I love this place. Great burritos. And to Andrea H. The reason these places have a minimum is because alot places get charged a percentage to use that credit card system. It's not free hardware or software to them. And also about the tacos your dad didn't get, did you not realize the price when you ordered? You pay first then get your order so something should have clicked with you when you paid for your order. Like maybe that's a cheap price for two orders of tacos?!?!? Some people just have to complain about every little thing. Also you gave the clue that you usually don't spend more than ten bucks ever at that place, so them losing your business is probably not going to hurt them. As Mexican food goes, this place did not disappoint... especially after a recent trip to a "popular" taco place in town... I was really craving something that would actually taste authentic. Both of the meals I tasted (I had to try some from the husband's plate too..) were very savory and well-made. I did make the mistake of choosing "spicy" when given the choice of spicy or mild, and my lunch was really too much for me to handle much at a time... I had to take my leftovers home. I also took home some menudo... as far as that went, it was very good, except somehow my serving did not have any hominy at all in it... I don't know if that was an oversight or how it usually is... but I've never had a menudo without hominy before! In contrast though, there was a very generous amount of tripe. I was not overly impressed. The taste was great, but it really was missing something without the hominy. I would gladly return to sample some of their many other dishes. This tiny little taqueria is great! I love their chorizo tortas. However: over the last few years, I think the quality has been declining. It's still delicious, and better than the majority of the so-called Mexican restaurants in the QC, but I'd rather go down the street a bit. Good, authentic Mexican food. But the last two times I've gone they have been out of the Gorditas which is frustrating. Plus the place has a funny smell. Like they mopped the floor with dirty water. Not to mention the restaurant is literally next to the restrooms at the back of the store. Perhaps I would find it more appetizing if they kept it cleaner and possibly put up barriers between the bathrooms and the restaurant. read more

Went here for lunch on a whim when my husband and I couldn't be seated a local lunch hot-spot. We were very pleasantly surprised and would definitely go back to this restaurant. We wanted to try the gorditas because we they are rarely (if ever) on a Mexican restaurant menu. We were overjoyed when they came to our table. They looked fresh, were packed to the brim with Mexican cheese, lettuce and tomato stuffed with our choice of meat. I had the shredded pork while my husband got the chipotle chicken. We both favored mine but they were both delicious. We barely finished 3 of them since they were so filing! Definitely worth the 7 bucks plus free chips and salsa (of which they have a nice variety at their serve-yourself salsa bar!). Service was decent, we will be back! La Primavera - Gorditas! - Grocery Near Me - Moline, Illinois

I have had many frustrations with this place but this was the last straw. We have frequented the grocery store and the restaurant. The restaurant is a no-frill place. I once went to eat there this summer with my dad and we ordered tacos. The lady brought out just one order of tacos for me. My dad had to let her know that he also made an order of tacos with her and she acted like she didn't know that he wanted to eat also! Fast forward to a few months later and now I am shopping in the grocery store. They have this silly rule that you have to spend $10 in order to use your debit/credit card. Most of the time when you shop in these Mexican grocery stores you do not exceed $10 when you just need to buy a few things. However, apparently this store feels the need to put a $10 minimum on card purchases. We're in the year 2020 now, not many people have cash on them anymore and this store needs to be realistic. Not everyone wants to spend $10 either when they are just stopping through to pick up just a few items. Needless to say I will not be going back here. My suggestion is put a $5 minimum on debit/credit card purchases and you will gain more business. Oh, and work on your customer service skills as well. I moved here from Chicago and have been to many Mexican grocery stores so I am not new to this process of shopping in stores like this. I am honestly appalled at how difficult it has been to just stop by to get tacos or to purchase a few items in the grocery store. My hope is that changes. Mostly for the owners. I do want to see them succeed however as a customer it has been very frustrating. read more

The other restaurant a block down is now closed. They only have this spot now, which is fine! Delicious. Fresh as it gets with the meat counter not even 20 feet away. Great prices, not as cheap as La Finca. BOMB salsa bar though. Highly recommend the carnitas as well as lengua tacos. read more

Most Authentic Mexican food in the quad cities by far. Fantastic food at a great price, my advice is to buy the food in the back of the grocery store instead of the actual restaurant, you will save time, and a tip. Plus the food seems to be even better. read more

Oh I forgot to mention in my review, the pastries! They are SO good! Many I wasn't sure what they were but I tried different ones, and wished I'd bought more. They have a lot of great meat too at the meat counter, the last piece I bought to make a dish, was wonderful. I will not eat here again. I was hesitant to begin with after a recent bout with food poisioning after eating at La Primavera restaurant down the street, but I gave in to my husband while we were there getting something from the grocery. We both wish we would have made a different choice. I had the chicken flautas which were greasier than any I've had before and the chicken was fatty and had no flavor- I have never had fatty chicken in a flauta! I ate one and husband ate part of one- neither of us were impressed. I left the third. I would have to say the rice was pretty good and the beans ok. My husband had a torta and a couple tacos, he said they were ok. Their salsa was not good this day. I think the kicker was when we paid and our bill was $25. A similar meal at the other little taqueria attached to a grocery down the road is usually about $18. So we added it up. They charged $1.50 for a CAN of soda.... yes, a CAN. Ridiculous. I would have rather gone through the McDonalds drive thru. While this wasn't the worst food or experience ever, it was bad enough that I won't go back. And if you haven't had authentic mexican before, then you might think this place is good, because it IS authentic, just not good authentic. There are plenty of other authentic mexican restaurants in the area that I don't have to suffer with over-priced grease. Oh, and I didn't see the bathroom myself, but my husband said it was gross enough that he wouldn't take our kid in there. Yikes. read more

They have the freshest tasting enchiladas. Small portion but so yummy. They started with Tortas on a small grill and it expanded in to this small local favorite. Info via owners daughter. This place ranks the top of my list for enchiladas next to La Casa down the street, and they have better beans and rice, which are essential! read more

This Mexican restaurant is amazing! Authentic Mexican food! I ordered the chicken chimichanga's and they were delicious. They also have a salsa bar, where you pick & serve yourself, with different kinds of salsa. The salsa was great! I will definitely be back when I return to the area to visit family.
