I appreciated that they offered free available water and clean restrooms. They even supplied nice towels so you don't need to bring one if you're on a day pass. It also had a beautiful rooftop view. I'd definitely go back.

This is definitely a boutique hotel with a slightly edgy vibe and no elevator so pack light. The rooms are on the small side, but also still very accommodating. It feels like France or New York. It's enchanting. The staff is accommodating, sensitive, thoughtful, helpful, and overall wonderful. A special shout out to the manager, Mitchell ... who went above and beyond for us. The other manager is also exceptionally kind and we really loved her. I loved being greeted late at night after our Frenchman Street fun, by the night manager, who was absolutely delightful and I would also say a "alligator expert." The night staff is very attentive as well. We felt safe and comfortable. The shower-head in the bathroom is placed up high, for tall people, and is phenomenal and I wasn't expecting such a glorious shower. I love how the shutters create a complete blackout so you can sleep in. The mattress was phenomenal and housekeeping did an extraordinary job too. It's a very clean place. The pool is the perfect temperature... Even though it's small, it's charming and refreshing. My favorite thing about the pool is definitely the homemade piña colada's that are made with a unique twist... Absolutely delicious but if you have more than two, you might fall flat on your face. They should come with a warning label, because they are very strong ha ha ha.! I thought the food here was also really exceptional... Also, Eddie kept my water glass filled and made me feel special and welcomed. The ambiance at the Fountain Lounge is classic luxury. Plus, the staff is always on point. They even remembered my special occasion when I last dined there. Plus, the team was attentive and quite friendly. My only complaint is that the piano is no longer there. Apparently, the powers that be decided to remove the soul of the restaurant. In the days of old, a pianist played sets during dinner. Not only did it make guests truly appreciate the musical style of New Orleans, but the melodic music also drew others into the restaurant. What a shame to have lost the heart and soul of the restaurant. Yet, the staff does their best to create a warm and welcoming environment, while the chefs provide truly top notch cuisine. The Welcome: I stayed for just a night at HP&P---though I could've gone longer---to regroup from a work trip. I wanted to find a fresh, eclectic, albeit comforting space in the city that offered a New Orleans charm, still reminding me of where I was. This was that space. From the moment I arrived, Diana at the front desk welcomed me with an upbeat personality and offered me all the keys to the castle (my room key, details about the local happenings, parking pass, discount cards, and the like). It was refreshing how she still shared with me details current & upcoming events in the city, even after I shared that I was a local. I'm not always savvy on current events, so her tips came in handy! Parking: The hotel also offers safe, onsite parking with options for compact, electric, and larger vehicles. Diana was a supportive guide as I struggled in the compact zone ( I eventually made my way to the larger space which I found ease with getting into and leaving--for fellow parking-averse drivers, lol)! Room, Stay, Amenities: The room was equipped with coffee maker, coffee, tea (all of which were complimentary) as well as snacks & lagniappe available for purchase. The room itself is what led me to choose Peter & Paul for my back home stay. I loved the soft gingham pattern used throughout the Schoolhouse designs and relished in the Italian linens that gave the space a restorative air. I didn't mind if it were a room with yellow, green, or blue; as long as it had a desk for me to work on. Even the complimentary water and in-room glasses were charming, along with the robe that was also up for purchase in the shop downstairs! The stay also included complimentary access to towels and the pool less than a 30 sec walk away in one of the other lodging options. There's a restaurant, cafe and bar in the Rectory next door to the Schoolhouse--where I stayed. I enjoyed dinner and a drink there, and I highly recommend the charbroiled oysters. My server looked out for me and offered wonderful recommendations! Dominique checked me out and was quite supportive with reactivating my card upon having some trouble with my room key. All in all, I will definitely be staying at Hotel Peter & Paul again soon, and I recommend that you do the same!

A Pattern of Failure, Culminating in a Threatening and Hostile Incident…read moreWe are returning guests this was our third stay at Hotel Peter & Paul, always booking two rooms. That loyalty, unfortunately, has been rewarded with increasingly poor service and, on this visit, what I can only describe as threatening and hostile behavior from staff directed at my husband. Upon arrival, check-in was delayed by over an hour and a half, with no apology, no explanation, and no offer of any accommodation or goodwill gesture despite having traveled through the night. Staff attitudes throughout this interaction were dismissive and unwelcoming. We ultimately had to request a room change for our daughter ourselves, as no one offered any solution. Throughout our stay, housekeeping had to be requested every single day. It was never provided proactively or consistently, which is a fundamental expectation at any property, let alone one with Michelin recognition. The final incident is the reason I am compelled to document this review carefully. I had confirmed a late checkout of 12:00 PM. At 11:00 AM, a housekeeper entered our room without warning. My husband, who was about to shower, was not dressed. I immediately informed her that we had a late checkout. Rather than apologizing for the intrusion, she began yelling at my husband accusing him of not confirming the late checkout while he stepped back and closed the bathroom door to shower. What followed was deeply alarming: she proceeded to scream in the hallway, audibly using profane and degrading language about my husband, including obscenities, loud enough for other guests to hear. When my husband exited the room to address the situation calmly, a male staff member appeared and began yelling at and threatening him telling him how to "behave" and "act" as though we were the problem. This is a guest who said nothing, did nothing inappropriate, and was in his own room during confirmed late checkout hours. This conduct a housekeeper screaming obscenities in a hotel hallway and a male staff member physically confronting and threatening a guest is not a service failure. It is a serious incident that warrants formal documentation and escalation beyond a review. We have stayed at hundreds of properties across decades of travel. We have never experienced anything remotely like this. For a Michelin-recognized hotel to employ staff who behave this way toward paying, repeat guests is simply indefensible. We will not be returning, and we strongly encourage management to review the conduct of the individuals involved on the date of our checkout.
