Avoid at all cost. I see why these businesses use Groupon and Living Social. They wouldn't have business without them. I had a mani/pedi deal 5 days ago; I'm going to a real salon that specializes in nails to get them redone. My nail polish has bubbles in them, some of the polish was put on too thick and she did a horrible cuticle job. It's only 2 spa chairs and 2 desks. It's really small and awkwardly quiet. La Ritz does hair, nails, waxing and massage so each venture has its on little space. I think businesses try to incorporate all females needs into one place, but they really need to just have a specialty. The one girl who was there didn't have a brush to do a French and she didn't know how to do designs. In a real nail salon, not having the proper utensils would never be an option. I will say she took her time and really attempted a great effort which was why I tipped her even though my nails weren't done to my standards. It took her 2 hours to do my mani/pedi. Oh my gosh! Where do I begin?! -I wanted my partner and I to get massages, so I checked groupon & found a great deal. (Couples massage - $79) -I was not at all concerned that the place is not a huge chain like Spa Sydell or Massage Envy. Let's get started with the good stuff: -the place has a very calm feeling as soon as you walk in bc of the candles and whatnot. The customer service was great. -after asking what my problem areas were, we jumped right into it. She REALLY worked those areas. She did such a good job. It was honestly the best massage I've ever had. -I was a little nervous about choosing medium pressure bc some therapists are heavy handed. But this was def the perfect pressure. My partner got deep pressure and he loved his as well. *my therapist was Tisha (spell check). I recommend her *I dont know why other reviews are mentioning a charge on top of the groupon. I came in for a simple manicure. I'm from out of town and I came across this spa/salon via a phone app. I arrived on time and was greeted as soon as I walked through the doors. I made an appointment and they found my appointment right away. Because it was my first time I was asked to fill out a survey for consultation. About 3 minutes later I was introduced to my manicurist, Pamela. Very cordial and efficient. I appreciate small talk kept to a minimum during these kinds of services, yet Pamela and I held a convo as if we were old friends. The atmosphere was very calming, and although the same track played throughout my appointment, the music kept me at ease. Pamela is very knowledgeable and gentle. I appreciate her attention to details as well. I had a very relaxing experience. The next visit will be for more than just a manicure. read more

I had an excellent facial last week from this spa by Teisha.I did not get my receipt for the facial and products I bought last week, therefore, when I got home last week, I immediately called back and left message that I did not get my receipt and will get it when I come in for my back needling scheduled for next week. Well, today is next week and I requested my receipt at least five times from the young lady at the desk. I had a scheduled appointment at 7pm which I confirmed on Vagaro. I got there 15 mins early and was told Teisha was running late and will get me at 8pm. I explained I had other plans and would not be able to stay. So as I was leaving the young lady stopped me and said she can get you now. So I sat back down and as I was filling out the consent, I got an eerie feeling and I decided I will reschedule. As I was leaving Teisha came out and said, "you had a scheduled appointment" and I said "yes, but I will reschedule". Before leaving I asked the young lady again for my receipt and she searched the register and gave me a receipt with the price of a facial with today's date. I explained that I needed my receipt from last week including (pricey) products. The young lady said I cannot give you a receipt for the products and I said how can you sell products without giving a receipt. I had big plans for the spa including having a spa day for my book club members and I had mentioned couple massages to my husband. I aim to support black businesses as much as possible, but this is why it is difficult to do so. I was very disappointed in La Ritz Spa and Salon today. Besides the products being overpriced or the young lady overcharged me, they broke my face out. So I really wasted money!!! I just took the loss and not expecting anything from the salon because my skin is sensitive. However, I will try another spa in Conyers and I hope La Ritz will take this as constructive criticism. We were scheduled for by an hour couples massage and when we spoke with the front desk person she said they couldn't accommodate our appt. She said we can have a single message separately but not together. We agreed at that point so we could still enjoy my birthday. The therapist was nice, however, her technique made me feel like she just got out of school and she wasn't experienced in her craft. All of the pressure points in my back was missed. She did not massage my calf's and to top it all off she spent 3 mins on my feet where she didn't massage she just cracked my toes. On the other hand, my girlfriend enjoyed her massage from the therapist. However, we both were shorted 15 mins on our massages so what should have been an hour was about 45 mins. When my girlfriend asked the manager about it she seem to be confused and begin going back and forth with the therapist. In conclusion, I felt like the establishment was a bit unprofessional because they should accommodate their customers for what they pay for. They are not very knowledgeable on hair updos. My daughters hair was a disaster for her prom nearly 2 hours after leaving the salon. On top of that, the stated price during booking was $50. When we get there and speak with the stylist , she tells us it will be $70. She also stated it does not include shampooing. That would be another $15. So we ended up leaving after spending $110. Of course I included a tip, not like me. But I will not visit again, nor will I recommend. Very misleading. read more

My friend and I went to this salon for what was to be a girl's day out. She made the appointment for a deep tissue massage and mani/pedi facial. I was to get a hot stone massage. The woman at the front desk was friendly as well as the woman that introduced herself as the one that would be doing my massage. I am apologizing in advance for the long review. Just want you to get the full picture. Welllll, the first thing I notice is that the rooms are extremely small, there is no ambient lighting, no music, and no aromatherapy. I ordered a hot stone massage and the stones weren't ready. I decided to get a deep tissue and that was a HUGE mistake. The oil they use is not scented, there's no candles, her hands were freezing, and the music was a cd in a boombox on the floor that kept skipping! My friend requested a female, she got a male. There is no way that you can relax. Everytime they massage your back, your face falls forward from the pressure because there is no lock on the massage chair. I had to hold it up with my hand! The total cost was $100 (This was a discounted price for a special they were currently having) :-o Very disappointed. There is no way the quality of service they give deserve the prices they charge. You're better off just going to the mall massage chairs than this place. Btw- 2 days after the massage, my back locked up and hurt for almost a week. I smelled like icy hot for four days. read more

On the website, they have all the CORE VALUE of an excellent customer service. They pride themselves with prompt services. I booked for a facial and had my paperwork ready filled out from home and ready to go. By the way I am not aware that this place is another GROUPON Mecca (I should had purchased it instead of paying full price for rude service). Mind you that I showed up 30 minutes early. I had to ask the front desk why is it that I had been waiting for more than 45 min (15 minutes late) for my slotted appointment time. The front desk was irritated and started telling me that it is not thier fault because the client before me was 30 minutes late...HA??? The place also sells cheap handbags and various accesories that you may buy from street vendors for $1 but priced $$$. The organic products that they have are overpriced...and it looks like that it was hand made by a five year old. I highly recomend SINFULLY SWEET SOAP across the street. I've been here twice and wasn't impressed either time. Wait times are horrible, the staff doesn't have any concept of time. It's supposed to be a fairly new spa but the interior has no workmanship. An $80 facial doesn't come with extraction? But of course the skin care specialist recommended it. I bought a groupon and when I booked my appointment for a massage and wax the charged me $18 more. I got a Brazilian wax that took them an hour and a half to do and still did not get everything. By the time I was finished I was shaking from pain. Then afterwards they were trying to tell that it is too late for me to get the massage because they took so long on the wax. The massage was blah. The massage was really good but her tardiness reflected on her tip; she was given one. All in all if I get another Groupon I will return for Victoria's service. Inasmuch as I truly truly patronize our people first I can't in this case. This was an experience from hell!! The customer service is absolutely the worst! When I called to inquire about the foot detox service I was told that this is none other than "putting your feet in a tub of water and letting it get the dirt off" My feet aren't dirty! I spoke to Teisha and got a better understanding of what was to be expected. My husband and cousin arrived for our foot detox at 11am. We filled out the paperwork and did not get serviced until 11:40. And that was only 2 of us. You see there were only 2 detox tubs and instead of letting us know that they had my cousin wait in a pedicure chair and get a back massage while my husband and I received service. We listened to patrons in the hair salon speak loud about who cares what. No privacy from other patrons. No one explained nothing and when they did, Teisha was reading it as though she was not ready for this. We sat in chairs that were not comforting and kept our feet in the tubs for an hour. Bad mistake!! When the foot detox was over the assistant literally handed us a towel, told us to dry our feet and put our socks and shoes on and then dumped the water. NO EXPLANATION OF WHAT WE WENT THROUGH AT ALL! No lotion or oil for our now dry feet. The service was done and she showed us to the exit. My cousin was then asked to sit in one of the uncomfortable chairs and begin her service. Her experience was worse than ours. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! No greetings, no thanks, just a big mess. To top it off, I paid for the service $160 gave the assistant an extra $20 and asked for change to tip. She returns with a $10 thus tipping herself $10. We will never return to this unprofessional environment. What a waste of time. Definitely not worth the money paid. Teisha you and your staff need to learn good customer service skills. You won't be in business long. This experience was horrible and this is a prime example of why we can't patronize our own. read more

This place always smells so good, and customer service is excellent. I've been there several times for Brazilian waxing and I have had different girls. The first one wasn't very knowledgeable and I wasn't happy with the service but she was really nice and felt awful about her poor service I cant remember her name though. Then I saw Tisha, she is really really REALLY good, lol. Fast and efficient but not as friendly she is not rude but very standoffish. And I've also seen Chanteria, she is really good too, not as fast as Tisha but just as efficient and she takes time to make you feel comfortable just a great personality overall. They also have great deals and offer a wide variety of services. I definitely recommend it! read more

Thank God for Teshia @ this spa. I've struggled with acne since a teen. My skin has never looked better until I started getting treatments, products and facials here. My skin is constantly improving over time, still have a long way to go. I can definitely say that my acne scars are minimizing over time. Not only does she work on the outside but she also introduced me to yogi detox tea for my inter body. This tea along with my facials & micro dermabrasions is really helping. Extractions are very important for my face also because it helps with clearing my face of black heads & white heads. I recommend this spa to ppl with acne prone skin. I had my first visit with Teisha a little over a month ago with a Groupon. Just as you can figure the Groupon I paid for was for the basic permanent top and bottom liner for $114. Of course I was surprised when I was told that I would need to pay an additional $115 since I wanted thicker and a tiny cat eye, so I agreed and paid the money. When I left I was quite disappointed not thick nor cat eye....I called to let her know of my concerns. Her response was oh that's the reason that the 6 week follow up is so important. So here we go I go today for my "follow up" which I was lead to believe that it was just to finalize what was started - WRONG!!! Another $150 and I now have thicker lines, cat eyes with one being smeared. I know if you put on your make up it's not perfect but come on permanent make up and $300+ it should be extraordinarily beautiful. Needless to say I'm not a happy camper. I went to La Ritz Spa & Salon because I was on a business trip in the area and I bought a Groupon. The exterior of the Spa looks nice but the interior is a whole other story. The Groupon I bought was for a facial and mani/pedi combo. First of all the facial room is tiny and the equipment is older then me. The young lady who gave me my facial was nice however that did not make up for the bad facial. She had put the facial steamer so close to my face that I had to ask her to stop and move it cause it HURT! Then she did the extractions with her hands and not an extractor(yikes). The mani/pedi was even worse the young lady that did my nails was HORRIBLE to say the least. She had no clue what she was doing. She left my nails so uneven and ragged I snagged a nail on the way out of the salon. The worst was when I sat up from the pedicure chair and there was a trail of nail clippings and disgusting oils in the swing out area from the chair that no one had ever cleaned!!! A huge health hazard, I should have gotten a clue that the woman doing my nails didn't have a clue on how to do nails when I saw that she had press on nails on. Mind you her nails were soooo long that she couldn't even handle the tools correctly while doing my mani/pedi. read more

This isn't my first time going to LaRitz spa for a massage and the service was great but there was a problem with the price. I received a wax special email and followed the booking process through the email but reserved a massage instead. The entire website had a sell. I reserved my massage for 17.50$ (regular 35$) thinking it was a good deal! Maybe not. During payment the receptionist told me my charge was 35$..confused. she explained the discounted price was apart of the BOGO but there was no BOGO on the website considering the ENTIRE website was on sale. I explained to her and showed her screenshots of what I had taken prior to completing my reservation.(the total price including the entire website sale ) Perhaps there was a glitch within the website but that doesn't pertain to me. I solely booked the appointment under the impression that my massage was going to be 17.50$ and it wasn't. I personally wouldn't return. read more

Everything smells good at La Ritz. The waiting area was eucalyptus, the nail room was minty, and the facial room was just all kinds of lovely smells. I booked a facial with Teisha. Was in town visiting, and picked this spa off a Google search. I got the advanced exfoliation/hydration facial. Teisha used several cleansers in addition to plenty of gentle steam. Then she vigorously and thoroughly did extractions, that were nonetheless not particularly painful, as extractions go. My goal of declogged skin was met, and I took home a jar of their mint-based facial masque too. read more

Marquis is the Jedi Knight of gentle and thoughtful massage. As someone who seeks out angry Chinese ladies that like to torture you with elbows and knees and pummel knotted muscles into submission, I was ready to be disappointed at the first light touch. Ten minutes into Marquis' gentle strokes, half unconscious and feeling drugged, I changed my opinion and settled down into one of the most relaxing massages of my life. I've been to quite a few massages at La Ritz and all the therapists have been good but Marquis will have me coming back for a transcendent experience that will leave you oozing out the door stress free. read more

I used Groupon for a Brazilian Wax and I also got my eye brows waxed.. Renee was wonderful. Very nice and professional. I have had my eyebrows done several times before at nail salons but she took her time did not rush and my eyebrows looked great. I did not have to wait a long time before I was serviced. A family member gave me a coupon via Groupon for a special the establishment was running. The special is due to expired in August, 2013. I called to make an appointment and was told that the stylist who entered into the agreement is no longer with this company. Therefore, it is not valid. The coupon did not specify a specific stylist and has the company name. So, I ask the manager to honor the agreement per the advertisement as this is false advertisement. She refused to honor the agreement did not return any of my phone calls, so I had to call several times. I would never use this business again, and my suggestion do not enter into any advertised specials because they will wiggle out of performing the services after. read more

my daughter bought the mother/daughter spa day, which included a facial, massage and eyebrow waxing. The rooms for the facial and eyebrow waxing were very dim. After Crystal (?) waxed my eyebrows, she suggested that I get a brow tint. (I realized when I got home that she had cut my eyebrows to about 1/4" long.) The facial wasn't much better. I woke up the next morning with white heads all over my chin. :( Didn't think that was supposed to happen after a facial. My pores appeared to be clogged as well . As it was my first massage too (Kim I think she said her name was), I didn't know what to expect. Certainiy not the Pandora commercials. I am a small woman and she applied so much pressure, I was so sore when I left and for a few days after. Not relaxing at all. Neither one consulted me as to what I expected from the experience. Didn't call me by name even though I included it on the form. I purposly answered the questionnaire vaguely as I didn't know what to expect and thought that there would be some type of Q&A beforehand. The final straw was when we exited, and the receptionist couldn't find our Crowd Savings Vocher, and was trying to charge me again. Also, both practitioners were present when she asked, "Would you like to leave a tip?" Now how tacky is that? If I wanted to leave a tip, I would have asked how to go about it. read more
