The Atmosphere: The restaurant itself is actually very nice -- beautifully decorated with an underwater vibe that almost makes you feel like you're in an episode of SpongeBob. Big points for the decor; it's a cool spot to hang out in. The Food: This is where things went downhill. * Appetizers: I ordered the plátano, yuca, and banana chips. Coming from Honduras, when you say "chips," I expect thin, fried tajadas. What I got instead was a plate with one thick slice of green plantain, one thick slice of ripe plantain, and chunky yuca fries -- all served on a giant bed of salad that wasn't mentioned on the menu. Presentation was fine, but it was not what I expected and honestly, a disappointment. * Baleada: A classic Honduran dish, usually a flour tortilla with refried beans, sometimes with eggs, cream, or cheese. What I received was more like a quesadilla. The tortilla ok I guess, but the beans didn't taste like typical refried beans, and to my surprise it had melted mozzarella type cheese. That's not traditional at all. Again, it came with a mountain of salad that I didn't ask for. * Soup of the Day: When I asked, they said it was "nacho soup." What arrived was basically a big bowl of thick red sauce with more melted cheese on top. Strange, and not at all what I had in mind when ordering a soup. The Overall Experience: The portions here are huge, and I could see that's part of the appeal for some. But because of the name of you are thinking authentic Honduran food, that just isn't accurate. They didn't even carry something as basic as banana soda, which you'd expect at a Honduran restaurant. Instead, the menu leaned more Caribbean, with items like jerk chicken and Red Stripe beer. I guess marking it Creol may save you there. Final Thoughts: The restaurant is nice, the vibe is fun, and I can understand why some people enjoy it. But if you're looking for Honduran food, this is not the place. As much as I wanted to love it, I left very disappointed.

But you will also want the freshly made (fresh as in: they make it right in front of you) guacamole. The tacos are excellent - not sophisticated excellent, but Mexico taco stall excellent. The lemonade tastes like the model every lemonade everywhere should taste like. And the guacamole, well, could just be more of it! When we were there, the wait was quite long but the restaurant was full and there was only one waiter and a bartender, so we excused that because the waiter was lovely and patient. They didn't have any English menus for us but she (the waiter) took her time to explain everything we asked about. The food was great and quite large portions, and the price wasn't bad either. We all agreed to never eat here again. We started with nachos for an appetizer. They were made pre-packaged chips topped with processed cheese sauce, like what you would get at an American baseball stadium or inner-city subsidized school lunch. Just a few little sprinkles of fresh, melted cheese for decoration on top of what tasted like reheated, canned refried beans and a generous slathering of artificial cheese sauce. Let me repeat that - we were served canned faux-cheese sauce on top of bagged chips at an "authentic" Mexican restaurant. Long story short, our food tasted neither authentic nor homemade. The "guacamole" had no fresh avocado to be found and was more of a runny, cilantro-flavored ranch dressing. The meat on my chicken tacos was dry and tasted anything but fresh. My girlfriend's enchiladas were too spicy for any of us to take more than a few bites; I love spicy food but this was just ridiculous. The mole tasted like Hershey's syrup with Tabasco sauce. The Spanish rice seemed like cheap minute-rice boiled in a can of low-grade salsa. Now top that with the fact that our waiter could barely understand us (in German OR English) and had to be told over and over what to bring us. No one had the heart to say anything to the poor guy when he came over and asked us how everything was. We could only lower our heads in awkward silence. All in all, I need to have a long heart-to-heart with my American friend if she really considers this authentic Mexican food.
