Canned mushrooms on their pizza ai funghi. I probably don't need to say anything more…read more I had misgivings about eating in Verona after wandering past place after place with stock food photographs in the windows (I guess these must have once worked to lure in the unsuspecting tourist, but who doesn't know that these indicate bad, overpriced food? I digress). Boccondivino didn't seem to have the lousy pictures, though I can be wrong because I was delirious with hunger and past all reason. At the point where we landed here, we were kind of desperate as it was noon and we hadn't eaten all day after traveling in from Florence. I figured I'd just play it safe and get a marinara pizza but then I thought the ai funghi promised wild mushrooms, so I asked for it sans the cheese cuz that's how I roll. Beyond the canned horrors, the pizza itself was an unappealing mess of bland sauce and pedestrian crust. My friend's pizza with cheese and cured meats wasn't much better, according to her. Keep in mind a marinara pizza is 4 Euro, yet adding in the canned mushrooms doubles the price. WTF? A tourist trap to be avoided. The staff was very nice, however.

We strolled by for a late Sunday lunch. I had the B&B pizza, buffalo mozzarella and basil. Tasty…read moresauce, nice crust, nice little outdoor table. We really liked it....and this isn't our first (or last) trip to Italy. Diners around us had some beautifully presented seafood salads and dishes. That is what I will try next time. Service was good also. Nice little spot for outdoor dining.
