my dad's been getting potato bologna here every year since the 60's. I drove from Omaha and back in the same day (roughly 9 hours or so) just to grab it for Christmas as my family continues the tradition. That should tell you how highly I think of this place. Jerry's Market is a treasure trove of unusual meats and packaged European food. I'm glad that I finally know where to come for beef bacon and domestic rabbit. Last night, however, my boyfriend and I were there for brats, and it was very interesting to chat with the owner about the history of the store as he packaged up our assortment of sausages. The brats, as it turned out, were generally pretty good, with regular and Thuringer being our favorites and Jalapeno cheddar in last place. We also picked up some really tasty pistachio salad! Next time I come to Jerry's Market, it will probably be for lunch. The menu posted by the deli counter looks really promising! I grew up shopping at "Jerry"'s brothers butcher shop, Paul's Market. Paul's is long gone, but there is still an extraordinary butcher shop in Moline. The meat Tony and Rhonda sell is just plain TOP DRAWER, the beef is prime and all the rest of the meat proves that a butcher is an artist. A good cut is as important as the grade of meat and Tony knows his business! Fabulous fresh made cold salads, carefully prepared potato, or Italian, or just tasty breakfast sausage are all available here. If your looking for specialty meat, Tony will order in for your special event. Jerry's Market will cater too. They catered a luncheon for a women's group last year and did an excellent job. If I have a complaint, it is that this business is too small. I wish Tony and Rhonda would expand and perhaps open a "Jerry's The Fresh Market" in the QC. read more

The little neighborhood grocery store. They do not make places like this anymore. As Ben notes below, this is the place to go in the QC for good steak cuts. We took a field trip here in 4th or 5th grade, and the butcher showed us a cow's tongue. Which was awesome. read more

I used to show up with a cut, kind, and quantity of meat scrawled on a slip of paper. Now I just tell the guy (I think he's Jerry's son--I forget his name) what I want to make and how (pan-fry, roast, slow-cook, whatever) and he gives me something awesome at a reasonable price with sane, sound cooking tips. What a mensch! The only reason this isn't a five-star review, and maybe I shouldn't even expect this, given the location, but it would be really cool if he had grass-fed beef or locally-raised stuff. Not many like this anymore. A hidden gem in what I would call a residential neighborhood. Very friendly people. I could tell the gentleman behind me was a long time customer, as the owner called him by name. Great meat counter ready to cut you anything you want fresh as can be. Jerry's is your old fashioned, family owned butcher shop in a residential neighborhood, and I loved it! He was very personable and had a 10 minute conversation with my mother about his sausage recipes and which of the items she purchased that he made in shop. Good variety of sausages, and my mother loved the taste of all of her purchases. The ground beef was fantastic and very fresh tasting, better than the big box grocers. read more

I went looking for Jerrys Market because I had read good online reviews. Although a little difficult to find, once you know where it is its well worth it trip. Just find Willard elementary school in Moline, Jerrys market shares a backyard with the school. Small old-fashioned grocery store with only three aisles. Excellent customer service! Hard to find Swedish groceries. Superb fresh prime beef! And the best potato salad since I had my mom's! Wherever you are in the Quad Cities, it's worth the drive to Jerry's Market I just became a regular. read more

I can't say enough good things about this store. A wonderful little neighborhood grocery run by the couple that owns it. They are kind and easygoing. I just wandered in looking for an apple and they talked me into some ribs and homemade potato salad. Both were delicious and next time I travel through moline I will be sure to stop by. read more

I often times head to Jerry's to grab ribs for dinner. Their pre-made ribs are amazing! When I walk through the door with a generic white bag, and a white foam container my husband starts licking his chops and about mows me over before he snatches the bag and starts cleaning bones. Mind you, we head to Kansas City for BBQ. This place also has potato salad. I despise ALL cold salads. I will ABSOLUTELY eat this potato salad. Keep in mind this is an old school butcher shop. They DO NOT accept credit cards. Come in with cash! This place is so amazing I would recommend it to ANYONE!!!!!!!!! read more

Greatest little market anywhere--USDA Prime beef--Their homemade Itialian sausage is the best--

This is the best place for Swedish food in the QC. We come here every Christmas to get potato sausage(which they have year round), sylta etc. It is like stepping back into time, when small grocery stores were a part of the neighborhood. A piece of Americana still flourishing. It is family run and very, very friendly. That is why 4 generations of our family have shopped and will continue to shop there. read more
