Then when we got our bill they added a surcharge of 3.75% because we were using a debit card. Which is illegal to do in the state of Massachusetts. Never will be back. And that's information they should tell you before you sit down.

Their event coordinator and experienced staff helped us to select vendors, choose a menu, plan the ceremony, and choreograph the entire event so that it was unique, romantic, and memorable. On the evening of our wedding, our event coordinator personally attended to our needs, ensuring that every detail happened as planned. We had very specific expectations (with a dozen checklists to prove it!) and she and the staff exceeded every one. The deck and function rooms looked amazing; the food was fantastic; the service was courteous and attentive, but unobtrusive; and, most important, the evening flowed flawlessly, with no intervention from the either of us. We wouldn't be surprised to learn that Salvatore's also had something to do with the postcard-perfect sunset! ;) Months later, our guests continue to gush about the evening, including the food, the staff, and the venue itself. We are so happy that we chose Salvatore's for our wedding. We wouldn't change a thing.

However....went a second time and there was a different bartender (bigger woman with straw-like hair and glasses) who made this experience extremely uncomfortable, unenjoyable and overall hostile for my friends and I (on my birthday!). The minute we walked in she was rude.. "hi how are you?" "Got an I.d.?!?!??! Get all of your i.d.'s out!" Now I had just obtained my federal/new i.d. .. the dmv also let me hold on to my old hard copy while waiting for my new copy to come in. Anyways, I give her both because it was clear she would give me a hard time if I didnt. Her response? "What is this?! Why are you giving me two?! I dont know what this is?!"...uh, you dont know what a paper i.d. is?.....I didnt say this but that's what I had going through my head. After she carefully looked it over for five minutes I ordered a margarita. She said she "made it herself" ..the mix? I had no idea what she meant by that. Anyways...it was all mix. I paid a whopping five dollars for sugar in a cup. I'm tiny and let me tell you I had no buzz from this drink.. I truly believe it was all mix. Fast forward to an hour later. It's my birthday..my cousin orders a round of shots for the three of us. We were drinking mcgilicuddys (only 40% alcohol or something similar.. you know. The weak shit) another hour goes by and I go up to order us another round..when I tell you I felt like I was in an interrogation room with an officer I'm not joking. It was 21 questions. The first thing out of her mouth is "your cut off" mind you she said this extremely loud in front of everyone... I looked at her confused and said "what?" So then she asks me a series of questions: who are all these shots for? How many have you had total? You live pretty far. Dont you? I couldnt wrap my head around this. You cut people off when they have had too much or cause an altercation or theres some sort of instance where they are slurring their words..stumbling all over the place..right? I was none of the above. I then answered all her questions and kindly ending the conversation by saying, "it's my birthday and I am ubering home." In the back of my mind I'm thinking okay...half the place is tanked, have you shut anyone else off? I definitely felt targeted and stereotyped in this situation. I'm a young and attractive women. I felt from the moment I walked in, this woman had some sort of vendetta against me. So she gives me the 3 shots. After this I'm finally feeling nice and having fun playing pool with my family and friend. We go up for one last drink...its 12:15 and theres someone in front of us. Of course she talked to them forever and took her sweet time. Fast forward to 12:31 ...she screams at us "CANT SERVE YOU!" confused because the people in front of us just walked away with their drink, we ask what time is closing time? Her response....12:30. At this point I'm like okay she did that on purpose..we have been standing here for 15 minutes!! This is a joke, right?! So I told her this and she says "you have a long ride home I should have cut you all off hours ago!!" And then a blonde woman next to her (also a bartender there) jumps in very hostile and says "if she cut you off she has her reasons!" We left.... my cousin lives across the street, you could literally throw a rock at his house. Conclusion: I will never step foot in this place again because of that bartender. Did I add that she was trashed with a drink in her hand all night? I'm really not one to post reviews but I have never felt so embarrassed or disrespected like that in my life. Terrible service. And I understand that some people should be cut off but I was not over the limit, incoherent or rude in any way to this women. I felt it was a female, jealousy-type issue. My mother has said this to me before, when your young and pretty people will mess with you for no reason (people being ugly, and possibly older, women). I have never really experience that until last night. I finaly get what she was saying and this made me think of just that!!! So. If you see the overweight, older woman with brown, straw hair.....you might be in for a treat.i wish I had got her name.

One of the windows was broken in the room so it being the beginning of January you can imagine it was a quite cold in there. They let us use the kitchen but it was really dirty. The microwave was gross, I didn't even want to touch it! The plastic part that helps the glass inside move was also broken, so it didn't spin. The room itself was decent when you first look at it, but the more attention you pay to it you can tell they don't do much maintenance at all as there were cobwebs everywhere. There was also hole in the wall that was supposed to house some kind of electrical socket but was just open. Asked for a pitcher of water and by the time we finished it we saw that there was a gross clear glue type substance on the inside of the pitcher and when we told the person that gave us the pitcher, she just laughed and tried to wipe it off. Which she couldn't. All in all, gross place. If you must use them, prepare to pre-clean the place. You know, their job.

It's Time to jump into The TimeMobile & scour the Earth & take you to places from a different time that you won't believe still exist. We have set the dial to 1875 to the town of Haverhill MA. & Winnekenni Castle. Many people think that you have to jump the pond & visit Jolly Old England & The UK to see a Castle. Not True. America has many castles; unfortunately they are just not being promoted. This trip is less than 1 hour drive outside of Boston. Bring a Picnic basket, a water bottle & some good sneakers for an easy 20 minute nature walking hike. After your hike, head back to your car & pull out the picnic basket for a picnic on the green grass on the banks of the Lake. The inside of the Castle is Closed & is only open for Functions, Weddings & Special Events etc. Don't worry you will still be able to see the outside of the Castle close up, the Castle Grounds & lots of other cool stuff. Park your car at the bottom near the playground in the Parking lot or on the side of the road where the signs allow Parking. There are closer Free Parking lots on the way up but you will miss out on all the Adventure & The Winnekenni Castle Hike. So Park your car & follow the signs on Castle Rd. up to the Castle. There are multiple trails & if you like hiking & are more adventurous you can go for several miles all around the Lake. We're going to do an easy trek - a 20 minute hike up & lots of natural settings to see. You will travel along the dirt trails along the lake shore & up the hill to the Winnekenni Castle. THE HISTORY Winnekenni Park Conservation Area is 700+ acres that overlooks the Kenoza Lake which is Haverhill's primary drinking water source. Dr. James R. Nicola built the Castle between 1873 & 1875. He was inspired by the stone structures & castles he visited in England. This was his former residence that he used as a summer home. It is not a huge Castle but modest in size but beautiful. Speaking of Beautiful, the word Winnekenni is taken from the Algonquin Dialect meaning Very Beautiful. C Willis Damon was the Haverhill architect who designed this Magnificent Castle. In 1875 the city of Haverhill purchased it along with some additional land in later years. Besides nature walking & jogging, you can do bicycling, cross country skiing in the winter months, horse back riding & other activities. Like I said The Castle is open for Private Special Events. There is no tour here. They also have Special Public Events every so often that they open the Castle up & are either reasonably priced or even Free sometimes. Check the website for further details & upcoming events. You can check out my other review about Winnekenni Park also. There are picnic tables & benches here or just put a blanket on the green grass & Chill. There's even a Playground Area with Swings, a Slide etc here for Kids. So have a great time exercising, explore & learn about the great outdoors on your adventure, see a castle & have a fun picnic on the green grass on the outskirts of the lake. And guess what? IT'S ALL FREE! It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be Really Rich to have the Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've been Upgraded. Now You Can Live Like a King on a Limited Budget!
