always find something that you like on there! My two favorite dishes on the menu are local specialities. If you are going to get raclette anywhere, this is the place to get it! Why you ask? The presentation! Their raclette heater is beyond beautiful! But enough about the heater, the cheese is fantastic and paired with their huge charcuterie platter and big bowl of potatoes and big bowl of salad it is absolute perfection! If you don't feel like you need to be rolled out of there, you didn't do it right! They give you a huge amount of cheese and so much meat to keep you busy. I also highly recommend their fondue. The fondue here is perfect in every single way. The keep an eye out to make sure the fire isn't too hot and burning the cheese and not getting too cold at the same time. If I remember correctly they use three different cheeses in their fondue so the flavor is spot on! We did fondue delivery from another place a week before and this fondue kicked it's butt! I shared this with my mother and when we got the pot, we thought they gave us way too much cheese but we managed to finish the whole pot it was that good! This is a great local spot and I would recommend it to any one in the area. Cozy up next to the fireplace, enjoy some wine and a nice raclette and you'll be one happy person! Situated at the top of Val Thorens, Les Balcons is almost a little resort in itself. Inside there is a lot of wood, some ski-related paraphernalia and a bit of tat. The food was great, snails (tender and garlicky) followed by a cheese fondue and a meat fondue - we all had to share the love! Other items on the menu include steaks, pizza and traditional Savoyard cuisine. Service was friendly but slow, this was made up for by a surprise for the birthday girl: ice cream with a sparkler/flare type thing. All in all, tasty and reasonably priced but probably not worth making the trip up from the centre of the resort for. As I mentioned: don't go expecting to eat immediately!

A burger and fry review…read more.. Service is great, even in a rush. Unfortunately, the food falls flat when considering the price. I don't take my burgers lightly and they are very difficult to fail at. The patty shank to meatball size and this spelled disaster for the obviously thawed out bun. Which, of course, fell to pieces. While I don't partake in this, many eat their burger with knife and fork here in France. At times, many burgers are prepared to be eaten in this fashion. However, I consider this a fail on both counts. The Fries were great, although in small portion. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Classic, they just left you wanting when you finished with the little, tin basket. Again, our service was great and the little, quaint room was packed! The product is good in a pinch, but you can find a better burger in this little village.
